Spencer ran into the abandoned toilets and sat down beneath a sink. It was quiet, and she needed space to write. She opened her notebook, one of the only muggle things she'd brought with her, and started writing a new song.
"I wanna know.
I wanna feel.
Don't have to be right,
As long as it's real.
You said to think for myself
And I learned how to fly."

She paused.
'Fly. What rhymes with fly? Sky, Cry, Try, Die, Eye! Perfect.'
"I know exactly what you mean
when I look in your eyes."

'What was that stupid chorus? Oh!'
"I know I'm gonna make it out of here,
But it's not worth going if you're still here.
I hope I said it loud enough, and clear.
I want you to come with me, my dear."

"YES! THAT'S IT! PERFECT!" She cheered. This song has been out in bold for months, because she couldn't get the words from her brain to the paper. But it was finally happening. She couldn't have been happier. She flew through the rest, deciding to give the song a sad ending, and finally arrived at the last chorus.
"I'm never gonna make it out of here.
The world is never kind to fear.
The muddy water's never clear.
Cause you're never coming back, my dear."

'Wow. That was so deep.' she thought, reading the words over and over again. She hadn't even heard someone come in.

Paige needed to be alone. Seeing everyone with friends made her sad. As she walked she sang. Call her crazy if you want. She took out her sketchbook and sketched a picture of her and the outline of a person, whom she didn't know the looks of because they did not exist. Yet. That someone was her best friend who she was yet to meet. She shifted her bag to her other shoulder. She was short and small, and couldn't handle much weight for long. She winced as she relieved her right shoulder of the weight. Her bag was so heavy because she had a lot of contents in there. She had a sketchbook, about 10 books, quills, ink, glasses ( for distances), a notebook, and a diary. Not to mention the key chains. She looked around for a place to be as she thought about how everyone had a friend but her. First I lose my muggle friends, then I can't make any new ones HERE She played with her hair, which is a nervous habit. She finds a seemingly empty place, the abandoned toilets, and slowly opens the door looking at her sketchbook. She was shocked to find a girl already there. "oh.. sorry" Paige blushed. "I can go.."

"Oh hello! You don't have to leave. I came here to be alone so I could work on my little project here," she said, moving her notebook up so it was visible. "I've just finished it. It's an old song I started writing months ago and had to put aside. I had the worst writer's block ever. But I'll probably bore you to death with all of that."
Spencer laughed as she thought. "It's a wee bit ridiculous, isn't it? Meeting in a bathroom, I mean. Don't people usually meet in classes? Or even in the halls? I'm guessing you met all of your other friends somewhere a little nicer," She paused, looking at the dust covering everything.
"Probably somewhere cleaner, too."
She giggled.
"I'm sorry for being so weird. I don't talk to many people. I guess that's why I'm meeting someone for the first time in a dirty bathroom. Of course, you're more than welcome to stay. It's quite enchanting." she said, adding sarcasm to her last sentence. She looked up, realising she hadn't caught the girl's name.
"I'm Spencer, by the way, and it's very nice to meet you. What do they call you, lass?" She asked, her accent coming out thicker.

Paige was delighted to find the girl hadn't thrown her book at her like her sister would have done. Her face was blushing, but she tried to hide it. This made her face blush even more. She realized that she should have knocked on the door just in case though because she never knew if there was a person on the other side with a book. From what she could see, this girl was holding a book. So then again the girl still could throw it at her. The girl started talking with an accent but lost Paige at the word song.
"Oh wow, you're writing a song?" (Her face started blushing as she spoke)
" I love music" "Oh, and I don't have any friends yet so I can't say I've met friends in a nicer place than this. This Grand bathroom, that is."
Paige wondered if she was actually making a friend! Her face turned red from being talked to, and she was struggling with both her bag and her shyness. She put the bag down and winced. " Do you mind if I sit next to you? And... She took a breath at what she was about to do. " ...and- could- could I see your song?" Paige waited.

"Yeah! I love writing. It's probably the only thing that kept me sane back home. That and music. I don't really have any friends either, so nobody really kept me any company." She realised she was probably talking too much.
Spencer smiled at the flustered girl and moved her bag out of the way.
"You sure can! Have a seat."
She paused at the mention of sharing her song. This never happened. People didn't ever ask to see what she was working on. Maw and Mama didn't even know she wrote.
'Maybe this is a bad idea. What if she thinks it's bad? What if she makes fun of you? What if everyone else finds out and suddenly you-'
She shook her head lightly to clear her anxieties. It would be fine. This girl seemed nice, and Spencer really was excited that someone else was taking an interest in what she had made.
"Here! Let me know what you think of it." She handed her notebook to the girl, who's name she still didn't know.
Unless...
"Are you Paige? Ravenclaw, right? Sorry. That's weird. I saw you sitting in the Great Hall, not talking to anyone. I just was curious about why. So I asked a classmate. She told me that you don't talk to many people, and she was a bit rude. I'm sorry. You seem sweet. And I'm sorry I'm so weird. I don't meet a lot of people."
She stopped rambling and offered an awkward smile to the girl. Then she looked down at her lap and decided not to start talking again. It would be weird.

Taking the paper gently in her hand, she paused for a second. She scanned the paper over and over. Than she closed her eyes, and began to sing.
I wanna know.
I wanna feel.
Don't have to be right,
As long as it's real.
You said to think for myself
And I learned how to fly."

She than opened her eyes to see the next part. She was in her zone. She had her hands out like she was playing the piano as her hands played the keys to the song in mid air. Though there was no piano sounds, she heard it all around her. This was her zone. It was only she who was
there.

I know exactly what you mean

The world is never kind to fear.
The muddy water's never clear.

The piano music began to fade away as she fell back into reality. Her face was a bright as a fire truck. "Yeah, yeah I'm Paige."

"Oh. My. God. THAT WAS AMAZING!!! PAIGE, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD SING! I've been working on that since I got to Hogwarts. It's not for my range, though. It's perfect for you, actually."
She paused, and took in the flustered look on the girl's now cherry-red face.
"And, I'm rambling again. Sorry. You were really amazing. I knew that you were smart and sweet, even as shy as you seem, but I should've known you could sing. The quiet ones always can."
'Now, what was she doing? Her hands out like she was....like she was playing piano!'
Spencer smiled, excited to learn about her possible new friend. Spencer had played piano for a few years when she was younger.
"I used to play piano. That's what you were doing, right? I was never much good. I guess that's why I moved on to band instruments. Guitar, bass, drums, even tambourine. I actually started learning to play one of my favorite songs on acoustic. It's called 'Phantom'. Perfect for my range, but I think you could nail it too. Singing's always been my favorite. But piano was always fun. How long have you played?"
Spencer leaned forward eagerly, wanting to know more about Paige.

Paige laughed. "I'll take what you said as a compliment?" Although her face was still red, she was warming up to Spencer. "Um yea, that's what I was doing. I've been playing for a while now, my grandmother thought me how." She took out her notebook. It had different piano songs written on each page. "I created all of these. But I don't know if Hogwarts as a piano so I haven't tried them yet. I want to, though." Then she a lightbulb flickered on over her sitting place. "Wait, I just remembered, Hogwarts has a recording room or something! Oh, I can play these songs in front of you, and you can make your own songs with my own music!" Then she lowered down. "That is, of you want to, of course." With a shy face, she slid her hand onto Spencer's. "Would you?"

Afraid of the answer, Paige turned to her notebook and began to sketch absent mindedly. She sketched a wolf. Her sign of bra very, for everything. She loved wolves. Finally she collected her things. "I got to go. But hey, will I see you in the music room or whatever it's called?" She laughed at her stupidity.

"Oh jeezums. Yes, I completely meant that as a complement! Sorry."
She giggled at the misunderstanding. When Paige took out her notebook she was instantly curious.
She took the notebook and looked through the sheets of gorgeous music.
'Wow. These are beautiful.'
She passed the notebook back
"These are going to sound incredible, Paige."
When Paige took her hand, she blushed a little at the sudden contact, and even more at the sudden loss when she moved away to sketch.
"I would love to write songs with you!"
Spencer smiled warmly and glanced at the forming shape in the notebook. It looked like...hmm..
"Oh! A wolf! I love those. I wish there were more where I lived."
Finally the conversation lulled, and she smiled lightly at her new friend.
"I had fun! We should do this again, but maybe not in the dusty bathroom."
She laughed.
"See you later in the rehearsal room. We're gonna make an incredible masterpiece together, I can already tell."
She watched as Paige left, and grinned like a maniac.
"I can't believe I made a friend. Thank heaven."
She gathered the rest of her things and left, feeling like she could fly.
"I've got to write Maw!"
