For an overcast October evening, Koko thought it to be quite gorgeous outside. Now, it wasn't drop-dead gorgeous like a model, but... it had its charm. She could have likened it to a cottage in a snowy field, or perhaps the feeling of being in her aunt's warm embrace as the duo strolled Diagon Alley last Christmas.

A light breeze allowed Koko's hair to flow almost comically behind her. The girl's feet tapped quietly against the stone beneath her, her cat following attentively. Occasionally, he chirped, and Koko glanced back at him, sighing fondly before she kept walking.

She loved her cat.

Staring out at the grounds before her, a smile began to play its way onto Koko's firmly set lips, completely breaking the "stony-faced prefect" facade she'd had going. Chuckling to herself, Koko spun on her heel, allowing the little warmth that broke through the layer of clouds grace her back as the wind struck her face.

It was somewhat peaceful, she thought, bending down to stroke Jax's fur. "You're such a good boy," she whispered, pulling the purring bundle of fur closer to her. "Yes, you are."

Smiling softly, Koko drew a string of yarn from her robes, and she began to drag it in front of Jax, giggling as he attempted to snatch it out of her grasp. Her schoolbooks stayed put in her bag, a weight at the back of her consciousness. Who needed studying when there were cats to play with?

Hogwarts was beautiful as it was, but the grounds was probably May's favourite hangout. She did not have a favourite one in particular. It was different every day, depending on her mood and her needs, or how her day had been. And today, the 10th of october, she was in the courtyard, sitting on a bench, quietly reading a book she had borrowed in the library. She loved watching the people talking and chatting outside. It had been much more active in June thought. The chilly overcast air wasnt exacly everyone's favourite weather.

Only one student was walking around the courtyard, with a silvery mackerel trying to grab a string she was pulling playfully. May could not help it. She could not stop glancing at the girl with the green eyes, so much like hers. Her hair was darker, and Mays was much more blonde tho. Her face looked so familiar May could not help but gasp a little as she dropped her head and watched her own reflection in a puddle of water. The Slytherin girl was taller, perhaps, and seemed a bit older than May. Timid as May was, she tried not to look at her, so that the girl would not notice, but it was useless. The cat was so cute and the girl looked so alike May...

Finally deciding that she would walk up to the girl and talk to her, May stood up and left her book on the bench along with her other books and her bag. She walked slowly, taking deep breaths ocasionally until she reached the older girl.

She hesitated. May did not want to go immediately to the point in which she had approached her.
"I-he's so cute." May said, pointing at the grey cat. She thought it was much better to start talking about the main attraction.

Jax's paws thumped against the string, his claws occasionally catching it as she pulled it along. Once, he leapt up and his claws caught the fabric of her skirt - thankfully, the only tears of any sort were small holes. She let out a relieved exhale, momentarily setting down the string, and then her gaze caught on something.

Blonde hair, smaller stature, a girl.

Koko's lips quirked upwards, and she raised an eyebrow, tilting her head to the side. Ultimately, though, she turned back to her cat, smiling warmly at him. "Oh, it's another person," she cooed, "are you excited, Jax?"

Shaking her head, she chuckled. Of course he wouldn't respond; he was a cat. Still, when footsteps began to echo across the Courtyard and she felt eyes on her, Koko turned once again.

The girl spoke.

Her voice wasn't unpleasant in the slightest; rather, Koko's smile widened ever-so slightly at her speech. "Thank you," Koko responded, her soft voice tinged with warmth, "I'm sure he's glad to hear that." She shrugged. "Although, really, he probably won't understand." She shrugged.

Holding out her hand, Koko attempted to make eye contact with the newcomer, although admittedly, she would find herself glancing away a few times. "I'm Koko," she said, giving her name, "it's very nice to meet you - and I'm certain Jax, the cat, thinks so, too."
