Fabulous Felines PV Henry Knight Finished

Chaska ducked him batting at her head, successfully dodging his paws, but followed Loki down the tree, though a little more apprehensive than he was. She leaped off the trunk around the same place he did, landing daintily on her fluffy paws and running after him. She leaped up on the fountain behind him, trying to pounce on his tail, which was still flicking around.

"Aw, that's sweet. He must really care about you," she said. Rose had saved up all her money to buy a cat, and had to use her own money. Her mother was okay with it as long as Rose sustained the kitty herself.

Her aunt? Rose actually had two aunts. Well, Rose actually had more than two aunts. But she didn't remember meeting the aunts on her father's side, since they had cut ties with them after her father had died. But her two aunts on her mother's side were Coco and Davina. She had mentioned Coco before, so maybe that was the aunt he was talking about? "My aunt Coco? She's actually a journalist for a really popular wizarding paper in America, so she's doing amazing back home."

Rose paused, searching for more subjects. "Are you and Miranda Everest still dating?How are you guys doing?" She smirked. She knew she could very likely make him uncomfortable, but they were close enough friends she didn't care too much.

Loki bat at Chaska head again however this time he would keep batting at her head before she would fall off the fountain, if she would fall off. Loki then jumped from the fountain himself and what looked like ease climbed up the tree again and sitting on a branch a bit higher up then then one before almost waiting there for Chaska.

Henry then turned back to Rose with a smile as he spoke " uh yeah, him and me are really close given the eight year age gap. Were closer than brothers through and I think I'm the closest to him then anyone else in my family," which didn't say much since his father is almost always away and his twin preferred to hang out with other people or sit in their room. So Henry bonded with his older brother which he never minded and loved it as the two only grew closer with each passing year even the day he was born, Henry remembered being told that Arthur was always found helping with Henry but hardly ever Annabeth.

Henry heard her question and figured that she had more than one aunt so felt embarrassed at that but after she spoke, he then smiled at her before speaking himself " a journalist that's cool? Your Aunt Coco is the one that seems more close with your family right? Or is that another one of your aunts? You never said her name just your aunt so I don't really know," Henry smiled admittedly before awkwardness filled his face at her next question but gave away since it wasn't to awkward especially with a close friend like Rose.

" Miranda and I are fine I guess," Henry spoke before smiling a bit and asking Rose " and how are you and Eyre? Are you still dating and dueling partners?"

"Eight years is a lot," Rose commented. Eight years? Henry and his brother were eight years apart? Gosh, Henry must look up to his brother so much... Henry's whole life, Arthur had been there to support him in everything he did. He was more mature, older, smarter. Henry must wish so bad that he got more time with Arthur. Rose was really glad that she was barely any time apart from her siblings.

"We pretty much cut ties with my dad's side of the family after he died, so I don't remember meeting any aunts on his side. On my mom's side, however, I have two aunts- Aunt Coco, my mom's twin, and my Aunt Davina, who is my... mother's brother's wife," she explained. "They're both pretty equally involved with my family, though since my Aunt Coco is my mom's twin, they're a lot closer than my mom is with Davina." Rose shrugged. She loved both of her aunts, though she knew Davina was busier since she had four times as many kids as Coco, all of which were not at a wizarding school yet.

The expected awkwardness came from Henry. He said, "fine, I guess." Was that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? I mean, Rose had no right to intrude on Henry's romance life, but "fine" was super vague and made Rose worry just a little bit about her friend.

Aw, man.

Rose should have known that if she asked him about his girlfriend, she would get asked about Eyre. She felt her face warm up despite herself, biting her lip awkwardly. She still didn't know at this "Yeah, we are... amazing, and still dating and dueling, I mean."

Chaska thankfully didn't fall all the way into the fountain, though one of her fluffy grey paws slipped in the water. She continued to chase the older kitty around, following him up the tree and getting on the same branch as Loki. She wiggled her butt, pouncing on him from the branch.

“Yeah, just how even though all my siblings are super extroverted and loud, super party animals that joke around all the time, and I’m more of an introverted, serious type, and I still love them all the same. Just because you’re different doesn’t mean you can’t love each other.” Rose blushed just a little bit, realizing that she was rambling. Henry probably didn’t care about her little speech, but at least he had seemed to actually pay attention. “My whole family is fairly close to my extended family on my mother’s side. As I said, we go over to America and all spend Christmas together, so both of my aunts’ husbands and my…” she paused, counting. “Five cousins on that side, as well as my grandma. And… my great aunt that lives over in the UK, too. She doesn’t go over to America, but she’s close with our household family since she helped raise my mother a little.” Rose watched Chaska be swatted for trying to pounce on Loki. “Ah, that’s okay, Chaska’s just really happy to have a playmate.” And, from the looks of it, Rose was right. Chaska didn’t seem to mind when she was hissed at, except for her to continue to look at him playfully. She wasn’t at all fazed and climbed higher after her elder kitty, still on her noble quest to catch his tail between her paws.

“What about you? Is your family close with any extended family?”

Rose scrunched up her nose at the mention of her duel. Ugh, she hated that she had lost, it made her feel like the absolute failure she was. But she brushed it off, saying, “Luck just wasn’t on our side. Though you did brilliantly in your duel, an amazing job.” Rose had watched him and Amara duel, and though she was happy for him and his win, she was really sad for the Gryffindor team’s loss. Oh well, it was all in the past anyway, and they couldn’t do anything about it. With a smile, she said, “I would love to join you sometime.” She laughed along with him. “Oh, it’s okay. It was a duel, after all, and she did wonderfully. It was fair and square that she and Lucia beat us.” That was only mostly true. If she came face to face with Logan, she would still remember how her spells had hit Eyre. Rose was protective over Eyre, it was true. But maybe that was because so many people wanted to hurt him or use him anyway. Maybe joining the dueling team hadn’t helped.

Henry smiled as he listened to Rose and turned his head a bit so he could looked at her hair bounce in the wind around her and almost stare into her bright green eyes shone and almost sparkled in the light. As he listened to her talk about her family and siblings, Henry nodded a bit while he did pay attention to her and enjoyed learning about Rose. Henry also thought about his own family and how little he knew of them or seen them really.

Henry nodded toward her comment about Chaska before looking back over to the two kittens on the tree and saying " that's good and since they seem to enjoy each other's company maybe we should let them play together more often? Or whenever you need I could look after Chaska for you Rose," Henry turned back to Rose as he gave her a small smile before looking back at the two kittens.

He watched as Loki took a swing at Chaska as soon as she climb onto the branch after him before climbing further up the tree another 3 feet and flicking his tail back and forth again before scurrying down and stopping 4 feet off the ground or so and jumping the rest of the way. Loki then say upright and flicked his tail from side to side as his reddish or bright orange eyes looked up at Chaska.

Henry turned back toward Rose at the mention of family and he didn't know exactly what to say. Should he mention meeting his fathers family or complete pass over it, should he change the topic or answer? Henry still unsure what to say and with his anxiety producing situations in his head on how that conversation could go now, Henry took a feel breath before saying " your lucky that you have such a close relationship with your extended family Rose," Henry smiled at her before continuing " I never met my mum's family, I think they severed contact with her after she was disowned. I don't know really, after she died father never talked about her or her family so."

Henry gave her a small smile and brushed the hair from his face before looking over at the two cat's and speaking " I met my father's family for the first and probably only time over the summer. Things didn't go that well and I don't think we'll be seeing them again," Henry tried not to think of the meeting with the Alluring's since it was probably the worst part of Henry's summer.

He brushed the hair out of his eyes again and was at a lost for words but luckily Rose spoke about this offer for dueling practice and their own duels. Henry laughed a little as he remembered his own before speaking " thanks, Amara and me aren't best friends but we definitely make a good team," while the did bather during it a bit that didn't mean they didn't make a good team or Henry cared for the girl even through he'll never admit it.

" Logan and uh Lucia definitely did brilliantly, Logan and I were practicing before them you know and she doesn't like hurting others. So I'm sure she wasn't that happy that you guy's were on fire or anything," Henry spoke as he smiled toward Rose again grazing into her bright green eyes and probably for the first time seeing how beautiful they were before continuing " I'm glad you accepted my offer and I can't wait to stay practicing with you. What spells do you think are more important in a duel so far; offense or defense?"

Henry smiled at Rose before he would say again " I been learning a few third year charms for our next duels however I also been studying the disarming charm to. What about you Rose, any new spells you picked up since our first duels or what to know or-"

“Yeah, of course, we should get them together more often. And same here, I would love to look after Loki if you ever need it. He seems to trust me a little. And that’s sweet of you to offer, though Chaska can usually look after herself,” Rose smiled. “If I ever disappear randomly, you can take care of her, though.”

Chaska watched him as he went up another branch, but didn’t follow him, as soon after, he would scamper down the tree trunk and leap off. The silver kitten carefully crawled down after him, her belly close to the trunk, then would let out a playful mrrow and try to tackle him from the trunk. He would have plenty of time to scramble out of the way, but if he did, Chaska would take to chasing him, bouncing around. Everything about the silver kitten was happy and playful.

Rose was watching her silly kitty, laughing at her a little before looking back to Henry, listening to him talk about his extended family. “I’m sorry,” she said softly. That really did suck, that his mother was disowned and his father’s family didn’t get along too well with Henry’s own. Rose sighed. She really was lucky in a lot of ways that Henry wasn’t.

Rose hesitated, finally answering, “I think it depends on the kind of duel and what’s happening in the moment. If you were being really aggressive, but it’s not working, it would help to go on the defense, and if you were being defensive and not getting anywhere, you could switch to offense. It’s all about give and take, strategy and timing.” Wow, Henry really was excited about dueling. “That’s cool. I uh, haven’t been doing anything special or extra so… I don’t know, I was kinda counting on… deciding in the moment, you know? So maybe that wasn’t the best choice as it didn’t really... work,” she said bashfully. “So maybe the dueling practice with some of your friends would really help.” She paused, then to carry on the conversation, she said, “Thanks for cheering for me, by the way. That was nice of you.”

Henry nodded toward Rose's reply about getting their cat's together another time or watching each other's cats. Henry definitely wouldn't mind watching Chaska since he already watched Sherlock for Logan whenever she needed and being as much as a animal and cat lover as he was, he of course was jumping at the opportunity to watch three cats as his eyes drifted off toward Loki and Chaska.

Henry watched as Loki slid out of the way from Chaska tackle before he would wack his paw at her head for a few times. He then would eye the tree and jump and climb straight up, this time stopping at a branch near the top of the tree and sliding out the branch with ease. Loki then would look down at Chaska and give her a meow as if telling her to come join him.

" Thanks but your lucky to be close with your extended family Rose," Henry would reply back to Rose as he turned away from the two playing kittens back to Rose and her flaming red hair as their conversation went to dueling.

Definitely excited and what some would say a fan of dueling, Henry smiled at Rose as he agreed with her before started to speak " yeah I definitely agree with you, strategy is a major part with dueling and I think can change for sure after the first round," remembering his first duel and their offense strategy which paid off but still felt bad for his opponents as he continued " maybe I could teach you some spells? I learn a few in our year but I also learned a bunch of third year spells, would you like to see Rose?" Henry then thought back to his dueling practice with Logan and laughed a bit as he remembered the day before replying to Rose " maybe and anyway I'm sure you'll love the dueling practices either way. Especially since Logan hates to harm anyone which is odd since she is brilliant at dueling, your brilliant to Rose," Henry then smiled at her next remark before adding " no worries mate, what are friends for."

"Yeah, I would love to see the spells," she nodded. She wasn't sure if he intended to stand up right then and show her or if he was going to show her at the dueling practice later. She was excited, though. "Logan is a really good dueler, either way. She deserved to win the duel."

That's what friends are for. Those words made her smile despite herself. Henry was her friend- one of her really, really good friends. Henry had supported her in everything she did, and had been kind to her, no matter how her mood was that day. He had complimented her when she did the littlest things, and always thought nothing but the best of her. He didn't expect her to do anything more than she did and reassured her when she wasn't really okay. He told her how lucky she was, and she always believed him- she was a lot luckier than he was in a lot of areas. "...Yeah," she said thoughtfully. "That is what friends are for."

Chaska chased Loki up the tree, a shade more cautious than he, but instead of joining him on the branch he was on, went one more branch up. She bent down, releasing one of her paws from the thinner branch so she could bat down at him while keeping her delicate balance on the tree branch.

"He's not that bad at playing," Rose commented, looking at Loki and Chaska. "They actually look pretty comfortable with each other."

Henry was excited when Rose said that she'll would like to see the spells he had learn and started to think about what spells he should show her and if he should show her there or later as Henry thought he spoke " great maybe I could teach you a few as well? Would you like to see one or two now? I learn the Summoning charm, wind jinx, singing jinx, bandaging charm, Lumos maximum, and Lumos duo," Henry counted off the charms with a bit of a smile since the boy was clearly evicted about them.

Henry nodded toward her mention of Logan being a good dueler and while he could have said something else or went on about that, Henry decided not to since he knew Rose probably didn't want to hear it and she was a good friend also so instead Henry simply said " Your a brilliant dueler to," Henry smiled toward her as he was glad that she was his friend. The boy thought she was kind and sweet to almost everyone no matter what but also could stick up for someone if needed which made her brave and courageous which were two things that Henry admired of her.

He smiled toward her before glancing toward the two kittens, he watches as Chaska climb to the branch above Loki and stayed to bat at him from above. Loki got batted once or twice but was pretty good at avoiding as he was annoyed at being bat a bit as he climbed up to the branch Chaska was on and first cornered her for a bit as he batt as her for a couple minutes maybe for around 5 or 6 minutes or so. Henry then watched as Loki would crawl off the branch and climb on the way up to the top branch of the tree flicking his tail from side to side as he meow at Chaska.

Henry heard Rose speak which allowed Henry to turned to Rose with a smile before looking back at the two cats and saying " yeah he's been getting better at playing since I got him but I think he grew a bit too fond of trees since the summer holiday," smiling at the two cats Henry would speak again " they definitely look comfortable around each other maybe they knee each other at magical menagerie? Or maybe Loki knew Chaska?"
