From the Water to the Trees PV Charles Closed

Sore losers and muscularity. Alina grinned, wondering which he fell into. Maybe both. Maybe neither. It was pretty soon to judge the boy. Besides, she wasn't a broom racer so if he was a sore loser, she wouldn't have to be a party to that.

His playful nature did appeal to her though and yes, it was too soon to judge the boy. She'd just have to spend more time with him before getting an idea on what she thought of him. "Tonight sounds absolutely splendid, Mr. Alluring," she said, calling him that besides Charlie this time. If he was going to be all formal, so she could. In fact, if he wanted a formal engagement, so be it.

"I'll meet you here under this exact tree just after supper's end?" Students had some free time after dining to study or socialize before the night's curfew. That would be the perfect time for a night ride, especially with Winter officially approaching and the skies of the Scottish Highlands grew darker earlier.

She smiled, glad that she had plans that evening. It seemed most of her existence that Second Year was going by day by day with the mundane but that night she had something to look forward to and it came from a rather unexpected place.

She took hold of her bag that was by the tree and brought the strap around her shoulder. "Oh, and Mr. Alluring? I don't mind a little late, but if it goes past fifteen minutes I'll have nothing to do but think you stood me up and flowers or chocolates are a nice touch on the first date." He was initially flirting, after all, so if he wanted to make this out to be some sort of date, then so be it. She gave him a soft smile and lifted her hand up to gently brush his cheek. "See you tonight." And with those words she quickly headed back towards the castle.

Charles wasn't big on formality but he did use it so it only made sense for her to use it as well and if they were going to stick with formality then Charles will go full out. Charles gave a bow toward Alina before he would speak in a British accent " sounds like a date then? A non romantic date of course Miss. Rosier," Charles gave her a smile before looking around the tree as she suggest that they meet there for the flying after dinner.

" Here's a good spot and we can fly over the lake which should be beautiful, after dinner then we meet again Alina Rosier of Hogwarts," Charles spoke with a smile toward the girl before holding his hands by his side and keeping a straight posture.

Upon hearing her next words, Charles smiled a bit at the mention of a date and bringing a gift. He didn't think it would be a date but if it was then Charles made it a point to go all out as he smile toward the girl and spoke " I will be sure to arrive on time with a gift as beautiful as you Alina," Charles then gave a small head bow before saying " yes, see you tonight as well Alina."

Charles watched her leave before he would turn toward the lake and smile to himself. He was happy and a part of him consider that a date but another part did not and didn't like her in that way. Charles tried to shake off those thoughts but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't even when he was heading back to the Dumstrang camp.

Charles didn't have much to worry about. While Alina was making this out to be some sort of official romantic date, at the same time she was just playing around. It was a good scenario for their evening together and yet she really wasn't placing actual merit on it - almost as if it was some sort of play or production that was being put on.

Still, to play her part though she looked through her wardrobe there at her dormitory to select just the right outift, one that was feminine without being botherseome or not right for flying and she laid it out across her bed so that she could change into it just after supper, where school uniform was still required attire.

And then she realized, if she was expecting him to get her any sort of anything, that it was only fair that she do the same. Afterall, Alina wasn't the type of person in a friendship to be a taker, she was a giver. So she sat for a moment on the edge of the bed thinking what would be a good first date sort of present for her new Durmstrang friend. Did girls usually give a guy a gift on the first date? She didn't think so. Still, that didn't matter. Alina went over to the small desk near her and her dormmates area and brought out some of her crafting supplies.

A friendship bracelet. It was simple, easy to make, and yet meaningful. She decided on Hogwarts' school colors because he seemed to like his time that he had here on his visit and it would be a good keepsake if he chose to keep it upon leaving. So she did all four of the colors and incoporporated them all fairly in her design (even if the yellow for Hufflepuff was the best).

Then it was to dinner before heading back, just momentarily to change because she dare not be late after instructing him not to be so, and then she headed back to the Great Lake to the same very tree that they had decided to be their meeting place. She sat down, using the tree's trunk as a back rest and sang softly while she waited. "And you can tell everybody this is your song. It may be quite simple, but now that it's done. I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind that I put down in words; how wonderful life is while you're in the world." It had been stuck in her head ever since she played it the other day on the piano in the rehearsal room.

Charles would have changed but seeing what he originally had on was nice to and he wasn't sure how romantic of a date the night would bring he decided to brush it off a bit and comb back his curly blonde hair. Charles wore his Dumstrang uniform on top of his clothes for dinner as he decided to sit alone that night and plan out where and how he would fly Alina over the lake or where else.

The boy even decided to leave early after he finished when he wanted to chat with friends or maybe start a fight with a fellow Dumstrang. Still Charles walked back to the campsite where Dumstrang students slept and walked into his quarters, be would throw his uniform in a neatish pile on his bed before combing back his hair again and dusting off his clothes.

Charles would then search through his trunk until he found a gift suitable for that evening, what he found was a simple sliver bracelet with a charm of a small shell in the center. Charles remembered he took some jewelry from his parents over the summer holiday before leaving and he must have still had some, Charles place it in his pocket as he decided that would do.

Charles would then grab his broom which he still rather hated since it was a older model before exiting his quarters and heading toward the tree to meet Alina.

Along the way Charles gather up a few nice flowers and made a bouquet for the girl as well. However when he got to the tree and heard singing, the boy waiting till she was finished before approaching her with a smile " your voice is lovey as well is that song," Charles then gave a small bow before handing her the flowers and saying " beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl."

Charles would then place his broom on the ground and take out the sliver bracelet, showing it to Alina before giving it to her and saying " just something I found laying around and thought you would like Alina Rosier of Hogwarts," Charles would then look across the lake then back toward Alina with a smile, " so ready for a exciting ride?"

"Nearly," she said, indicating that she wasn't quite ready just yet. She smiled at the flowers and bent down to rifle through her bag. She pulled out a sweater and tossed it on the ground before getting out one of her larger books. There she placed some of the flowers inside and shut them in. Pressed flowers was one of the things she liked to collect and use in her crafts and the flowers he had picked would be perfect additions to her collection.

Alina then put the book back into her bag and pulled the sweater on as it had started to get a little chilly that evening there by the Lake. Surely it was even chillier up in the air! She then took the bracelet, brought it around her wrist and took one flower to tuck inside it so it would be secure for the trip.

"We think alike, perhaps," she said as she went to her bag one more time to pull out the friendship bracelet she had made of the Hogwarts school colors. "Something for you to remember your trip to this school by," and she came over and took his hand, turning it over so she could tie the bracelet upon it. She had made it larger than her own wrist, thinking his hands would be bigger and it was a good thing that she had. It fit perfectly. She smiled up to him and nodded.

"Alright then, Mr. Alluring. I believe that I'm ready for this," and she said so with much certainty in her voice although she herself didn't believe it much. She didn't know what it was about flying and broomsticks. She could stand on a high tower and lean out the window and be fine. One of her father's hobbies was flying a muggle helicopter and she could ride in it without any trouble. And yet broomsticks?

She tucked her bag up against the tree. Nothing of value was in it and she trusted the student population to leave it alone while they went on their little venture. "I'm ready to see what this broom racer has to offer."

Charles nodded when Alina replied and waited as he watched her press the flowers that he gave her in a book before watching her finish and pull on a sweater. Charles felt a breeze blew past them but enjoy the chill in the wind since it didn't bother him as much since Dumstrang winters were brutal and all but that chill felt nice toward the boy as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a minute.

He then would open them to Alina's voice and holding a friendship bracelet for him, saying to use it as to remember his trip. Charles smiled at her before taking the bracelet and saying " thank you but I think I'll remember you with it Alina instead of this trip and school," Charles then tied the bracelet around his own right wrist before looking back at Alina.

Charles gave her a smile before mounting his broom and getting ready to push off as he the turned toward Alina and spoke " well then get ready for a adventure of a lifetime, Alina," holding the broom in his grip and ready to push off Charles spoke again " climb on Alina and hold on tight."
