@Haley RoseWas it because she woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Or the loud chatter from her pervious classes? Or was it that her breakfast wasn't sitting just right? She didn't know but she was feeling rather irritated. It wasn't like her one bit, normally she felt rather happy but today was an off day.
Not wanting to accidentally snap at anyone, who wouldn't have done anything wrong enough to deserve it, Adlai took cover in the girls lavatory.
Quickly she found an open stall and sat down. She began to take deep breathes hoping that may calm her suddenly raging nerves. If this didn't work she'd try every trick in the book that her mother and grandmothers had taught her.
Nonetheless, she listened to all that was around her. Many times has she learned a thing or two from the girls who absentmindedly squawked about every new rumor they heard or had just made up. As terribly as it was Adlai found it quite interesting though she didn't believe any of it since it was all too far fetched, though she was attending a school for wizards and witches so about anything could be real and true at this point.

Haley was not in her usual good mood today as everyone else was used to. Her friends quickly noticed this at breakfast. She wasn't in a bad mood, but not as good as usual either. To the many questions what was going on with her, she had no answer herself. But most of them could understand her and smiled encouragingly at her, as they often saw themselves in such a situation.
Haley had a full day of classes today and found herself exhausted at lunch. But her day was not going to get any better. First someone spilled pumpkin juice on her and then she didn't have time to eat because she had to go and change quickly. When there was no time left the classes continued for her.
While she looked out of the window absently during the class, she envied the students who had the afternoon off and could spend the day outside. But again as if the day couldn't have been worse, she was punished for her brief absence from class. Now, in addition to her already huge pile of homework, she was allowed to write a punishment paper about today's lesson content.
Haley was the first to stomp out the door when the class was over. She was sure that her head was red, that's how mad she was. Before anyone could have approached her, she was way ahead. Her direct route was to the girls' lavatory, in the great hope that she would not run into anyone there. She knew that there was too much going on in the common room to come down in peace.
She had such an anger that the door hit the wall when she entered the room, but she just didn't care right now. She took a quick look around - nobody to see - perfect. She threw her bag into the corner, bent forward slightly and let out a loud scream "FUUUCK!" She walked through the room in quick steps, up and down, but the energy never let up. "Damn it, it can't be!" she now said to herself.
Annoyed by herself, Haley let her back slide slowly down the next wall. She was now sitting on the floor and had put her head back against the wall. She closed her eyes and whispered annoyed "What a shitty day."

@Haley RoseHearing the lavatory door slam open Adlai's heart jumped and she quickly picked her feet up off the ground so that whoever had entered wouldn't see that she was there. Not even needing to listen closely she heard the curses of another girl as loud thud echoed through the stalls.
However, there was something strangely peculiar yet familiar about how the girl was talking. It sounded very similar to the hissing, slithering voices that had followed her through the second semester of her first year.
Slowly Adlai allowed her feet to return to the ground as she stood, no longer feeling as easily agitated but instead now too curious for her own good.
Reaching her hand out she unlocked her stall door, the sound of the lock moving was, of course, as loud as it could be. Knowing the lavatories other inhabitant must of heard it she spared no effort in hiding herself anymore and opened her stall door.
She poked her cloth covered heard out and looked around. Her eyes landing on the young girl who slumped against the lavatory wall. Adlai knew that, that couldn't be comfortable as the wall and majority of the school were made of straight of stone that for some reason was always damp.

Haley sat there on the cold floor and was visibly annoyed by this miserable day. She enjoyed the peace and quiet here and felt safe to be alone. But suddenly she heard something and her eyes shot up. Well that had to happen, she thought. She hadn't seen anybody in the room but of course she couldn't see if there was anybody IN the cabins. She twisted her eyes and hoped that this person would just ignore her.
But of course it had to be different that day. Haley noticed the girl looking curiously over at her. She was wearing a headscarf and Haley had never seen her at Hogwarts before. She was sure that she must be at least a second year student.
Visibly annoyed Haley lookd away. She would love to grumble at her for staring at her, but Haley did not. She knew very well that nobody could do anything about her bad day and she didn't want to take her bad mood out on the next best person.
She took a few deep breaths in and out and tried to get off of her anger, then she looked back at the girl. "Sorry if I disturbed you or was too loud." She said a bit grumpy and although Haley usually wore a smile on her lips, she didn't today.

@Haley RoseAdlai waved her hands frantically in denial as the girl apologized, "No, no! It's fine really. We all have our bad days...though I don't think you want the professors hearing you say things like that." She said as she awkwardly stood across the lavatory from her.
From what Adlai could see of the girl she certainly didn't recognize her, and she looked a bit younger than her as well. Perhaps she was a first year? Or perhaps Adlai had just never seen her before. After all nobody can know everybody, right?
"I know it's known of my business, but do you, maybe want to talk about it?" she offered, knowing full well that it was somewhat easier to tell a complete stranger about your problems rather than a close friend or family member. Though it may not be the same for all people, she makes sure to remember that. Nonetheless, she patiently waited for the girl to reply giving her time to mull over her offer, after all she herself was in no hurry to get to her next class anyway.
"I'm having a bit of a bad day too, if that helps at all." She says.

Haley was relieved that the girl didn't hold it against her but had to laugh for a moment when she talked about the professors hearing her "What are they going to do, forbid me to swear?" She said more to herself than to the girl and smiled about the situation. Of course she would never swear in front of a professor as she did a few minutes before. To be more precise, she generally didn't curse very often, at least not when people were around her.
"That's sweet, thank you," Haley smiled at the girl. In this moment she noticed her yellow robe for the first time until now she had only met a few Hufflepuffs, "but there's not much to tell, it was just a silly day today" Haley shrugged her shoulders. It was the truth, she couldn't tell much more it was just the little many things that came together today. "I guess I just got off on the wrong foot today."
Haley had to smile again, she thought the girl's behavior was very cute and she was a little sorry to meet her in such a context. "That's cute, but no, it doesn't really help." Haley laughed, "but if you like, we can talk about your day?" she offered her. Maybe they couldn't safe Haley's day but hers, who knew. "I'm Haley, by the way. I'm in my first year at Hogwarts." She offered her to sit next to Haley with a quick gesture with her hand. She knew that this was not an attractive offer, after all she was sitting on the cold stone floor in the Girls Lavatory but she simply could not offer her anything better.

@Haley Rose"Nice to meet you Haley. I'm Adlai, Adlai Rod. I'm a second year." She said as she took a seat next too Haley on the damp stone floor and pulled her knees up to her chest. Her ankle length skirt now rose to her shins, her school robes providing some form of comfort for her.
"As for my day...everything was quite the same, though I've just been very easily irritated, you know?" She faced Haley as she rapped her arms around her legs, "And...I bumped into a parsel today."
She hoped the first year would take her hint and understand what she was trying to say.
Because if she did Adlai would not hesitate in taking her down to the chamber and having her meet the other parsels at school.
That way Haley wouldn't feel as though she was alone like Adlai had when she had first found out and didn't know any other parsel yet. Adlai wanted to take Haley under her wing, so that Haley wouldn't feel lost as Adlai had when she first discovered her ability.
Then again Haley may already know she is parsel, and may already know other parels in Hogwarts. Maybe Adlai had jumped to conclusions.

"Hi, Adlai." Haley spoke softly and smiled warmly at her. Haley laughed briefly, "Oh, yeah, I know this one too well." She watched Adlaid make herself comfortable - if you can say so - and listened to her words. Parsel - she had heard that before. She turned her head back to the front and started thinking. Parsel, Parsel, Parsel - she just could not remember.
She looked at her legs and suddenly it came back to her. She had picked up the word some time ago and remembered asking her mother what it was. She puffed briefly and shook her head. Now she could remember the day too good when she asked her mother about it. Her mother got visibly angry and bombarded Haley with questions about how she knew the word and how she came up with it. She didn't get an answer that day and ended up sitting in her room all angry.
At some point she had read it in a book and could not understand why her mother had reacted like that. But still she just couldn't remember what it was in the end. She looked up again and looked at Adlai. "A Parsel." She repeated it now and was a little confused why Adlai told her that. She looked at her slightly confused, "Sorry, I forgot what that was again."
She now straightened up and sat cross-legged down so that she was sitting with her body in direction to Adlai. She was annoyed that she had forgotten, after all she had read it herself and shouldn't forget. "Can you explain to me again what this is? I knew it once before, but I just can't remember."

@Haley Rose"Well a parselmouth is someone who is able to speak parseltongue," she started. Based on the fact that Haley couldn't remember what it was Adlai could only assume that she didn't know she was a parsel. "Parseltongue is essentially what snakes speak...I think." she said not sure if she was fully correction.
"Case and point parsels can talk to snakes and understand what snakes say."
Adlai wondered how many parsels didn't know they were parsels just like she didn't know and just like how Haley didn't seem to know. "It's apparently a rare ability." She added.
Adlai was only repeating what Elena and Flash had told her when she brought them down to the chamber with her since she was too frightened to go down there by herself.
"What do you think about it?" She asked Haley curious to hear what the first year had to say. She also began to wonder how Haley may react when Adlai tells her what she thinks she is. Would she deny it? Could Adlai have been wrong? Would she accept it as if it was nothing?
Strangely, even though it would not fully affect Adlai this was rather nerve racking.

After Adlai's first answer, Haley remembered it again. "Yeah, sure, now that you say it!" How could she forget that. Suddenly all her memories came back. After she had read about it she had been very interested in it, because she had never heard of it before. She had already been fascinated by this ability as a child - who wouldn't have wished to be able to communicate with animals as a child, even if it was only with snakes in this case.
She remembered that at some point she talked about it with her grandmother because she didn't dare to talk to her mother about it anymore. She explained a lot of things to her but also explained that many magicians believe that this is an evil talent. Haley was still very young, so her grandmother only touched on the subject roughly but promised her that she would tell her more sometime.
Adlai's question brought Haley back to reality, "Oh, uh, I'm not sure about that." Haley thought for a moment. "I've never met one, or rather, I don't know if I've ever met one." She shrugged her shoulders for a second, what should she think of it if she doesn't really know it at all. But she was all the more curious to know who was the Parsel that Adlai met. Haley wonder if she would know this person too.
"I think it's pretty..." She paused for a moment, "cool." She smiled. "I don't know how else to say it." In the same moment she regretted her answer, she knew that many people don't take this as easy as she did "um, well, I've also heard that there's a lot of bad stuff associated with it. So I'm not sure, I don't really know."
She was very much hoping not to be judged for her way of thinking, she just had never really thought about it. "But in fact, I would be very interested to know who the Parsel is which you met today." She looked shyly at Adlai, not sure if it was too rude to ask for it. "Do you know more Parsels? Are there many here at Hogwarts?"
