Classes just end for the day and most were probably catching up with friends in the courtyard or common rooms. Or for some studying in the library for upcoming exams or making their way down toward the great hall for dinner that will soon begin.

December has arrived to Hogwarts also which meant holiday decorations and spirit was popping up all around the castle, from the narrow halls to the large great halls. It seemed like there was light and happiness no matter where you turned, not to mention in a few weeks most of the student body would probably be heading home for the Christmas holiday's while some would probably remain within the walls of Hogwarts.

That was still a while off and instead of catching up with friends, Henry dropped off his messager type bag in his dormitory and headed toward the astronomy tower. His slytherin robes was unbuckled at the front and swinging around him as his black handy me down school pants was messing what looked like a belt and his handy me down slytherin school shirt was also untucked not that it matter since classes were already over for the day.

Henry climbed the steps toward the astronomy tower and when the second year emerged, he was a bit happy when he looked around and saw the classroom empty. Henry approached a window of the astronomy tower and leaned his arms upon it as he looked out at the sky, letting the crisp winter air blow against his face.

After finishing their last classes for the day, most would be catching up on homework or hanging out with friends. But instead, Jessie decided to go up to the astronomy tower and watch the stars as she loved to do. She loved watching the stars because they reminded her of home, they reminded her of her parents and her family.

As she ran across the hallways of the school, she feared someone would see her heading to the astronomy tower. Most people wouldn't care, but Jessie thought it was weird that she liked space and thought the others would make fun of her.

She ran faster and faster, realizing that her robe was falling off her shoulders, but didn't care enough to fix it. "I'm almost there" she thought to herself. As she reached for the entrance door to the tower, her robe was now sweeping the ground. She took the next step and immediately felt her foot slip on the robe.

She couldn't bring her hands out fast enough as she slammed to the ground, scraping her knee. The scab that was left was fairly visible as it sat right underneath the brim of her school skirt. Jessie was used to getting hurt as she used to skateboard all the time back home. She picked herself up and limped up the stairs to the tower. Normally there was no one there but today, as she opened the door, there was a boy gazing at the sky, just as she would.

Henry leaned his arms on the railing as he looked toward the sky, astronomy has always been one of the boy's favorite classes at Hogwarts and sometimes favorite topics as he stared at the sky and took slow breaths as if to clam himself.

The second year often found himself in the room staring up at the sky or stars and thinking, going over his problems and worries by himself. Letting his thoughts fill his head and either bring him peace and reassure or sometimes bring on the start of a panic attack or worsen his anxiety.

While both were always a major possibility, Henry did it anyway since for some reason he found isolation to be what he needed in times of worry or hardships to the disappointment of his older brother through. Henry tried the way his brother suggestion though, opening up with friends and meeting new ones. Volunteering to tutor others for classes and what not but nothing help him the same way that standing alone in a classroom did.

As Henry took a breath, he thought he heard footsteps from behind him and at first thought it might have been a professor or prefect even but when he turn around Henry didn't find any authority awaiting to dock house points or award detention for standing alone in a classroom instead of being at dinner.

Instead Henry saw a girl, he thought she might have been a year younger than him so probably a first year and from her robes also a slytherin. Henry offered the girl a small smile as he spoke " hello, are you looking for the professor or for another reason?"

Jessie was startled that there was another person in the tower. Usually when she had gone, it was to be alone where she could collect her thoughts and just have a moment to breath. Jessie had always found a comfort in being alone instead of around people. The only other person whom she really felt she could be around at anytime was her brother, Roman.

Many people saw Jessie as "the weird kid", she didn't have many friends in the muggle world, and the ones she did she kept close to her heart. But now that she is away from her only friends, Jessie lost her sense of belonging which is why being alone was her only sense of comfort.

When she saw the other boy in the tower, so many thoughts were racing through her mind. She took a moment to collect herself and "examine" the boy. He seemed do be a little older than Jessie and telling from his robe, he was in Slytherin too. In the middle of her thoughts, the boy began to speak, he said "hello, are you looking for the professor or for another reason?"

This caught Jessie by surprise. Looking at the ground just in front of the boys feet she said quietly "um hi, I just came to admire the stars...I can leave if you want to be alone though"

Henry listened to the girl speak as he noticed the girl had almost dark brownish hair and was definitely a bit shorter than Henry since the boy stood at 5'3 but she wasn't shorter by a lot probably just a inch or two. However what really made Henry curious was her two different color eyes, one blue and one green which was something be never seen before nor would comment on.

Henry ran a hand through his own hair as his blue eyes sparkled with kindness as he listened to the girl and when she finished, he then spoke " oh no you can stay, it's fine but you will have to wait another hour or two for the stars. Since the sun is only just setting," Henry gestured his hand to the setting sun which filled the sky full of orange and red.

Henry stared at the sun for a few more moments before looking back at the girl with a smile before he spoke " I assume from your robes your a slytherin? First year right?" Henry waited a few minutes before he would continue " I'm Henry, uh a second year slytherin I guess," he would smiled at the girl again and restrain himself from looking out the window as he looked toward her with a smile.

Jessie quickly realized that saying she's there to watch the stars was a stupid mistake. These things tend happen to her often, when she gets nervous she fumbles on her words and spits out the first the that comes to mind. Jessie could feel her cheeks getting red hot in embarrassment and felt instant regret. She had always thought first impressions were important and this mistake made her think the boy thought she was dumb.

"oh...thanks" she replied to the boy ignoring what he had said about the stars. Jessie watched the boys eyes sparkle in the setting sun as she turned to look out the window. His eyes reminded her of her fathers eyes, deep blue that would sparkle in the sun. The boy turned away from the window and spoke with a smile. Jessie smiled back and replied "yeah that's right, Slytherin...first year" The boy introduced himself as Henry "I'm Jessie, nice to meet you" she said.

Jessie noticed Henry smiling at her, she smiled back, but quickly looked out the window again. After a moment, she spoke "So, do you come up here often? I haven't really seen you up here before, or at all." Jessie realized that she had probably never seen Henry before because she was always by herself. Nevertheless, she smiled at him again.

Henry smiled at the good when she acknowledged his compliment, he really thought her eyes were beautiful being two different colors and all. It was unique and different and definitely something you didn't see everyday, Henry wonder if she was a metaphors and had control over it or if she was naturally born with it still either way her eyes were beautiful and unique which Henry always saw was a good thing.

Henry nodded and smiled a bit at her when she introduced herself, he knew that girl was a first slytherin probably because she was wearing her slytherin robes and they looked around the same age but he didn't remember seeing her in his year even though he barley knows other Slytherin's in his year as he spoke " it's nice to meet you Jessie, so how have you like Hogwarts and slytherin so far?"

Hearing her next question was a bit harder for him since he did go there a lot but not to much so he had to think about her question as his anxiety allowed situations to fill his head about how horrible that interaction can get but to hide his anxiety he started to drum his fingers on his leg as he spoke " I usually come here with my best friend or to the library or the great lake. What about you do you come here often?"

Jessie smiled when Henry said nice to meet you. "It is very...interesting. But I like Hogwarts, it is a lot of fun. And being in Slytherin is nice too, although I don't like where our common room is placed, but that's okay" She let out a little chuckle at the end. "It is very different than the muggle world" she added.

Jessie had only learned about Magic and Hogwarts a few days before arriving here. Even though she is a pure-blood, her parents never told her about magic, and kept it a secret from her and her brother until they turned 11. Although it was different, Jessie liked Hogwarts and found a sense of comfort there even if she didn't have very many friends.

Jessie thought about Henry's next question. She wasn't sure if she wanted to tell him she comes up here a lot. She was afraid it might make her seem like a loner and make her seem weird, but she didn't like lying and Henry was being awfully nice to her. It didn't seem fair to lie to him so she to a little deep breath and spoke "I do come here often actually. I find it very peaceful and calming, it helps me clear my head." Jessie didn't know what to say next so she asked "So...uh, do you have any siblings that go here?" Again, it was the first thing that came to her mind.

Henry listened to the girl and nodded a bit to show he was paying attention to her. While a part of him was over stressing the situation like always because of his anxiety another part of him was rather relax in the girl's presence and even through they hadn't talk for long he certainly did enjoy talking to her as he replied " hogwarts is definitely interesting and if you need any help then you can always find me. I'm always happy to help others but I agree the location of our common room isn't ideal but it's nice, at least we get to see within the depths of the great lake," Henry added a chuckle on the end of that last part before inching a bit closer to the girl.

The twelve year old smiled a bit as he listened and found her answer fascinating since hardly anyone else would come up to the eerie quiet of the astronomy tower to clear his mind like him but her she was. Henry smiled as he wished for their conversation to go on when she asked about siblings allowing him to say " I have a older brother who I'm really close with but already graduated from Hogwarts two or so years ago. Than I have a twin sister but she's a squib so... uh what about you, do you have any siblings?"
@Jessie Coyle sorry for the long wait, I promise that will never happen again especially since this is one of my favorite threads and I really want these two to be friends ;)

Jessie looked at Henry as he spoke. She usually was uncomfortable around new people, especially if she didn't know she was going to meet them. But something about Henry was familiar, she didn't feel as uncomfortable and awkward as she usually did. Jessie smiled and said "thanks. Yeah it is nice, I do like the lake." She had always liked lakes and oceans ever since she was little, probably because she grew up around them. Back home, she used to sit at the beach behind her house all alone at night, and listen to the sounds of waves crashing against one another. Jessie hadn't got a chance to go to the lake yet but she has thought about it many times before.

Jessie raised her eyebrows in surprise when Henry said he had a twin sister. She didn't care that she was a squib, she was just happy. "I have a twin brother too!" Jessie said with a wide smile "I don't have any other siblings though. But my brother goes here. Maybe you could meet him...if you wanted to" Jessie rambled in excitement. She let out an awkward smile once again in embarrassment as she looked at the floor. "You don't have to, I was only suggesting" she said.

@Henry Knight It's fine! Take your time!😁
