Cash just finished catching up with their Herbology notes. Today Cash feel like doing it under the oak tree at the Great Lake rather than in their Common Room or at the Library. As they packing up, the cold wind of the Scottish Highland blow. Cash should have been smarter earlier during the day.

In a haste they forgot to bring their hoodie. As winter almost approaching, they should have bundle in something warm. Cash rolled up their parchment and hold the big and thick book of their Herbology close to their chest, hoping the items that they hold bring somewhat a warmth to them. As they walked back toward the castle another wind blow.

"I am going to catch a cold sooner or later"Cash mumbled to themselves. They fasten their pace but they feel like all their body going numb. From Cash's head to their toe feel like all of them turn into ice. "Bloody hell!"All of their belongings stumbled onto the floor. Cash bend down to picked their belongings but they can not feel their hands.

The green eyes then almost decided to leave the book and their parchment on the floor. And make a break towards their Common Room, if only they can feel their whole body. Cash gave up at the second attempt. Now their back rest against one of the pillars in the courtyard. They hugged themselves, rubbing their hands up and down on their arms.

Trying to make their body warm so they can pick up their belongings and return to their Common Room, hoping they did not catch a cold from the cold weather.

Kara's eyes grazed over the scenery, and she swung her foot that was hanging back a forth. Her once white sneakers now stained with mud from past walks in the mud due to the dewy mornings at Hogwarts.

As her gaze scanned across the rolling hills and tress dotted here and there, she saw someone trudging along, shivering. They were only in a short sleeved green polo and a beanie to even try and stay warm. Well wasn't that a swell idea.

Kara watched as this person finally make it to the courtyard, but they dropped all their books.

"Bloody hell!" They yelled out.

The person, who she now noticed had distinct purple hair, dropped all the stuff that they were holding onto the hard stone ground. They tried to pick up, but they were apparently to numb to even do that. They leaned back on one of the cobblestone pillars, it seems they had mostly given up. They proceeded to try and warm themselves up by rubbing their eyes, but there seemed to be no success with that either.

Kara was sick of just watching, so she hopped up from her spot and walked over to the kid. She picked up all their stuff and stored it in one arm, while she used the other to haul the kid up by grabbing their hand and pulling them up. She looked into their green eyes, which sparkled, making Kara blush, only very slightly thought, she just got flustered easily.

Keeping a straight face, she looked closer at them. She had recognized them from first year, but she couldn't put her tongue on the name.

"Here's your stuff," She said, placing the stuff on the wall closest to them so neither would have to carry it.

"You'll get cold without a jacket or hoodie, take mine, I've got enough body heat to spare." She pulled off her hoodie, then handed it to the person in front of her, revealing her t-shirt, but also her burn scar, to which she'd be fine with, unless it was addressed, because for some reason, people love to stare.

"I'm Kara Capricorn, and you are?"

Cash had been busy by rubbing their hand up and down on their arms so they can feel their body to start moving again. The longer they sat on the stone cold floor, Cash could turn into popsicle. Then they saw a dirty white sneakers that stained with mud. Next thing they know, the other person grabbed the green eyes and picked them up.

Cash kind of dislike when people just manhandled them like that though with good intension like the person that now stood in front of the Beater. Cash about to snapped at the other person but their eyes drawn towards their belongings that the girl helped picked it up from the floor. If they being harsh toward the other, they will become somewhat a jerk.

Cash take a deep breath. The cold air of morning fill their lungs. "Thanks"Cash said as they straighten up themselves from imaginary dust. The green eyes swore they met the other person before. "Have we met somewhere before?"Cash for the life of them tried to remembered the girl. The other girl has choppy brunette hair.

Cash smile at the choice of the girl's hairstyle. The girl then put down Cash's belongings to the nearest wall. Next thing they know the girl offered her hoodie, saying along the line she has enough body heat for herself. They did not used with someone kindness, like this girl did. Usually people hang around the Ironwoods to gain something or vice versa.

Cash look at the offered articles, "You do not have to do that, you know"Cash stated then blowing their breath and rubbing their hands together to make it warm. The thought that someone could be so selfless was never crossed their mind. Cash slowly took the offered article and put it on.

The hoodie a bit short on them but the instant warm feeling when wearing it, make Cash in debt to the other girl. The girl finally introduced her name. Cash saw a scar on the girl body and it is look like a burn scar.

Cash want to asked the girl how she got the burn scar but as their mother told them and installed in Cash's young mind a long time ago, it is not polite to pry at other person about their personal affairs and really Cash had just meet the other girl for the first time.

"Capricorn? Like the zodiac thing? You know like Libra, Gemini, Aries-"Cash stopped talking and clamped their mouth. They become a geek when they talk about astronomy and Greek mythology. Cash then cleared their throat. Their face tint with red from a little blush that start to form. "That is a cool last name"Cash grinned.

Hogwarts surely a breath of fresh air. "Forgive my manners. My name is Cassandra Ironwoods. Cas-"Cash almost told the girl with their new nickname that people around the castle called them as. "Cassie for short"Cash told Kara. The only people that still call them that are Lizzie and Rafa.

Thinking about Lizzie make the purple haired missed the blonde Raven. Cash wonders where were their used to be best friend are.

Kara watched as the person put on the hoodie. It was a little small on her, but that's because Kara herself was only a little shorter than them.

"You do not have to do that, you know." They said, rubbing their arms and looking at the burn on her arm, to which Kara was a little mad about, but at least they didn't further pry on about it, so Kara stayed calm.

After the introductions, the green eyed kid addressed her last name.

"Capricorn? Like the zodiac thing? You know like Libra, Gemini, Aries-" Kara smiled softly as the kid went on. So they seemed to like astrology as well.

"Yes, in my family, it's tradition to have your last name be your zodiac sign." She stated.

"That is a cool last name" They gave her a large grin.

Kara smiled back slightly, her lips only twitching slightly upwards.

"Forgive my manners. My name is Cassandra Ironwoods. Cas-" They paused for a second, then continued. "Cassie for short"

"Ah, ok. Nice to meet you Cassie. I don't really have a nickname, so Kara is just fine." She said, giving them a small wave.

Kara looked at Cassie. She wondered why they were out hear in the cold, with only clothing that would generally be used during spring or summer. But a glance at Cassie's things gave her the answer. Kara herself already finished her Herbology homework, as Kara herself quite enjoyed gardening and plants. Kara decided to try and make small talk.

"So, you seem to be interested in astrology. What is you zodiac sign? Mine is obviously capricorn, as my familial traditions kinda give it away."

Cash fidgeting while they stand up. Though their upper body part feel warm due of Kara's hoodie that a little short on them but their lower half are not. Cash definitely curse their chosen of clothing for today. Who know the cold wind of Scottish Highland decided to picked up. Cash still trying to remember where they seen this girl before.

"Yes, in my family, it's tradition to have your last name be your zodiac sign"Kara explain briefly after Cash embarrassing themselves in front of the cute girl by blabbing astronomy. They always do that when they met cute girls. "Wicked! That definitely wicked. To have your last name the same as your zodiac"Cash told Kara.

They never met someone with such a unique surname. Then the girl told the green eyes that she did not have a nickname. "It is fine"Cash smile reassure her. Ever since their meeting with a First Year Gryffindor Katherine Labrouder, there is something inside them that they tried so hard to suppress and hoping that side will never come out.

Kara then seems to picked up Cash fond of astrology. When Kara asked the purple haired what is their zodiac sign Cash grinned. They let out a small chuckle when Kara told them what is hers. "Well yeah, obviously"Cash teased the other girl. "Mine is Cancer. One of the Cardinal sign in those zodiac thingy"Cash stated then shrugged.

They did not want to give away too much of what a nerd they are when it come to Astronomy and Greek mythology. All the knowledge of those astronomy and zodiac signs it is all their mother's credit. Cash took a glance at Kara, still trying to figure out where they met before. With how Kara dress, they did not know which house she belong to.

"Are you by any chance belong to Slytherin?"Cash asked Kara. "Because if my memory served me correctly, I see you before or maybe someone like you around the Slytherin Common Room"Cash scratched the back of their head. They guessing by the limb, hoping their guess are not that far.

"Wicked! That definitely wicked. To have your last name the same as your zodiac" Cassie exclaimed.

"That's nice. I usually think that people would think it's weird..." Kara rubbed the back of her neck, glancing away, but then turning back.

After the question of Cassie's zodiac was asked, they had chuckled softly before answering.

"Well yeah, obviously" Cassie teased Kara for giving away the obvious "Mine is Cancer. One of the Cardinal sign in those zodiac thingy." They shrugged and looked back at her.

"That is true, mine is as well. Pretty ironic, isn't it?" Her voice had a humorous hint to it.

"Are you by any chance belong to Slytherin?" Cassie had asked her "Because if my memory served me correctly, I see you before or maybe someone like you around the Slytherin Common Room"

"Well, your memory must be working, as yes, I am a Slytherin." Kara told them "You most likely saw me with a book near the fireplace. It's one of my favorite places to chill in the dorms, other than my room of course. You also shared a dorm with me last year. But then again, I had much longer hair back then. However, I chopped it all off."

Let's just say, Kara had a really good memory, so it came to good use.

"No es extraño en absoluto"Cash told the short haired with their British - Cuban accent after Kara told them that other might see it as strange. "I mean for me it is not a weird thing at all"The green eyes translated for the other girl. "I wish my family somewhat cool like yours"Cash then shrugged their shoulder.

They keep pulling the hoodie that a bit short on them. They keep fidgeting with the way they stood. With the way how the Scottish Highland cold air blew, Cash hoping by the time they arrived at the Common Room, they still can feel their legs. Cash love winter aside of Halloween but as long as the wind not frigidly cold, they are fine with it.

Cash can not help to let out a small laugh when Kara said her sign is ironic. "Well.. I am one of those uncommon Cancer that many know of"Cash started to explain a bit. "I am not a cry baby. I am not overly jealous of whomever that will be my partner, I am not a possessive person. Well you get the gist"The green eyes then pull a half smile grin.

The moment after Kara said their memory working, Cash smiled triumphally. Kara then explained that she indeed belong to Slytherin and the green eyes might see her near the fireplace with a book. Kara also told the Beater that both of the purple haired and the short hair girl shared a dorm last year. "I know I recognized you somewhere"Cash replied.

Kara then stated that she had a long hair back then but she cut it off. The purple haired about to asked the reason why Kara chopped off all her hair but then again it is not their business to know. "Must be freeing, yeah to have short hair?"At the end it is what Cash asked to Kara instead of prying her personal affair.

"No es extraño en absoluto" Kara listened to Cassie, it sounded like Spanish, but she wasn't sure, but Cassie sure had a distinctive accent, but she later translated her words for her, and she was glad that Cassie didn't think badly of her surname. Cassie then continued to bring up her family.

"Well, every family is different and has their own distinctive features, for me, it's just tradition. For you, maybe you just haven't found or haven't noticed it yet." Kara advised them.

She listened as Cassie explained her differentiation from other Cancers, and blushed slightly from the cute half grin they shot at her at the end of their explanation.

"Must be freeing, yeah to have short hair?"

"Well," She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, avoiding eye contact, thinking back at the fire, but as her eyes drifted off, she shot her gaze back to Cassie. "It has it's ups and downs. A pro is that my neck doesn't heat up that must in the heat, but a con is that it is more prone to the cold right about now. One other pro, which I like, is that my hair is much easier to wash and keep soft, which I really like."

She ran a had through her hair, then tilted her hair down.

"You can touch it for proof."

After that, she lifted her head back up, her own glimmering brown eyes making contact with the beautiful, shimmering green eyes of Cassie. She smiled softly, before speaking.

"Well, I am going to be on my way now." She turned back to the castle, giving her a small wave. "It was nice meeting you Cassandra, and you can keep the hoodie, I don't mind. I have plenty others."

Cash listened to what Kara said about finding a distinctive features in families. The green eyes think back about that topic. "I do not think so"They told the short haired girl. They rarely saw their parents. With how busy their mother at St. Mungo's and their father as Auror who had been missing from last summer.

Maybe when they were younger, yes. But after their 10th birthday, Cash already used only lived with their helpers back at the Ironwoods Manor. Cash noticed the slight blushed on Kara's face but they just think maybe it is from the cold air. Kara then listed the pros and con about having a short hair. Cash smile at that.

Their greens eyes scanned the other girl. Though Kara has short hair, she is beautiful in her own way. When Kara mentioned that she was cold, Cash took off the hoodie that Kara kind enough lent it to them and offered it back to the original owner. "One other pro, which I like, is that my hair is much easier to wash and keep soft, which I really like"Kara stated.

She then ran her hand through her hair and tilted her head. Kara told the green eyes that they can touch it for proof. Cash then touched Kara hair. "Oh wow! you are not kidding when you said it is soft"Cash wondered what kind of shampoo the short hair used and retracted their hand after that.

The Beater only change their hair color once albeit it was a bold color and a drastic one, it is dry as heck. Kara then smiled and bid her goodbye to the green eyes. After some paces up ahead, Kara gave the purple hair a wave and saying it is nice to meet them and Cash could kept her hoodie. The short haired girl told Cash she has plenty of it.

"It is nice to meet you too, Kara"They half-shouted at the other girl in normal speaking volume. Cash then looked down on the article of clothes that they hold. Since Cash still feel cold, they wear it again. The green eyes about to leave the courtyard but they remembered their schooling equipments that they brought along.

Cash picked it up at where Kara had left it off and walked back toward where Slytherin house is located. They whistling a Spanish tuned that their mom usually sing it to them as a lullaby when they were young. Cash hoped this was not the last time they meet Kara.
