Nick hadn't picked up a rag or his wand to help cleaning yet. He hadn't made the mess, so why should he have to help clean it up? Sure it was a pretty self-centred mentality, but that didn't bother the boy all that much. The culprit, along with the other students who were "selfless" or whatever, could carry the workload all by themselves. Frankly, he just wanted to go back to his Potions homework he had come here to get help with.

That mindset changed as his Head of House, Professor Jensen had appeared in the classroom. She must've been relaxing in the dormitory and heard the bang of the cauldrons, causing her to catch the seven students red-handed. She seemed extremely perturbed and quickly gave all of them an unofficial detention. Surprisingly, the first one he had gotten during his time at Hogwarts since he wasn't exactly the most obedient student.

The boy next to him, Henry, had spoken up against all of them getting detention by taking the blame for himself, something that Nick hadn't expected. He was a lot more selfless than him, and while he normally found that behaviour weak, he saw it as a strength in the boy. "Well seven pair o' hands are better than one, we wouldn' want ye slaving away while the rest o' us go about our day." Nick said, about to clap his back in reassurance before seeing Cash had already done that for him.

The actual committer of this crime was still up in the air. Any suspicion Nick had on Henry had completely vanished after what he just did, and he didn't really have enough information to pinpoint it on one specific person. He thought it possible for this to have been done by multiple people, a duo in the group perhaps that had been lying about their true intentions for being here, but that's neither here nor there. Frankly, Nick wanted to know because he was naturally curious, not because he wanted them to get their rightful justice served to them or whatever.

And with that, Nick finally picked up his wand and started casting Scourgify where he could. It probably wouldn't help his image with the people who were already pissed at him for not helping clean, but that didn't concern Nick. He simply didn't want to get in hotter water than he already currently is with Professor Jensen.

This was bad.

The moment she had heard footsteps and the moment she had seen a person enter the room, she had known that she was in trouble. Somehow, this was worse.

Still, Autumn kept a neutral, calm face as the woman spoke tiredly, and kept herself from exhaling in relief when she heard that she would not be receiving detention.

More relaxed now, she went back to her cleaning.

Ironwoods said some stuff about helping. Moon comforted Henry. Even Stewart did.

The Gryffindor first year was silent, as was Alina.

Autumn did not particularly care. She cleaned, and thought about two things. A part of her brain was brainstorming ways to more efficiently clean, while the other was going past everything said to try to find out who had been the culprit.

If anybody said anything after that, she would not hear, too consumed by her own thoughts. The only exception would be if someone talked specifically to her, and addressed her by name, or even simply tapped on the shoulder to show they were talking to her, and draw her attention. If nobody spoke to her, she would eventually finish her cleaning and leave. If someone did, she would possibly remain and reply, or decide that they were not worth her time, ignore them, and leave anyway.

The group started to clean or at least most them did but still even through some suspected Cash no one knew who that they were the one behind it. As tensions grew and the preteens grew rather impatient with cleaning up the mess and not knowing who to blame that was when the professor or head of slytherin walked in.

The head didn't seem to care whose fault it was or if they all would take the blame instead they assign the group as a whole detention which was to clean up the mess. Something the group was already doing but now was being forced although a few tried to step up and take the blame while others stopped them so the group as a whole would take the blame together.

When the group would leave however and bid their goodbyes to each other it seemed like they wouldn't see much of each other after that as they go on with their Hogwarts years but how wrong that would be instead the group as a whole or in separate smaller groups would find themselves together a lot more for both good and bad reasons. So the only thing I can wish this group is luck.... luck for the rest of their year and next seven or six years at Hogwarts.
