The Hunt for Muggle Literature
[font=times new roman]Private thread with @Robyn Finley.
October 17th, 2020. Saturday, 2:30pm.The library at Hogwarts was one unlike any other. Juniper was sure that there were thousands and thousands of books hidden, all waiting to be picked up and read, and partially believed the rumour that said the library at Hogwarts had no end. She was fascinated by the shelves and shelves of books, often running a hand along the spines as she walked past to find a book to read, eyes wide and full of wonder and awe. The Slytherin was sure that there wasn't a single book in this library that could bore her. All the books she had picked up so far had been interesting to read, from quirky fairytales about exploding cauldrons and textbooks about the dark arts.
Recently, though, she had begun to miss her bookshelf at home and all the books that were in it. Although it was definitely a lot smaller than the one at Hogwarts, it had all her favourite books, all in one place. Juniper wasn't really sure that Hogwarts even had Muggle books, and she was too shy to ask one of the Assistant Librarians, still not quite used to the concept of house elves and slightly freaked out by their enthusiasm. Sure, they had a lot of classics... Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Shakespeare... children's classics, too, found a place on the shelf. But Juniper had never liked classics, and all she wanted was to sit down and read some science fiction or a horror story. She hadn't thought to bring any books with her, and the school owls were always a little too slow for her liking.
Initially, Juniper had tried to search for them herself, but the library was just so big and she grew disheartened. So today she was going to ask the librarian for help, something she was a little nervous about - she hadn't had many opportunities to speak to her, and she had no idea whether Miss Finley would snap at her for her stupidity or lend a hand. She was watching the librarian at her desk from behind a shelf, silently rehearsing what she was going to say and wondering when it would be a good time to ask.
"I don't remember being this nervous about everything," she muttered to herself. With a soft sigh, she leant back against the wooden shelf and smoothed down her skirt before stepping out and walking up to the desk with a smile. "Hi, uh, Miss Finley? I was wondering if you could help me find a book - a few books, really. Do you have the time?"

The Hunt for Muggle Literature
Interacting with @Juniper YuLibrary work was not always glamorous, well, it actually generally wasn't to a lot of people that viewed the library profession. It was seen as something for old ladies who had nothing better to do. Robyn was kind of like an old lady, she religiously drank tea, she knitted at home, vintage was her favorite. Everything about her screamed old lady except for her age. At the ripe age of 27 she had found the profession that she saw herself in for the rest of her life.
There were often days where the work became frustrating. Sending out her assistants that were needed in the library to go fetch books that had long waitlists, sending out warning owls for past-due books, and fixing the dreaded dog ears people put in the books. It was incredibly frustrating. She always offered a bookmark when people checked books out, they were simple. She made them herself out of parchment, cardboard, and twine. Something easy and simple to prevent the disgraces to show up in the books but of course people did them anyway. It was one of those days when she had just woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
Her hair was up with her wand holding it in a haphazard bun to keep it from falling out of strained eyes. The sweater she donned was helping keep her sanity in tact with it's warm orange softness keeping her ever comfortable. Even her normal patterned pants had been swapped for plain black to keep it simple. From the outside, she just looked like a mildly tired librarian trying to do her job. Her idle thoughts were broken however when a student approached her desk, someone that she wasn't familiar with. Her normal smile found it's way after a couple twists and turns through her day. "Oh yes of course, what are you looking for?" The frustration was slowly being taken over with the ever familiar excitement of helping a student discover what they needed to.Outfit Reference
