As Robert was rummaging around, searching the table, he heard Henry remark that their little team was now up to three pieces. Thinking back, Robert remembered that Heather and himself had both found one, which meant that Henry must have found his first piece. "Hey, nice job!" the first-year congratulated his friend. After a couple more seconds of searching, he spotted another piece stuck between the table and the wall. "And, that's four!" he exclaimed happily.

At about the same time as his two teammates, Robert realized that the three of them against the one other girl probably wasn't very fair. He thought he remembered there having been five members of the hunt, but he might have miscounted. Seeing Henry walk over to her, the Ravenclaw also turned to the one remaining member of the hunt not currently part of their alliance. "Come on, it's much more fun to team up with other people!" he called across the room. Realizing they hadn't met before, he followed up with invitation a cheery wave and introduction. "I'm Robert, by the way. I don't think I caught your name...?"

After inviting the girl to their team, the first-year went back to focusing on where to search next. He realized that the light from Henry's Lumos earlier was starting to fade, and probably wouldn't last much longer. Deciding to make the most of the light while he still had it, he turned his attention to the one part of the room still lit up by the spell that nobody had searched yet, the other side of the long table. After his success on the right side of it, he thought it would probably be worth it to keep exploring.

Searching the small table without any success, Heather puffed in annoyance. How in the world a place holding so many possibilities could be so boring? Just as she prepared to wander in some other section of the room, the girl moved a bit too fast, accidentally dropping the only piece of candy she'd found.

Just great! Crouching down, the blonde muttered a small curse under her breath, trying to find the treat. While she eventually caught sight of it, that wasn't the only thing the Ravenclaw would notice from that angle. "What is a ribbon doing here," Heather muttered absentmindedly, reaching out to untie it. Surprisingly, inside the long piece of material was something written- another clue? The first one had yet to prove itself to be helpful, so what if this one was useless too? What if any clue pointing towards the trunk was a bluff, meant to sidetrack the participants?

Just when Heather wondered if she should spend the last few minutes of the hunt left following the message, she felt something touch her arm, making the girl jump slightly. Ma dai, please don't tell me there are bugs too! Looking behind her, though, the girl was relieved to find out that it wasn't actually something that touched her, but someone.

"Great job, Henry!" The Ravenclaw would reply as the boy let her know of his discovery. As she suddenly remembered what she had wanted to previously ask her friend, Heather cleared her throat. "Look, before I tell you what I found, don't you think we should ask Miranda if she wants to be in our team too? I mean, she is alone against the three of us, since the Gryffindor girl left some time ago, and she's our friend too. And, uh, your girlfriend, obviously." Giving a cheeky grin, Heather continued. "Back to the Hunt. I didn't find any candy, but," she stopped, somewhat for dramatic effect, "I found this!" Dangling the material in her hands, Heather explained to the Slytherin what was the clue about.

It seems like inviting Miranda to work alongside them wasn't only Heather's idea, since the blonde overheard Robert encourage the Ravenclaw to join their team. Turning back to glance at her friend, Heather sent her a warm smile, before approaching the open door. She would have gone to the long table, but Henry's light was beginning to fade out, so she assumed there was no point in it. And, besides, did anyone search the entrance from the beginning of the hunt?

While it seemed like the participants had already been working together for a while, exchanging clues and checking in on how everyone else was doing, they still weren't all officially working together. Robert, Henry, and Heather, who were already a declared team, seemed to realize this and extended an offer for Miranda to join them. The Ravenclaw didn't answer them yet; perhaps she needed a moment to think, or maybe she'd just zoned out for a second, because she didn't do any searching either.
Sector A1:
The door was something none of them had thought to check so far. It was understandable--why would something be hidden in the door when there were so many other places to hide things?--but Heather was the one to think outside of the box and make sure they weren't neglecting something important. It was a good thing she did, too, because she would spot a key tied around the door handle facing the wall. Henry's Unlocking Spell hadn't worked, but would the key?
Sector B1:
Robert had come across one piece of candy on the long table already, so why not see if it hid another one? After all, it was now or never with Henry's light quickly fading. He would not find a piece of candy or a clue, but rather an unlit candle. Useless as it was, but as his eyes landed on it, the tip would light up, blue flames appearing out of nowhere. It seemed as though him merely looking at it had triggered some sort of enchantment, but in reality, Bridget had quietly cast the Bluebell Flames Spell. The flames were cold and incapable of burning but made for an excellent light source to replace Henry's Lumos. [Note: For the duration of the Hunt, whatever Sector Robert is currently in will have a +2 bonus on discovery rolls, which will also serve to nullify the effects of dark areas.]
Sector C2:
It had been a while since Henry had done any actual searching for candy, displaying his inclination for magical solutions. Getting practice in for duelling couldn't hurt, anyway. While Heather personally wouldn't investigate the clue she'd found, the benefits of working as a team shone through as Henry followed the ribbon's note. The spell wasn't particularly powerful but did the job, revealing a piece of candy right where the clue had said it would be. He would grab it before lowering the trunk once more. [Note: Lumos is now out.]
Conclusion:
Bridget was a little puzzled at Miranda's lack of action for a few moments; they were nearing the end of the hunt, so certainly this was the time to be doing something rather than sitting around. Either way, at least she already had several treats to show for. The Slytherin had been keeping an eye out for someone discovering the candle, so when Robert finally did, she was ready. "Caeruleus Inflamarae," she muttered, taking great care to line up her wand perfectly with the tip of the candle. The spell went off without a hitch, creating a new, completely safe light source now that Henry's Lumos was out.

Henry quickly picked up the piece of candy that was under the chest but instead of pocketing it himself and knowing that Robert already had two candies while Heather had one. Henry handed heather the candy he found as be spoke " I believe this is yours Heather even through I had to retrieve it for you," the boy laughed a little before stepping closer to Robert before he would say " another piece from, bringing our candy count up to five mate."
Henry smiled at Robert and then toward Heather as he was glad that he was working in a team with them except he still felt strange as his eyes glanced over toward Miranda who didn't respond to their offer of teaming up and feeling bad for her especially since she was is girlfriend, Henry would walked over to her and smile as he would began speaking " hey Miranda, how are you doing with the hunt? You probably have more candies than me I'll give you that which is why you should definitely join our team, it will be a lot more fun trust me. Just uh think about it," he smiled at her before glancing around the room and remembering that they said nothing about magic being against the rules so he decided to stick with the magically solutions as he wander over to the ghosts.

Henry looked at them for a bit and remembered his others tried their luck over here so it was possible that all the candies there were already found but it was better to check to be sure then to pass it by however checking each individual ghost would probably take too long so instead Henry would point is wand at the ghost as he would say, " Ventus."

Robert was glad that he had decided to take this time to explore the other end of the long table while the leftover light from Henry's spell still made it easier to see. Just as the light was about to go out, the first-year caught a glimpse of an object. It didn't look like a piece of candy, but just as he was leaning in it look more closely, it burst into flames! Startled by the sudden burst of light in the now dark part of the room, the boy jumped slightly. On closer inspection, he realized that it was just a candle, apparently charmed to light up when looked at. He did notice something strange, though. Although the candle was lying sideways on the table, burning tip against the wooden top, the piece of furniture did not seem to be catching on fire. Reaching over to pick up the candle, Robert realized that the blue flames didn't give off any sort of heat, only the light.

As Henry turned to the Ravenclaw, telling him they were now up to five pieces in total, Robert smiled. "Nice! I didn't find another piece of candy, but I did find this candle," Robert lifted the lit stick of wax to show to Henry as he spoke. However, his attention was soon returned to the older girl as he noticed she hadn't done anything since being invited to their alliance. Wanting to make sure she was alright, he walked over to her. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, concerned. As long as he was over there, he thought he would also check out the pumpkin patch she was still standing next to. It didn't seem like anyone else had found anything of value in them, but they also didn't have the candle he was currently holding. Maybe it would help him search the shadows of the large, orange, fruits.

Holding the key tightly, Heather made a dash for the other side of the room, hoping to manage to get to the trunk before Henry's Lumos went out. Only, on her way there, she was stopped by none other than her Slytherin teammate.

"I believe this is yours, Heather, even though I had to retrieve it for you," Henry said, offering Heather a piece of candy. Looking surprised towards the boy, the girl let out a small smile. "Thanks, Henry, but this candy is also yours. You are doing a great job so far, by the way," she said, a small smile plastered on her face, before showing him the key she'd found. "I found this over there," the blonde continued, pointing towards the door. "Hopefully, it will open the trunk...I'm getting fed up with how much time we spent on it."

As she excused herself, Heather suddenly slowed down her pace, noticing Robert has found a small candle. It seemed like the Universe worked in his favour today since he had been quite lucky up until now. Snapping out of it, the Ravenclaw focused back on her task and approached the trunk, ready to try and open it- even though her partner didn't have to worry about the darkness anymore, the girl didn't have that advantage, so she had to be extra careful. Hopefully, this was going to be the last time she or one of her teammates wandered back to that side of the room anyway.

Miranda still hadn't moved or responded to the other participant's invitation to join them. Bridget was starting to worry about her a little, but whether or not she did anything else, the hunt would be over in a few more minutes.
Sector A3:
Robert didn't use his newly discovered candle to continue exploring the once again dark corner of the room, but the light it provided would still help his search of the pumpkin pile. Everyone else who'd looked there had had rotten luck--literally, in one instance--but Robert would change that pattern. Pulling off the top of a carved pumpkin, he would find a treat inside, adding it to his growing collection.
Sector C2:
Heather had a key and she'd seen a lock earlier that Henry's Alohomora hadn't worked on. It was only logical to put the two together and see what happened. The area with the trunk was quite dark, but she knew where she was going and didn't need optimal lighting to find the lock and insert the key. The key went in easily and, as she'd hoped, unlocked the trunk. As she opened it, a loud bang sounded and black and orange confetti exploded out from it. Heather seemed to have excellent reflexes, just barely avoiding all that confetti flying straight into her face. She hadn't gone to all that effort just to uncover a trick, had she?
Sector C4:
Once again, Henry resorted to magic rather than simply searching for things normally. His Wind Jinx would work, buffeting against the ghosts and revealing a piece of candy. It wasn't the best choice of spell in close quarters like this, though it did do its job.
Conclusion:
The trunk Heather had unlocked was not, in fact, a trick. After the confetti had cleared, Heather would be able to make out the faint outlines of... something. Katrina had risen from her seat at the staff table and was crossing the room towards Heather, illuminating her wand on the way. The light from the Lumos would reveal several packages of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans along with several mini pumpkins. They would all be leaving with a decent amount of candy, split rather evenly with Henry sharing one of his with Heather, plus the gifts found in the trunk.

"Nice job everyone! Since there's only a minute or two left on the clock and you figured out the trunk, we're going to end it here. Take one of each of the things in the trunk along with whatever candy you found and then you can head out. Happy Halloween!"
Candy Count:
Miranda: 3
Henry: 2
Heather: 2
Robert: 3
