Aravis nodded her head agreeing with Charo. "It is hard not being able to look for my mother. I often write letters to her. Don't apologize for something you didn't ever do. I appreciate being able to talk to you." Aravis for once wasn't sugar coating anything. She rather liked Charo. She spoke her mind freely and Aravis admired that. Charo was right about Aravis not liking living with her aunt and uncle.

"I probably shouldn't tell you this but I trust you, one time when I was little I got wand from my father to help me practice magic, of course I was too young to be allowed at the time. I spent my time studying spells. I found a nice hex I liked and I hexed my Aunt and Uncle into next week. I was rather proud, my brothers found it hilarious along with my dad. It's like no matter what I do they always find a way to ruin my day." Aravis huffed angrily at the thought of them. Her Aunt Farrah was literally a witch, the mean kind with warts and snaggle teeth of pure evil that muggle kids talked about. Of course her Aunt didn't truly look like that. Farrah was a rather pretty lady with almost no flaws.

Aravis was happy to have someone she could trust now. Even if it stared off with Aravis in a foul mood. She was glad she could relate to some of the things Charo said. Until blood beliefs were brought up. "My family has pure-blood beliefs. I guess the only reason I believed so for the longest time was because when I was little I befriended a muggle-born. My Aunt was furious when she found out a locked me in my room for ages. I guess I had thought or people who didn't have pure blood to be a nuisance because of that incident. However, you're different from the ones I've met. You are a lot like me in ways. I guess the only thing truly different is that we come from different backgrounds."

Charo was happy to hear that Aravis trusted her. It meant a lot and she didn't want to do anything to lose that trust, even if she didn't know Aravis too well, they were getting to know each other. At this point Charo would consider Aravis as a friend, but she wasn't sure what Aravis thought, maybe she would class Charo as her acquaintance, nothing more. Although Aravis said that she (Aravis) trusted Charo, surely Aravis wouldn't trust just an acquaintance.

"I'm glad you trust me and I like what you did. It's a small thing to get back at your Aunt and Uncle, even if it gets you into trouble, I'm sure it was worth it." Charo hoped she was right, it did sound like everyone else in the family enjoyed it. She did wonder why her Father didn't stop Aravis's Aunt and Uncle from making Aravis feel the way she did.

When Aravis told Charo the next story it made her feel special. Aravis had said it herself, Charo was different, the two of them were alike. "Well, one of my cousins, May, she does what she cans to get back at her parents. She gets into trouble, she does things they don't like, that kinda thing. My other auntie, Eloísa, she managed to convince May that a good way to annoy her parents would be to go against the whole pure-blood belief. Eloísa believes that everyone's equal, but Eloísa is a bit of a reckless person, especially when she was younger," Charo stopped, realizing she had started going on about something that wasn't part of her original point, "Anyway, May really got on her parent's nerves and at first the whole 'going against the pure-blood belief' was an act, but now May actually believes what Eloísa told her so that's a good thing. It sucks that May going against the belief annoyed her parents that much, it just proves that we have a long way to go before less people believe in pure-bloods being better." Charo nodded, "You're right though, we are very similar."

The black haired girl nodded when the other said what Aravis did to her Aunt was worth it. It was, it so was. Just that brief moment when she was the one in power and her Aunt lost it. Aravis gave a smile as she listened to Charo's story. She liked to hear about other families, especially Charo's, which she found incredible interesting. "I of course never told my Aunt this, but I believe no matter what blood we have we're all equal in some ways. I mean we both have magic do we not?" She said with a happy laugh at the end.

Aravis new despite the fact she thought that when she went back for the summer her Aunt and Uncle would just force pure-blood beliefs back on her. She would be stuck in a loop of believing and not believing. A cycle that would almost never seem to end. However, now Aravis had a new friend to be there for her. Aravis's trust was not normally this easy to gain, yet for some reason she felt like no matter what she could trust Charo. "So, to get to know each other more, what's your favorite animal?" Aravis asked with a hopeful smile. It was nice to have someone who understood her.

There was a lot that Charo could say about her family. Lots of stories, lots of complicated relations and fights. It was all a lot of fun catching up with her parents and going to family gatherings. Now that more children were going to school (both muggle schools and magical schools) the family gatherings would have to be timed to fit everyone's breaks. It would probably take place in England, it usually happened in the country of the oldest family member so that whoever it was didn't have to travel, but with that there came lots of arguments, but the rule always remained the same. "Maybe at some point I could share some gossip, the next break I have we'll be having a family gathering and that brings lots of new news," Charo offered, hoping Aravis would agree. It would be fun to share some of that with a friend.

Charo nodded, she agreed with what Aravis had said, "Yup, you're right, all witches and wizards have magic," she said, smiling when Aravis laughed. It was nice to see her friend having fun. Charo assumed she was having fun, she wasn't sure if this was classified as something that was fun, but it was nice to talk to Aravis, to make a new friend. Charo was pretty sure Aravis felt the same way, after all, it seemed like most of the people she (Aravis) had met weren't people that got along with her too well.

"So, to get to know each other more, what's your favorite animal?" Charo didn't even need to think about the question, she already knew an answer to it, "Jaguar. They're the best animal by far," she said with another smile, "What about you? What's your favorite animal?" Charo asked. She liked how random the question had been, it was nice to talk about things other than their families too and learn some new things about each other.

Aravis formed a smirk at the word gossip. "Something always goes down at my place. I'll be sure to tell you every juicy detail." She would hold true to that statement. Every single detail would be spilled. When Charo said her favorite animal Aravis couldn't help but smile. "I like those as well. I would have to say my all time favorite is a snake. I grew up owning one so I was rather close. I guess it suits me that I'm in Slytherin."

This was one of the best things that had happened to her since her youth. For the first time she had a friend. Not her brother, or a maid, but an actual friend. "You know, I'm really glad I got to meet you. Your basically the first actual friend I've ever had. It means a lot to me." Words couldn't express how happy the black haired girl felt. She suddenly understood why the happy-go-lucky people were so positive. They had found people like them selves. Her eyes glimmered with hope while reflecting light from the lake shining to her side. She could now be like those people who she envied and despised. Aravis was unstoppable because now she wasn't so alone.

"We can exchange our family gossip," Charo smiled at the thought. They could sit somewhere nice and comfortable and warm and could just talk and talk about what had happened. She liked having a friend like Aravis who she trusted with information about her family, Charo knew Aravis wouldn't tell anyone. "You had a snake as a pet?" Charo asked, suddenly jealous, "I mean, snakes came around our house and stuff, but I wasn't allowed to keep one in the house. I wish I could have a dog or something, I tried convincing my family to get me a bird, I told them it would get me ready for taking care of an owl at Hogwarts. I don't have an owl yet, but I really want one." Again, she was going on about something that they weren't exactly talking about. "I like snakes though, they're really cool," Charo added, trying to steer the conversation back to it's original topic.

Charo felt herself smiling when Aravis spoke next. "I'm really glad I met you and I'm glad that you're glad that you met me," Charo frowned, trying to figure out if she had said that wrong, "Yeah, that's right," she said, smiling again. "Well, I'm really happy to be your friend." Charo wasn't sure what else to say, she often found it hard to express herself in moments like these, so she tried changing the topic. "So, what's your favorite color?" Charo asked, "I'm sorry for changing the subject like that, I don't always know what to say when it comes to moments like these, but I really am happy to have met you," she explained, hoping her friend would understand.

Aravis nodded with a smile. "Yes we owned a snake. My younger brother Maven was terrified of it. The snake's name was Lyssolin. She was absolutely beautiful. She was fun to talk to!" Her snake was like a stuffed animal to a kid, and everyone knows how attached kids are to stuffed animals. "I'm hoping to get a cat for a pet here. Wouldn't want to set a snake on anyone by accident." Aravis laughed a bit as Charo tried to figure out how to word a sentence. "I would have to say my favorite color is lime green and blood red. Something about those colors make me happy."

She found it funny how alike they both were. Neither could talk about one thing without straying off topic for a bit, and neither seemed to know what to say at times. Aravis smiled to herself at the thought. She leaned back a bit to much from her sitting position and wound up falling flat on her back on the grass. Her smile dropped and turned into a melancholy expression. "Before I forget to tell you, there are some rumors going around the school about me on occasions. Don't listen to them. They don't have the full story." Even though she had kept all of her darkest secrets inside her Aunt however loved to tell almost everyone about the incident.

Charo still found the fact that they owned a snake really cool, she had always thought that snakes were really awesome, especially the venomous ones. She had seen a venomous snake once, only once though, and she hadn't gotten very close to it, her mother had scared it away with some some spells before Charo could take a good look at it. Charo smiled when she heard that Aravis's younger brother was scared of it, "I don't blame him, if you don't like snakes they can be a bit frightening," Charo commented, "But, I don't really know if he likes snakes or not," she pointed out.

Charo liked the color red, it was another thing that the two of them had in common. She was happy they were so alike, they were different in their own ways, sure, but it was nice to have someone who really understood her. Charo found her mind wandering off, thinking about all the things that the two of them shared and the things that were different about them. From this conversation alone there was a fairly long list, about the color, their families, their beliefs, that kind of thing.

She found herself being brought back to reality when Aravis fell backwards, Charo couldn't help but giggle at the girl who lay on her back in the grass. She stopped as soon as the smile faded from Aravis's friends. Charo wondered what was wrong, but she didn't manage to ask before Aravis answered the question. "Don't worry, I won't listen to the rumors, you can always rant to be about it, I'm... well, actually I'm not that great at listening, but you can still rant!" Charo said, hoping she had managed to make her friend feel better.

"Thank you Charo." Aravis smiled happy to know someone wouldn't believe the rumors. She enjoyed talking to her new friend but it was getting late. She would need to head to her dorm soon to reply to an owl her brothers had sent, however there was still another hour or so she could talk. "In all honesty I believe had I not accidentally set Lyssolin on Maven, maybe he wouldn't have been so afraid of her. She was a good snake. She understood how I felt about things." Aravis missed Lyssolin dearly. When she was young she would often shut herself in her room just to hangout with Lyssolin without her Aunt threatening to get rid of her pet. After all, the snake was her best friend. She missed her best friend dearly.

"Once I let her out of the house. I was with her of course, but people started filing reports saying I was crazy for taking her out, and that is was a safety hazard. Lyssolin wouldn't hurt anyone though. She knew not to. When I came back from the store with my father one day-" Aravis felt her eyes getting teary. She didn't want to think about it. However, it was best someone knew about how much she loved her snake. "The ministry, they told us we had to put her down for safety reasons. Lyssolin had never hurt anyone or killed anything I didn't give her to eat. I was only Eight. My Father couldn't bear to do it so the ministry took her and put her down. I miss her dearly. It was unfair."

Ava walked out of the castle. Being on the grounds made her happy and she enjoyed spending times outside. She took a deep breath and looked at the landscape around her - beautiful. Absolutely astonishing. Breath taking. Something you would see on postcards and not in real life. A wallpaper. Great. Charming. Gorgeous. The fairest of them all.

She chuckled. As usual, she had her camera in her hands, ready to take pictures of the castle, of the great lake or to be completely honest whatever is worth doing it. She scanned the area again, checking if there was no one to photobomb her pictures.

Unfortunately, there were some people. Two, to be exact. Even from afar, she could tell that they were girls and that they certainly were not going to move if she asks nicely. The girl shook her head and walked towards them. Maybe they will? she asked herself and then a genius idea popped into her mind.

A surprise picture.

Something he always did if she wanted to make something more dynamic. Something that looked great if done correctly. Something that if done right could also get you attention. The girl grinned and started crouching on the ground behind her. When both of the girls stopped talking, she took the picture.

Click!

The sound was loud and since she was close, it alarmed the girls. She quickly got up and waited for the image to appear... just like magic.
