Aldor said something about not really making much about his birthday. And that was okay with Rose. Some people really didn't do too much for their birthday.
Doesn't really pay attention to anything? Well, he seemed to notice Rose, pay attention to her. And he seemed to appreciate her. It took someone to pay a lot of attention to appreciate the quieter redhead.
Rose's eyes widened. "That's next week," she said softly. Then, more jokingly, she said, "Well, why didn't you tell me sooner, silly? Now I only have a week to get you your present." It was clear she was just teasing him, and wasn't at all mad or fazed by it only being in only a week, or by him not telling her sooner. And that's when an idea began to brew in her head. An idea to make Aldor feel super special. Because he was. He was a very special person, and everyone, especially Aldor, deserved a day to be special, and a day to be celebrated just for still being alive another year.
She was so glad she had asked.
"Do you have any hobbies? Like, other than, you know, reading and listening to heavy metal music."

Aldor would let out a quiet sigh, he was definitely a bit concerned about her knowing when his birthday was, he likes Rose a lot, after all, she was his best friend, but he is not exactly used to the idea of receiving attention.
He was scared of him being nothing more than an obstacle for Rose, making her lose valuable time trying to spend time with him, as always, Aldor was being pesimistic, but he did his best not to focus on the many worries he had, instead, trying to think of something else, luckily, Rose changed the topic just in time.
"Other hobbies, well- I probably didn't tell you before but- I do like to bake every once in a while- I'm not as good as my aunt but- I'm getting there, on the other hand- I enjoy pretty much anything that my friends enjoy as well- I really don't mind, I'm interested in new things-"
Aldor would turn back to Rose once again, given her a shy smile, he was clearly happy to be tbere, he didn't tell Rose, but he has not talked to any of his other friends since Halloween, but he prefers not to tell her, she might get worried because of it.

"Ooh, baking," Rose commented, licking her lips. She did a little baking, just simple stuff, like waffles, pancakes, and she had gotten good at apple pie. She had also baked a cake over the summer holidays, and if she didn't say so herself, it was really, really good. "What kind of things do you like to bake?"
Oh, she had forgotten about the chocolates! Rose inwardly facepalmed and picked up the chocolates, moving them over to set them in between Aldor and her. They were dark chocolates, since she liked those better. Rose remembered, when Aldor was given a choice between the chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, he chose the chocolate, so she thought of him as a chocolate guy. Plus, dark chocolate was just better than any other kind of chocolate. Rose thought so, anyway. "Help yourself," she said, gesturing to the chocolates and opening the top a little wider so that he could reach them easier.
Rose pulled her hair over one shoulder. "Did your aunt teach you how to bake or are you self taught? I think you might have said something about her teaching you, but I forgot." Rose smirked. Sometimes, she was kind of forgetful, and Aldor talked about his aunt often. Rose knew he really looked up to her because of how she supported him in everything he did, and everything he was. The world needed more parents or guardians like that.
