Jacob was to be excused from the Great hall, by saying he had to go to the
" boys lavatory (restroom)". But it was only to find an excuse to get out of the crowd, and by that, the Hufflepuffs. Which was the reason he left; he felt as if he was in the wrong house..
"No no no! I can't be in the Hufflepuffs house!"
He sighed and leaned against a door that he hadn't noticed was there.
"But I shouldn't be acting dramatic..maybe.."
He then gently sat down next to a door and leaned his head against it.
"Maybe they can see a change in houses? I mean-"

Jacob then heard a rumbling noise near him. With his eye's wide open he looked around fast. Nothing..nothing was there. Jacob then shook his head in disappointment of himself.
Stop imagining things.. He thought to himself as he got up to hear another noise.
M-Maybe i'm not imagining things..? He quivered in fear and looked around him.
Yet there was still nothing. Nothing in that lonesome hallway.
Jacob then sighed.
" I need to get some rest.."
He started leading himself out of the hallway but something had stopped him. Or..someone.. Yes, someone had been walking down the hall mumbling something that was hard to hear. But you could tell by their voices..could it have been professors?
Oh no! He'd thought panicking. Jacob knew he had to think fast..but where would he go?
The voices or voice had gotten louder and closer. His heart was racing fast.
Jacob looked all around where would he-
Aha! He thought to himself. A door! There was no time to wonder where it would go, so he just opened it and gently shut the door.
"Phew.."
He mumbled quietly. He then looked about the room..It looked abandoned. Lonesome...like no one cared about fixing it up.
"Why would such an old room be in such a-"
He then shut himself up to see someone in the room with him.
Jacob then backed up, he wanted to ask who they were and why they were here but he was to startled to ask. He then took a big gulp.
"Who are you?"

Karkat wandered the lonesome halls, he was supposed to be some place right now. with his satchel at his side he crept down the hallway to his hiding spot. it was an abandoned room that didn't seem to be due for reconstruction any time soon. he had made this room his little spot where he would draw and write. he pulled out his sketchbook to continue what he was working on last, a pencil sketch of a small scene. a group of people bustling, but in a clearing in the middle stood a boy. alone. perhaps it was metaphorical, could be. he scratched away at the paper mapping out details of the drawing that realistically gave the vibe of a 2013 tumblr quote. he had been in there for quite some time when suddenly, he jumped out of his skin as the door behind him opened and closed. the voice that followed made him whip around only to realize it was just a fellow student. "jegus mate you scared me", he laughed as if this was a normal situation. the boy before him backed up against the door, they looked to be about the same age. "i dont think we know each other, I'm Karkat", he took a cautious step towards him, sticking out a hand to shake.

Jacob was not expecting company that day. He wanted..to be alone. But it appeared plans had turned a differently. He didn't want to talk to a stranger either but for the fact that another student had been in a broken down place like this; had to be worth the conversation.
"I-"
He'd been cut off by a sound in the halls. And not minding the other student, he leaned towards the door to listen for whomever was on the other side. What sounded like a person walking by, had gone away.
Jacob then sighed in relief and looked at the student.
" Sorry about that. I'm Jacob..Jacob Malone.."
He then looked about the place.
"Who would want to be in a place like this..? I mean it is-"
Jacob then looked back at the other boy that was in the dark room.
"I said that outloud didn't I? God im so-"
He then mumbled under his breath calling himself names.
I'm so stupid.. He thought to himself in embarrassment. Jacob looked at the other student. Jacob was trying to figure out what house he was in. It came to shock to find out he was in the same house he was in. Had he been proud of being a Hufflepuff? Or had he hated it as well as Jacob had? So many questions had wandered through his mind as he awaited for a reply.

"nice to meet you",he smiled towards him. Karkat tried to look as collected as possible considering he was a creeper in a bathroom at the time. kinnie moment. He sat silently as Jacob glanced around the dusty room. the boy almost chuckled at the questioning, "its not exactly the best meteor in the veil but its good for small time" he tried to keep it light as he reassured him,"no you're fine",he smiled, the stranger stared at the ground and muttered to himself. in a way Karkat felt bad, "don't beat yourself up about it, you're not stupid", he cautiously stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. this could either be taken as strange or comforting, he didnt know the slightest about comforting people but he needed to be a good samaritan right now. Despite the cold steely demeanour he liked to think he kept, helping someone in need outweighed being stoic by a metric ton. he hated to see people sad. he placed both hands in his pockets, rocking on his feet. "so you're a Hufflepuff too? what do you think of it?", this was that trademark awkward conversation starter, it was sure to cause a stir. the good kine of course. he cocked his head to the side and smiled, waiting for a response.
