"I know right, the fact that the 'x' is silent threw me off at first as well" She laughed with him in agreement. Luckily she learned that it wasn't proper to pronounce the 'x' from hearing how all the others had it right before they arrived, saving her from any embarrassment.

"I knew it" Akari chirped kiddingly. She was surprised that he actually agreed with her and knew that it could quite possibly still be a joke, (although it hadn't sounded like one) but whatever it was it had immediately made her grin at him again.

"Mhm, indeed we are allowed to bring them home, but I am afraid I know the answer to that question as well as you" She said with a small shrug. Now that she thought about it was a little peculiar that they were allowed to take their wands but not use it. She had only just received her wand in the past few months, but she understood and could only guess how tempting it was going be to have it there and not be able to use it. It probably would be much easier to just confiscate them, however, she wasn't complaining since she wouldn't want to part with hers over every single one of the breaks.

Wait, if he was so surprised about this then it must mean that the students of Ilvermorny got theirs taken away?
"I am assuming that they take yours away at Ilvermorny then? Isn't that really frustrating?" She asked and scrunched her nose disapprovingly.

French language was weird. They added a million extra vowels at the end, but an x there and it was all good. Weird, but also super cool. Since Drew hadn't met a French person yet, so all he really knew about them were what he had heard and the stereotypes that came with French people. Drew had nothing against French people, he just hadn't met any.

It was really cute how she scrunched her nose up. Drew didn't know why he randomly noticed that, but he did.

Drew shrugged, refocusing on their conversation. "It is really frustrating, sometimes. I mean, you rely on your wand for everything throughout the whole year, and then you gotta leave it there. Some people get super mad about it," Drew shook his head. It wasn't too much of a big deal to him, but it sure was infuriating sometimes. On one hand, yeah, it made sense that they weren't allowed to take their wands home because of how tempting it was to use them. But what if you were in serious trouble? Having and using your wand could save your life! Plus, since he had gotten his wand, he felt weird whenever it wasn't in his pocket, like a safety blanket.

"Have you met anyone from the other two schools?" he asked her. She had asked him earlier, but he hadn't asked her yet.

So, her assumption was correct. The students of Ilvermorny were in fact not allowed to take their wands home with them. How awful. She nodded her head to Drew's statement on how some students get really angry about it. She knew well that she would be one of them.

She then shook her head to his next question suggesting that she had not. "Nope, not yet actually. I haven’t really gotten an opportunity to” She responded with the tiniest sigh.
Well that was really only partially true. She probably could have gone around and introduced herself to the students if she had actually wanted to. She wasn’t a particularly shy person per se, but she did have a habit of being a little bit awkward and usually wasn’t the type to just randomly strike up conversations so she had yet to make any other acquaintances.

As the two had been conversing the golden rays of the afternoon sun had began seeping into the room slowly but surely. Akari was then distracted by a small grumbling in the pit of her stomach, which reminded her of the time. She had been so engaged in the conversation with this boy that she had forgotten that it was already lunch time.

She sprung up from the Piano stool she had been sitting on and made a small gesture towards the door as she exclaimed ”I just realized, it is time to go eat lunch now, would you like to join me?”
Whether Drew had accepted her offer or not, this had been a lovely afternoon and she was glad to have made such a charming new Ilvermorny friend.
