Needing Advice PV Rose Moon Closed

It was a beautiful day out on the Hogwarts grounds that November afternoon. Not too cold, but not hot either. A perfect fall day.

Rose had gotten the message from Alina, asking her to meet her on the grounds. Rose was excited to see her Hufflepuff friend again, but she always kept wondering if everything was okay with Alina, and this was her chance to see that, as well as catch up and spend some quality time with one of her best friends. They really should start making a point to see each other more often, it was really sad that they barely ever saw each other- Alina was such a good friend, Rose would hate herself if she let them drift apart.

As Alina came into view, she seemed outwardly okay, and was reading something. It brought a smile to her face, just seeing her "Alina!" she called, fast walking the rest of the way to her friend. She would then crouch down, lowering itself into a sitting position, then crossing her legs over each other, sitting cross-legged across from Alina. "Hi. How are you?"

She peeked over to glance at what Alina was doing. Oh, Herbology. Rose had only halfway finished that. "Oh, I still need to finish that," she said to herself, making a mental note to do so as soon as possible.

"It's good to see you, too." Rose felt honored about her saying that she trusted her and valued her opinion. "Thank you," she murmured.

Okay.

Who was missing?

What adult could be missing that she was worried about? Was it her father? Juliette? Her grandmother? Or maybe someone who worked at Updown Court? Maybe someone she didn't even know about? Rose narrowed her eyes just the slightest bit, as if in suspicion. "I would say maybe two weeks, a month or two at most."

Though still carrying a hint of suspicion in her gaze, Rose was now more worried and concerned. Alina had already gone through enough, with Clive leaving, Bella leaving, a new boyfriend, and keeping up with all her classes. And it was only November.

And, the question she was most wanting to hear about- "Why? Is someone missing?"

Psh, of course someone was missing. Why else would Alina ask about it? Homework? And why all the buildup if it was just nothing. She had asked for advice, not an answer to a question. So, maybe the last question was a little stupid. What she really wanted to know was who. "Who's missing?"

Clive?

No, not Clive. Clifton had gone into hiding, and she wasn't supposed to know if or when he would come back- that hardly counted as "missing," did it? Plus, he wasn't an adult.

Rose turned it over in her head. Mid-August was definitely more than two months. It would have helped if the staff back at home knew something about where he was, but if they, too, had no clue, that was a tough situation to be in. Rose cocked her head in thought. "Maybe you could tell a professor? They might not be able to do anything, but it can't hurt to ask, can it? And maybe they can investigate and find out what's happening. Especially with Winter Break coming up, you kinda deserve to know where he is," she reasoned. Maybe, just maybe, he father didn't want to be found. Or maybe he was in serious trouble and telling a professor could save his life. Rose bit her lip, not sure about all of this. "I'm sorry- this really sucks, Alina."

Lost how? It was kind of ironic how Alina was making a map and yet was still lost. Alina asked her how she was. Rose pulled a lock of her hair over her shoulder, twisting it around her finger. "I'm alright, though..."

Alina didn't need more to be dumped on her. But she wouldn't want her to keep it all in, either. After all, Alina had trusted her with her problems.

"Though you know how my sister is kinda lonely at home? My mother... she's been working a lot, and Jess says she's not at home more than usual, which doesn't make sense since she has less kids to provide for at home than last year, you know? And... the weird thing is that Jess told me she would always be so smiley and happy and I know she loves her job, but I can't fathom why, if she's working more, she would be happier. So I sent an owl to my aunt to spend some time with Jess so she wasn't so alone, and my mom, she's so prideful and doesn't ever want to accept help. She blew up at my aunt and sent me a howler. And now Jess isn't allowed to write to me or my siblings, and I'm just... furious at my mom," Rose said. Wow, she was rambling, and she felt bad for dumping this on Alina. "I know Jess is fine, but I can't believe my mother would do that." She did look mad, but it was the muted, mild mad, since it wasn't Alina's fault her mom was like that. She hadn't told this to anyone, since nobody had really asked while giving her the opportunity to vent on them.

She shook her head. "But I'm okay," she finished. "So how is Bella settling into Beauxbatons? Is she making friends, settling in, stuff like that?" Alina had mentioned being in touch with Bella, so Rose hoped that her twin sister was okay. She sure was a character, Bella Rosier.

"And how are things going with Logan?"

Rose bit her lip, nodding at her spectacular analogy. Maybe Alina was right. Maybe she had gotten an extra job, or had to work more hours, or got fired and absolutely loved her new job. But... Her mother was a healer at St. Mungos, and she loved her job there, working with herbs and cures and helping people. And it paid way more than some other jobs. Maybe Rose was just assuming the worst, and didn't know all the details.

But that was what was so infuriating- not knowing. Not knowing why or how or what or who or anything. "You might be right. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions or Jess is exaggerating." And maybe she should give her mother a break. She inwardly decided to get back in touch with her and ask her what was up with her not spending time with Jess. Except, the last time she tried to ask her that (multiple times), it wasn't specified.

Oh, Bella. Why was she priding herself in something that wasn't even exactly true? "But at least she's settling in there," Rose agreed, nodding. It would suck if Rose moved to another wizarding school, especially with leaving all her friends. Though Bella might have needed a fresh restart.

Rose had thought this might happen. Alina was so happy to be with Clive, and devastated when he left. She was probably setting the same expectations of Logan that Clive had exceeded. Of course, Rose's philosophy could be way off. "Aw, I'm sorry."

Hearing Eyre's name made her blush and smile despite herself and the former gloom of the conversation. "We're doing great. He's... he's struggling a little bit with family things, but him and I are amazing. He's actually staying over at my house for the holidays." Oh, how excited she was for that. A week plus of spending time with Eyre at her house, being together. With her siblings and her mom, and some time with extended family, it would give him the break from everything that was happening in his life. Plus, everything is better with Eyre Reeves.
