History/Background Story

Eirian was born in Aberystwyth, Wales to a muggle father, Emyr, and a Hufflepuff alumni, Arianelle. She's an only child, which has always seemed like a good thing to her. The community she grew up in was mostly muggles, so while she knew about magic, her mother was always cautious about using it.

She was a wild child when she was younger, always running around and getting into trouble. Despite that, Eirian was always good at getting out of trouble or at least minimising how much trouble she actually got from her parents. She was a relatively spoiled child, as an only child her parents gave her a lot and she had no one she had to share with, but her mother always taught her to behave kindly to others regardless.

Eirian had a lot of pets growing up- cats, dogs, lizards, fish, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and owls. The animals she has back home while away in her first year are a hamster (Ysbryd), a budgie (Cynllwyn), two leopard geckos (George and Marley), a St. Bernard (Rhoswen), as well as the family owl (Bryn). She's very interested in animals and spent a lot of time with her pets. The only books she would ever willingly sit down to read were books on animals- specifically Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, she read her mother's copy so many times.

Neither she nor her family was surprised when her Hogwarts letter came. She was very excited to start learning magic and more about magical creatures at school. The idea of going away for school and staying there for the school year was also exciting to her. When Eirian asked, her mother told her that she had no idea what house she would guess Eirian would be put into. The family went shopping soon after and got everything she needed to start her school life.

Eirian made her first school friend on the Hogwarts Express pretty quickly. She ended up sharing a compartment with an English girl named Aaron, and the two talked the whole way to Hogwarts.
