"Watch it!" the first girl got the whole thing started as she intentionally bumped herself into Alina's side as she carried a stack of books from the shelves across the Library. Managing to not have the stack topple over, she moved aside, ignored the girl, and walked on. So now it was girl Number 2's turn who wasn't happy with the lack of results from Number 1. "Oh, if it isn't the Blabbermouth. Blabbermouth Rosier. When you're not ruining people's lives in the Study Room, you come to the Library?" the other girl said. Alina walked on.
She got to an empty table where a third student quickly sat down, spreading across her bag and a notebook. "Seat's taken," the girl said and looked to the other two before laughing. Alina glared slightly at the Ravenclaw girl and then to her two friends but knew to keep her mouth shut - or at least she would try her best.
She then turned but the two other girls were now standing there, blocking her way. She was tired of this. Tired of them. "MERLIN, WILL YOU JUST LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE?!" she shouted, causing now EVERYONE to look her way in the Library.
She felt foolish and the three girls began to laugh at her losing her cool but she turned and began to walk quickly away, dropping a book in the process but she didn't bother to even pick it up. She just wanted far away from these bullies as she could get. Unfortunately though, she still needed to be in the Library because she had an upcoming essay due on the Medieval Assembly of European Wizards for History of Magic.
"Such language," she could hear one of the girls saying as she distanced herself. She found a spot away from them, at the other end of the Library. They hadn't followed - yet anyway. It was probably due to the fact that all eyes were on her right now.
"...Are all Ravenclaws like this?" she muttered softly, just really letting out her anger. In a huff, Alina sat down on one of the tables and quickly opened a book, trying to keep focus on the task at hand and not the tears that wanted to form. Across from her sat a girl and she glanced up, about to apologize for slamming her books down so suddenly, when she realized she too had a Ravenclaw crest on her cloak.

Lily had lead herself in the library trying to finish her herbology homework. After she entered, she looked at a Hufflepuff and three Ravenclaw's in some what of a bad situation. She moved over to a table farther away, so she wouldn't get distracted. She didn't know whatever the hell was a mandrake and was digging through all her textbooks for the smallest piece of information describing what the screaming creature was. The potted plant, just seemed so off--weird, it seemed to imaginary. Even in her dreams--the creature would've never showed up.
"MERLIN, WILL YOU JUST LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE?!" the bullied Hufflepuff yelled. Hopefully the girl that shouted wasn't going to sit down with - *SLAM* books hit the table. Lily jumped again. She felt like yelling at the Hufflepuff DAMMIT GIRL! RELAX! ARE YOU ALRIGHT? OR ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE? but the girl was already going through pain Lily just decided to nod slightly and go back to her work.
"...Are all Ravenclaws like this?" the girl looked up at Lily. Confused, Lily didn't say anything for a moment. Hesitantly Lily's blue eyes flicked back to the angry Hufflepuff. Deciding not to make matters worse; or make the Ravenclaw house worse, she decided to go for the tame Lily, "No, I don't think so. Though, there are the occasional bad ones, I don't think they're all like THIS." she added with a somewhat comforting smile and then using her eyes to point to the girls. Who just waved slightly before hovering over their books and snickering.

She felt simply foolish to have said what she said without placing any attention on the girl who was a Ravenclaw herself. "Sorry," she muttered in apology, not because she didn't mean it but because she was rather ashamed. "Rather presumptuous of me to lump all of one house in together like that, huh?"
Still, Alina had yet to have any luck at all when it came to friendship with Ravenclaws. Those that she met came off as too arrogant, too much a know-it-all, too condescending. Others were too dedicated to their work to have any fun and others wanted to place blame for their bad grades on others - like those girls across the library.
Alina looked to the stack of books in front of her, realizing the one that had dropped along the way was one she thought would be most particularly helpful in her essay and she sighed. What she did know was she wasn't going back for it.
She'd have to make do without and hope that her essay was enough to get her by with a decent grade. She opened to the back of the book to find what page she should be looking for in the index and peeked back up to the Ravenclaw across from her. "I must seem like the biggest loser this school has ever seen right now."

Note • nothing at the momentThe girl seemed somewhat embarrassed by the question she asked Lily, suddenly realizing Lily was a Ravenclaw. She muttered an apology, saying how she was wrong to lump all the houses together like that. Lily just smiled slightly, "No worries, I'd have done that too, if Hufflepuff's were doing that to me." she winked before staring at her Herbology homework. Staring at the essay she had just started writing, she muttered angrily at her book, "If I could just figure out what a freaking mandrake is."
After a few moments of silence, the young Reeser side glanced at the Hufflepuff, who seemed just as angry at whatever essay she was writing. Just as she looked up, the Russian turned her head back to her page only to stare at it for awhile longer, "I must seem like the biggest loser this school has ever seen right now." Lily didn't know what she could've said to the girl. Trying to pick things up, she faced the Hufflepuff again, "Though I've only known you for like, ten minutes, I can tell you that you aren't. Honestly, I've been here for twenty minutes and I still don't know what a mandrake is." the word mandrake she rolled off her tongue, pronouncing every syllable. She laughed slightly, "It must seem somewhat weird that I haven't introduced myself yet. Well, I'm Lily Reeser, a first year Ravenclaw, obviously a Ravenclaw." she added playfully.

"Alina. Alina Rosier," she introduced herself as well. "Second Year, Hufflepuff."
She paused a moment to look at the girls and only one was glancing her way now. Maybe she was becoming boring to them that evening and they'd move on with something else, somewhere else. She could hope.
"Mandrakes are so strange," she voiced her opinion. "They're this plant that looks like a plant and all but the roots resemble a human. They're screams are something awful and we were taught they were fatal although sometimes I wonder. I mean, one would like to think they don't set that kind of stuff out for first years to learn and yet...this is Hogwarts." There were fires and mosps and disappearances. There were horrible quidditch accidents and violent duels. Anything could happen at Hogwarts.
"All I know is that when working with them, we're provided with ear muffs and no one was foolish enough to believe otherwise and we all wore them. You'd be absolutely mental not to," that was her word of advice anyway. Her description of the magical plant was quite vague and she knew the books would do a better job of explaining them.
"I know I'd like one about now though. Unpot the little bugger and throw it in that general direction," and she glanced over to where those older girls were that had been giving her a hard time.

Lily could just wish for a name so beautiful and unique, the darn name Lily stands for a plant and many girls carry the name. With a small huff of jealousy, she glanced at the elder Ravenclaw's who were acting innocent and one was watching Alina. What was up with them? Alina seemed nice enough. Wasn't mean, had a first good impression, and was a Hufflepuff. No, don't compare stereotypes Lily. Okay, scratch the Hufflepuff part.
Alina voiced in her opinion about mandrakes, how they looked like humans pretty much besides the roots. "Ew, that's gross." hey, it truly was! This plant that looks like a human and screams like one?! Oh my, that's unbelievable. This is Hogwarts though, the place where her late-mother sliced open her arm...
She added about using earmuffs to block the screams of the mandrakes, out of pure fear about these creatures, Lily put her Herbology homework away and pulled out her Astronomy homework. At least Astronomy was something less dangerous, hopefully.
"I know I'd like one about now though. Unpot the little bugger and throw it in that general direction," Alina peered over her shoulder at the three girls who were still trying to act innocent. Lily laughed. "If I were you, they'd be deaf by this point." It was true, it wasn't like Lily was the person to let things happen, or wait for them. Staring at the Ravenclaw trio, a feeling of revenge ran up her spine. She wasn't sure why, but she wasn't going to go into the 2nd-7th greenhouses to steal a mandrake, right? She would be that dumb.
But would she?

"Would silence them from talking much too, I would think," Alina smiled at the thought. If they couldn't hear themselves talk, maybe they'd have to learn sign language. How cruel though, really! Still, these girls did more than just bump her in the hall occasionally...they sent her to the Hospital Wing!
She decided to stop focusing on them though. Getting attention is what they wanted, that and an escape goat for why they did so poorly on their OWLs last year. "You could always go to the greenhouses to try and see one for a better idea on what they are. If we get caught, I can attempt to distract MacTavish and his glorious self," she said with a smile.
It was no secret for almost all who knew Alina Rosier to know she had a crush on Professor MacTavish. Not in a ...get him fired sort of way...but rather just a harmless little school girl type crush. Herbology was one of the few courses there at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that came relatively easy to her and yet her grades didn't always reflect that because she'd get easily distracted in watch the professor move around the greenhouse and zone out on what words he was saying. She hoped this year to keep her focus just a little better than the one prior.
