Interacting with @Damion White , Mentioning @Aemadall Zarcovich

Alina arrived a little late but she still got to see the good stuff of the race. She took a seat, cheering for her boy as he raced along on his broom. She knew quidditch would be a great sport for him but the Gryffindor house team was full and so racing is what he decided to go with and it was also a good choice. He was brought with both skill and luck.

"That's it, Logan!" she said as she watched what she could, encouraging him although he couldn't hear her from the stands. "GO! GO! GO!" and it was when she heard Logan's name that she glanced over to the boy next to hear. She gave him a good look and remembered him from the Tarot Card readings. Damion White, one of Logan's best friends.

"Cheering on Logan as well?"
she asked, not meaning to interrupt the conversation he had going but also wanted to chime in. She gave a small smile as a greeting as well as apology for the possible intrusion.

"I really hope he does well. I know how much he loves being on a broom." He had been denied much of the wizarding world his whole life and loved so much about it in the short time he knew it.

Let your confidence shine, pretty girl. <3

Before she jumped to search for Xailah, she'd get surprised that Pericles revealed his participation in the organisation of the upcoming ball. She shrugged and nodded at him. She would be on her own guard, but it did calm her mind that he offered his help when something would go wrong. When, not if.

Meenauh was trying to observe all the bits of the race track she could reach with her vision, forgetting there was a tool to simplify the task. She nervously dashed her stare from one side to another, silently analysing every player she could fixate on.

Once Pericles claimed Xailah not being herself, she realised what was happening with an "Oh, you-!" and with a relaxed motion, she returned to her seat accompanied by Pericles' explanation and would use the tool to search for her friend.

"I hate when she does that, to be honest," she said with sort of a laugh instead of anger, of course, "I know it's in her nature, but she's always choosing a wrong moment for this. Have you heard that story from the library? The one where she morphed into me and confronted Aurelia?"

She quickly remembered the story told by Xailah. It was funny at first, but not funny afterwards. The candies effects were not known back then, but as the origin of the ill-behaviour was found out, it became clear. And then that Vladimir boy — who gave him the candies? Who told him to invoke chaos? Was it all relevant to the same case?

"How did you learn she's a metamorph, by the way?" she asked him to reveal the story behind it and would tell the library story after if he claims he hadn't heard it.

The hint of anxiety on the edge of Meenauh's voice had driven Pericles to scour the flyers faster. That his flashy device managed to be of help came as a relief to him, and his smile was wrought with the satisfaction that comes from aiding anyone. It faded quickly, however, when Meenauh lightly expressed unhappiness at Xailah's abilities as a metamorph. In fact, to hear Meenauh disapprove of anything their mutual friend did was so abnormal, Pericles mutely looked her way with an expression of soft shock. There must be a good reason for it. "No," the boy admitted when asked if he had heard about an incident involving Aurelia in the library. "I can't say I have...." Societal standards insisted he abstain from asking. But curiosity pressed from the inside, struggling to surface....

Meenauh distracted him with a question. The boy brightened. "Just from watching her, really. When we first met, her eyes were always flashing- the pupils flicker when she's excited, or upset." He hadn't thought the yellowness of them odd, nor her eerie pallor. Who was he to judge anyone by appearance, with his bleached-beige hair, silver eyes, or his own ghastly skin tone? "And her hair is always moving even when there isn't a breeze. I saw her grow a set of antlers, once. It was extraordinary. Sometimes, she has this sort of...." Peri placed a hand on his head and wiggled one finger upwards, imitating antennae with a cheeky smile, eyes aglow with endearment. He found that particular tell especially entertaining. "Have you seen it?" Ultimately, those passive powers were somewhere between charming and practical. It was becoming easier to tell what she was thinking as time went on. Still, the concept of Xailah turning into someone else, especially for some sort of trouble, had planted the suggestion that they had dangerous potential. "What was that you mentioned, about the library...?"

When Pericles described how he observed Xailah, she smiled. Xailah would love to hear that. Meenauh naturally and happily giggled once Pericles started to show the antennae, which Xailah sometimes created on herself involuntarily as the performance was done well by Pericles.

"Of course, I've seen it," she answered through the giggling.

The boy was smart. The boy was funny. Xailah would love to hear him. Why was she on a broom in the first place? Sometimes she could track the intentions of the metamorph. Actually, with the days passing, she found out that there was no pattern. She was just guided by her inner... something. And most of the time that 'something' was completely random.

"Oh, the library," she suddenly frowned. The sorry had a darker tint to it and involved the people that they were (all three of them) investigating, "Yeah," she paused before continuing.

"It involved Xailah and Aurelia. And also that boy — Vladimir — indirectly. Xailah got candy from him, which is like, why would you take a candy from a stranger, right? So she ate it or ate Aurelia, I don't remember. And it made her... craving for..." she stopped not quite sure how to proceed or put it, "basically, she described it as an excruciating desire to taste Aurelia's flesh."

Okay, from all the ways to describe it as shallow as possible, Meenauh decided to describe it colourful. Good job.

"And Aurelia wasn't herself as well as, from the later conclusions, it seemed Aurelia considered Xailah to be too pretty to stay alive," she widened her eyes, "so she tried to kill her."

She flinched and shivered.

"The twist of the story, as to why I talk about the metamorphism, is that right before that encounter Xailah decided that it was... I don't know what she actually thought... but she metamorphed into me."

That was quite enough for now as the story was chilling.

"Thank Merlin it ended okay. I recall someone must have stopped the fight before it was too late. Xailah lost some hair in that fight," she made a thinking face, "Actually, I never found out whether Aurelia knew it wasn't me that day."

"And Xailah refused to metamorph into me since then. I asked her to just demonstrate it, but she refuses. It seemed funny to talk to 'yourself'. But I guess the experience in the library wasn't as funny and I can understand that."

She would turn quieter, look at Pericles once with a wide sad smile and would stare at the field to watch her friend playing a deadly game.

Peri grinned through her giggling, an expression that started as a restrained smile, but soon broke free with a flash of pearly teeth. He was reminded of their summer-holiday parting on the train, how he had lost himself in a moment of childish emotion and thrown his arms around she and Xailah both. That was not to say this was a memory he regarded with any modicum of shame. If anything, the kindness they'd shown to his exceedingly rare outburst of affection- or maybe just the hugs themselves- had sealed the lid on their friendship. Peri's propensity for trust and sentiment would make the following story all the more difficult to believe.

It began with mention of Vladimir. That was an elusive Ravenclaw if ever he had seen one, a person tied to many strange sightings and sour encounters. He had testified against Harry Potter in the recent murder scandal, had been seen at the ball carrying strange liquids in a large bag, and of course, had been trailed by a chunk of Ravenclaw when he journeyed into the forest. Had he been seen since...? It seemed he'd done something even more horrific, something Pericles hadn't been privy to prior to this moment. Laced candies. He was quick to connect this to the incident in the hospital wing, where a Gryffindor- Galton- had seemed stark raving mad after eating enchanted sweets. Peri's gentle mouth was drawn into an uneasy frown. When first he heard the name, his eyes narrowed a fraction behind his glasses, though they went wide at what followed. Galton had tried slobbering on students. To hear Xailah and Aurelia had eaten the same cursed candies, only to be pitted against one another to fatal degrees, filled his stomach with the weight of dread.

It was in a stunned silence that he heard the rest, too shocked to commentate or interject. Pericles was a painfully loyal lad. His bleeding heart had difficulty believing that anything Xailah had done, in that instance, had been of her own volition. To steal another's identity was a truly foul crime against society, yet- as in this moment, during the race- he couldn't fault a metamorph for using another's identity as an advantageous tactic. The boy ignored the idea that he may have been more offended if it was his face being worn by another. No: his blame was placed on the one who had obviously played a hand in this crude game. Irritation hardened his frown while he stared broodingly at the omnioculars in his lap. On glancing up and seeing the sad smile Meenauh expressed, it lessened, and his frustration was tempered down into a soft simmer.

"Vladimir has been up to all sorts of strange things..." he muttered, letting the crowd's din cover their conversation from inquisitive ears. "Where are his parents...? Aren't any of the professors investigating his behavior?" The twang of offense implied Pericles was now taking Vladimir's schemes a mite more personally, hearing their friend had been a direct target to them. "How can a student just, do these sort of things, and get away with them? I read an old article of the Headliner that said in the year before I came here, a boy blew up one of the bathrooms and threatened to murder faculty! I don't understand, Meena." Pericles' life had been structured like a well-oiled machine. Misbehavior was punished, hard work was rewarded, and mistakes- after a stern talking-to- were forgiven. He was ever so slowly coming to terms with the fact that the world beyond Dralt Manor was not quite so simple or organized.

Meenauh squinted as Pericles mentioned Kaegan. He was dark enough to never mention his name. Few people knew it was actually Xailah, who knew him probably better than others. Pericles didn't need to know about it, probably ever.

"He is... or was... quite a pathetical being, to be honest. Not sure if he's still at the school, to be honest. He's a Ravenclaw, so I guess you could... check?" she answered Pericles with caution, selecting her words with precision, "I would personally have him expelled as soon as possible, but you know our school — there is always something that can cover things up."

She turned from him to lazily observe the field. It seemed the game wasn't going to go anywhere. She couldn't see the students clearly, not mentioning Xailah couldn't be seen at all anyway. The eventlessness of the sports was digging the boredom pit inside her and she was very close to falling into that pit.

Her stomach made an intriguing sound, which signalled her to go and fetch some snacks.

"Our conversation is getting more interesting than this tightly-plotted and suspenseful game and I think I'm getting hungry," she said, locking her weary eyes on Pericles, "Would you like to accompany me or wait for me here? There is some probability I will return," she smiled and gracefully started to float towards the exit.
