Compensation PV Adlai Finished

She beamed at Adali unable to prevent the smile from breaking out. "Wait, really?" That's great news!" She said though the Gryffindor was secretly relived. This meant that whatever had been inspirng her to go down there was no longer present and as such, Elena was relieved to hear that for once in this turbulent school, there was still a glimmer of hope that presented itself. "Maybe we did something but this way, you don't have to worry about it anymore!" She said the thought of investing effort and energy into something that wasn't even there anymore had saved Elena a lot of unecssary risk and concern. Truth be told, Elena still did not know how the voices had come and gone so quickly, it was like they had not been there in the first place but she suspected it had something to do with their little trip down to the Chamber.

Her attention was quickly captured when the young Hufflepuff procured up the stuffed animal, a hippo with the most adorable, smiling face she had seen. It was a truly a work of art as she took it her grin grew even wider running her hand over it enjoying the feel of the fabric and texture. "I love it." She said softly looking at it, so full of joy, so happy, a nice little stress reliever and she could not be any more content. "For me? But why? I didn't even do anything?" She said, well, not anything important enough except accompany a friend in troubled times but wasn't that what all friends did naturally? She reached out to pull Adlai in for a appreciatve hug. "I dont even have anything to repay you with." The Gryffindor said as she plopped the hippo down so it sat there looking up at her, it made for a cute sight.

"I wanted to make you something that symbolizes our friendship, so that even when we're apart, you can think of the times we've spent together." She said almost bashfully. So far no one had ever asked her why she was giving them something, they had only ever said thank you. So far she had never seen the stuffed animals after she gave them to her friends. A small corner of her heart worried they didn't like it or that perhaps they had given to someone else, but then again who she was to tell them what to do with it. It was a gift after all, it was their's the moment she gave it to them.

"I probably won't be able to write to you over the summer since my mom keeps saying she had big plans this year. I'm sure we'll see each other again though, In the new school year. Maybe we'll both have new information on what's going on then? And if not, we can keep searching together!" Adlai was very motivated to help Elena help herself. As confusing as that may be. Her life long mission was to help as many people as she could, weather they wanted to help or not.

"I'll treasure it." She said smiling as her hand ran over the stuffed animal one more time. Something so simple yet so full of joy, it was amazing how even the most simple things could mean the world to the right people and Elena was glad, she was glad she had at least found one person in this stone cold castle that she knew she could rely on no matter what obstacles were thrown their path. The Gryffindor made a mental note for the near future to repay Adlai in turn, maybe she could Transfigure a gift for her or something, Elena would have to get creative but it was a challenge worth taking. Perhaps a lifetime subscription of Choclate Frogs would do the trick, she had to laugh at that thought, she knew a few people who would not mind that at all.

"That's fine, just make sure you don't forget about your partner in crime too soon." Elena would say joking a bit. As far as she was concerned, if you were crazy enough to go into a place as crazy as the Chamber of Secrets, you were automatically friends, no question about it from her viewpoint That lingering thought of what could be the root cause behind Adlai's voices still lingered but she pushed it away, if the Hufflepuff said it was gone, it was gone. No need to pursue things that had resolved themselves and end up in a whole world of trouble. Elena was just trying to end the term on a good note and this little encounter had proved to her this was a very good note to conclude on.

“Forget? That’s nonsense. Forgetting would mean that you never existed and from what I know, your one hundred percent real!” Adlai joked as she poked Elena’s arm as a confirmation that the girl in front of her was indeed real and not some sort of illusion.
“Well, I gotta go.” She said rising from the chair she had sat herself in at the beginning of their uncounted.
“My homework won’t do itself, though if it could that’d be amazing.” She slung her book bags straps over her shoulders, the sound of heavy books and crunching papers could be heard from inside. Adlai paid no mind to it.
“I’ll see you soon, ok?” She said.
Adlai hoped that was true. She hoped that Elena would not forget her and what they did over the summer since the time they had spent together was brief. No...Elena wasn’t the type to forget such exciting things. Knowing her it was probably going to be in the very back of her mind for a long time.
Perhaps in the future Adlai should take Elena down the chamber again once they both have free time and they both know for sure something dangerous is down there.

Attempting To Leave The Thread

"I promise I'm real and not some creepy ghost." She said grinning at the thought. She had never really been the most comfortable around the castle ghosts anyways, just the way they floated through walls and stuff did not sit well with her. There was Nearly Headless Nick who could take his head off at will like it was complety normal, that was not something Elena liked having observed it various times herself, the thought made her grimace shaking the idea of ghosts out of her head. She had heard enough about them in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and she hoped that was the only place she would hear about them. "Sounds good, if you need help with that, don't hesistate." Elena said nodding at the book bag. Well, anything except Transfiguration, that was a class she avoided with a passion and for good reason.

As Adlai left, Elena looked around dissapointedly at the various parchments and book sprawled on the desk she had gotten in pursuit of their Chambers of Secrets adventure, sure, she hadn't found anything but the Gryffindor was happy she didn't need to anymore. Still, she was immensely curious about the Restricted Section and the thought kept dropping back into her head. "Cut it out, Elena, don't be dumb." She told herself firmly pushing back her chair and getting up. She didn't need to lose them any house points and earn the ire of her house-mates, Hogwarts was already full of interesting things that happened already, a arguement with housemates over house points was not a thing she fancied getting into as the girl made her way through the winding bookshelves and into the hallways beyond.
