Luck is with the Brave - was it? That didn't seem to be the case in this duel, which seemed to heavily favour the Loyal over the Brave thus far.

Again, all spells were cast successfully, some, such as @Zykeal Lane's, more than others, although @Ruka Burnett-Tân again managed to save his spell where others might have failed. But that was where the Lions' luck ended.

Both their spells were aimed at @Frost Cira, hoping to bestow a heavy cold upon the older Hufflepuff, but both of them missed. And while @Lea Hirsch's impressive aim failed this round, Frost's Wind Jinx conjured a mini-storm around Ruka, whipping around him and tearing at his clothes, which would keep the Gryffindor unbalanced for some time.

It seemed their spells weren't directed towards her this time. That was a nice change, although Lea wasn't entirely sure if that was preferred or not. On one hand, that meant less pain for the first year, but on the other, it made more sense to protect the older year- the one that actually knew spells and magic and-and whatever else a fourth year could know.

Frost hit this time- the two seemed to be switching off on who could actually hit their target. Which unfortunately meant that Lea was unable to hit with her Green Sparks. Perhaps that was for the best- he was probably sick of the spell already. With no necessary dodging for the time being, Lea would ponder for a moment, figuring out what seemed like a good next move.

With his eyes locked on Dealla maybe a little too long, Ruka once again struggled with the spell he was casting much more than necessary. His concentration was elsewhere when it shouldn't be, and he really needed to focus again.

At this point it almost seemed like luck that this spells were even successfully cast in the first place with how many distractions he was dealing with at the same time. The voice in his head did not do much to keep his head in the game either, so he wasn't even particularly surprised when he missed the ridiculously agile Hufflepuff. What did somewhat surprise him was the gust of wind blowing his way and making him stumble. Tearing at his clothes and hitting against his face, the mini tornado he seemed to get caught in for the time being was relentless, made him sputter a little helplessly. He almost had it in him to turn frustrated at how badly his first duel was really going for him, but the thrill of competition and facing an actual challenge kept him from succumbing to any kind of negativity.

Things were not over yet, his duelling partner was still in good shape, and all it really took was one good move to turn the whole thing around. Giving up was not an option, never had been for him, so despite the harsh winds surrounding him, Ruka lifted his wand once more and readied himself for the next round of spells.

A burst of 'ah!' came from the ginger girl. Honestly, at this point she was not even sure she would cast the spell correctly. It had been a bit of quick and creative thinking on her end, but it had worked! A mini tornado ripped at Ruka, a mini tornado she created.

Maybe Frost had been getting better. But the girl had known better to become overly confident. After her burst of surprised excitedness passed, Frost regained her composure and looked to Lea. Hopefully the younger Hufflepuff wasn't going to have to lose her first ever duel. Frosty once again got ready to cast.

He literally yawned, honestly, this was the most boring thing that he could have expected. Since when did a duel involve teams? Especially next to this Gryffindor who was constantly looking to the sides to the students watching and cheering on the teams. Constantly he got hit by spells and Zyk assumed that it was because of the lack of concentration. Zyk peeked over towards who his 'partner' continued to stare at and get distracted by and noticed a familiar face.

There was the girl who he had went to the ball with and his teammate he just realized was the annoying boy who had deemed it necessary to flirt with his date in front of him. It didn't make things better that Dealla was cheering on the other boy and from what he could notice was ignoring him. Hell, he thought they might have been friends at the very least, but, it seemed as if he was being treated as disregarded meat. A roll of those golden hues was made and he flicked his wand once more.

Suddenly, some movement came into this so far rather placid duel.

@Ruka Burnett-Tân, still off-balance from the wind that was gusting around him, suddenly found himself the target of not two, no, three spells! Due to what appeared to be some notion of misguided jealousy, @Zykeal Lane had decided to turn his wand onto his partner instead of the Hufflepuff Team this round. Luckily for Ruka, his fellow Gryffindor was apparently so caught up in emotion that the spell sputtered at the tip of his wand, but never actually went off.

The Hufflepuff Team had a lot more success to show for their efforts. Both @Frost Cira's Knockback Jinx and @Lea Hirsch's Dancing-Feet Spell were cast beautifully, and both made contact with their target, a gust of wind keeping Ruka from dodging the spells flying his way. After tumbling back a step, he would find his feet had decided to move in unfamiliar steps... or were they? Maybe paying homage to his new home and family, his feet were now performing a merry little Welsh Clogging sequence.

At least the poor, battered Gryffindor, targeted by enemies and allies alike, had something to show for this miserable round: His Curse of the Bogies managed to just hit Frost, who would immediately feel her sinuses fill with mucus. That was a terrible cold in the making.

As if being caught in a mini tornado wasn't already distracting enough, Ruka found himself the target of both Hufflepuffs this round. The gusts of wind were still ripping at his clothes, kept throwing him off balance, so he was prepared for a hit.

What he wasn't prepared for was the third wand pointed his way, the incantation spoken from his partner with full intent of hitting him. Fortunately, however, Zykeal's wand didn't seem to want to listen to him - Maybe there was a lack of concentration, or some reluctance about targeting his teammate, but there were only a few sparks to show that a spell should have been cast, then nothing but a bitter sense of betrayal.

As if looking for an explanation, his eyes searched the audience again, green orbs locking on Dealla for just a second, apologetically somehow. He didn't know what he had done to upset the girl's... friend? Boyfriend? but he certainly hadn't meant to!

There was no time to linger on the thought, however. The next spell came his way with an unexpected force, knocked him backwards with a loud groan while the wind continued to slap across his face and tug on every possible wrinkle of his clothes. He was starting to feel exhausted and quickly, eyelids growing heavy against the storm still raging around him.

<Why, what's the matter? What can I do to help?>

His brother's voice filtered into his brain almost like the connection was wonky, vaguely distorted in its concern. He would have probably done well not to focus on it at all, but at this point, exhausted from the knock back jinx, off balance from the wind jinx, Ruka didn't think there was much he could have done to avoid the other Hufflepuff girl's spell anyway.

The spell's effects were immediate; Despite how tired he was starting to feel, his feet started moving on their own accord, tipping and tapping backwards and forwards, to the side, then the other. It only served to heighten his exhaustion, otherwise he might have even taken some amusement from the situation.

Panting a bit, Ruka did his best to straighten up again, as best as he could while engaged in a dance. He could feel his body slowly but surely quitting on him, but if he was going to go out then he was going to do it with everything he had.

One more. After, against all odds, having managed to make his last spell land on its target, he was going to go for at least one more attack.

Just get yourself over here in time to get me to the Hospital Wing.

With that last thought in his brother's direction, Ruka lifted a shaky hand for at least one more attack.

As if she did not already feel sorry for the poor Gryffindor boy who had still been fighting with strong bursts of wind, Frost flung the knockback jinx at him. It didn't feel right, even though she knew that duels were not meant to be taken personally. What if Ruka did not feel that way? The girl made a mental note to visit him in the Hospital wing immediately after the duel with some form of apology. Most likely in the form of cookies. Perhaps that would make things okay.

She had been expecting some attacking spell from Lea, but there was a look of sheer surprise plastered onto her face as she realized she saw not one but two other spells aimed at Ruka. "What?" Lea couldn't have cast two spells, could she? The younger Hufflepuff indeed did not, the caster being Ruka's own younger teammate. Frost glanced to Lea in a 'did you see that?' kind of manner. Weren't they supposed to be working together? Although there were no rules against doing that.

Even with Ruka being cast at by all three other people and being ripped at by a mini-tornado Frost had previously cast, he still barely managed to hit Frost with a nasty cold. Ew. The girl could already feel her sinuses blocking. Holding back a sneeze, Frost got ready to go again.

The Wind Jinx was proving to be rather useful, noting how it helped slow down the gryffindor's movements enough to get another attack. When would Lea get to learn a spell like that? Right now she felt rather pathetic as she switched between the very few spells she knew.

The unexpected would come when one Gryffindor attacked another. Her head would tilt, a quizzical expression as the first year tried to decipher how that would've been useful. It had hardly seemed like a helpful spell, but Lea wouldn't really know. Brown eyes would catch the gaze of the upper year, realizing that she wasn't the only confused. That- Lea decided- would have to be figured out later... or never at all. Her hand lifted up once more, chestnut wand at the ready.

The spell fizzled, he shrugged, having not fully committed to the idea of what he had done regardless. Zyk was slightly impressed that Ruka managed to hit an actual spell though, that'd help, when it was going to come down to him against the two of the badgers that were still battling upon the opposite side. An annoyance of noise came from the crowd that had gathered and he shifted his gaze over towards the girl who was screaming at him, he just smirked, of course. Shifting his stance so that he faced toward the crowd, he stared down at Dealla as he raised his wand towards his opponents and cast his next spell. Those golden eyes locked down on the girl with whom he felt currently annoyed with.

"Can you please be quiet?" he asked non-chalantly.
