Magical Mystery Tour
It’s almost as if it were stolen straight from a child’s fairytale. It isn’t everyday one is told that some whimsical world of witches and wizards are, in fact, a reality. Charles was even more elated to hear that this fantastical world will now be part of his life, forever. He’s always been entertained by the ideas of magic and mythical creatures through means of media such as video games and movies, however it is the thrill of living the life itself that has taken him by surprise.
The Wolfssegner household has been in the dark about the boy’s magical potential. Reading the letter almost felt like a prank of some sort, if it wasn’t so elaborately delivered in both the letters formal writing and its means of... well, transportation. Reluctant to let him leave, though supportive of the boy’s future, they joined him and drove to London where laid King’s Cross Station. The “nine and three quarters” predicament didn’t take too long to solve, having gotten help from an amiable wizarding family that caught sight of their confusion while standing around the ninth and tenth platform for a while. It took a couple of goodbyes, some warm embraces, and a handful of tears before Charles was released into the crowd of children of all ages rushing into the train; every one of them were carrying luggage, trunks, and cages that bumped and bounded on each other as they all attempted to fit through the doors.
Charles was able to weasel through into one of the compartments where the window faced the departed’s family and friends, waving to what was the last few moments he would see of his father and sister before the train began to embark on its journey to Hogwarts. Lifting his belongings onto the space above the seats, he decided to take up his side of the compartment by laying down in his back, legs bent to fit his entire body comfortably before closing his eyes.
This is my first starter on this site! Sorry if it’s a little rugged, though I have roleplayed before I’ve never thoroughly done something in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! This is an open thread, feel free to join.

Magical Mystery Tour
Haylie stared out the window of the truck. She and her parents were driving to Kings Cross Station to send her to a school called Hogwarts. A few months ago, the family had never heard of the school, nonetheless, magic. It was a shock to everyone, but more so a shock to Haylie, because she was the one who possessed it.
The crimson truck came to a slow stop, parking in the parking lot in front of Kings Cross. The family of three exited the vehicle, and her father helped her get her trunk out from the bed of the truck.
They would walk inside, and the place was filled with people. Too many for her liking. Haylie's mother noticed this, and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly. The family looked around, trying to find the platform, but it was nowhere in sight. Haylie started to panic, thinking this entire thing was a set up, a joke.
The family must have looked lost, because an odd looking woman came up to them. "Are you looking for the platform?" She asked, a bright smile on her small face. Haylie nodded, feeling a bit of hope. "All you have to do is walk behind the barrier between nine and ten." She said. Haylie nodded, trusting her. 'If she's fibbing to me..' Haylie watched as the woman went through the barrier, completely disappearing. Haylie looked to her family, a sad, but happy smile on their faces. Haylie would give her parents a tight hug, before taking her trunk from her father, walking into the barrier.
There, the crimson train blessed her eyes. Tons of families were gathered in the area.
'crowded.' she thought. Haylie would watch what the other kids were doing, seeing where they put their luggage, then boarding the train.
Inside was a lot nicer than she expected. There were cabins after cabins, full of kids talking and laughing. All of these kids being able to find their friends made her feel like an outcast. She walked down the isle, making her way to what looked like an empty compartment. She would slide open the door, about to sit down when she noticed someone. "Oh, sorry. I'll leave."
Edit: It's totally fine! Your starter looks great! A lot better than mine, lol

Magical Mystery Tour
Just before the boy could drift away into his crawling slumber, the soft voice of a girl snapped him back into reality.
”Oh, sorry. I’ll leave.”
Lifting his head, he caught sight of the girl, resulting in him scrambling into a more presentable position, already becoming embarrassed by the fact that he betrayed his family’s gentlemanly discipline to get some selfish shut-eye. “’Course, I’m not the only one on this train... what was I thinking...?, the boy scolded himself, “Anybody could’ve waltzed in...”
Charles had to give himself a second to sit down and collect his thoughts before he began to speak.
”Oh no no no, ‘s alright.”, he said, wide-eyed and beet red, ”I... nobody else was sitting ‘ere so I just...” He paused for a moment, finding it futile to bring up an excuse. Rather, he continued, ”Sorry, you can come in.”
Standing up, the young boy dusted off his sweater frantically while attempting to “fix” his unruly brown hair. Inhaling sharply, he puffed his chest and extended his arm out to offer a hand shake. His gaze fixed upon the girl’s face and smiled.
“Name ‘s Charles. Charles Wolfssegner. Me pa calls me Charlie though... I’m okay with either.”

The girl let out an airy giggle, sitting in front of the male. "Nice to meet you, my name is Haylie Grey //Almost typed Black cuz that's my actual last name and jkr is RUDE about stealing my name grr
Her blue eyes wandered around the cabin, entranced by the reality that all of this was real, a smile on her tiny face. Her smile would fade after a moment, looking at the male. "You can still lay down if you wanted too. I wouldn't judge you..." She said quietly, almost like she was embarrassed to say it. Truth be told, she was flustering herself by actually talking to someone in general. "It's apparently a long train ride, so a nap wouldn't be a bad idea..." She chuckled lightly.
Usually, back at home she would stay in her small room, reading a book, or talking to her only friend; Her rat named Fudge. She had gotten him as a gift, and really only spoke to him. She hardly ever spoke to her parents, and when she did, it was rare. Her voice would always be a bit hoarse from not speaking much, but the hoarseness usually faded. She would bite her lip, feeling around the front of her yellow sweatshirt to find the tiny rat, eventually finding him, and giving him a carrot, something she hated, that her mom had packed for for a lunch.

The boy gulped as he grounded himself back into his seat, sheepishly slinking downwards and, perhaps, even pouting a little. ”Great... some bird ‘s gonna sit with me through the whole ride...” he thought, however tilting his head in indifference, “Well, they seem nice at least. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to talk to ‘er.” His eyes traced Haylie up and down, attempting to find some sort of clue as to what type of person she may be before speaking.
“Haylie Grey... that’s um. ‘s a nice name. I... I like yer hair.”
He made a motion with his fingers to emphasize his complement, holding his hands around his neck and shoulders to signify what he was talking about. The compliment was more of a stall, however, for it took him a while before he could coherently think of the question he’s been meaning to ask another student. This made him look like he had a small revelation, letting his eyes light up and his posture more straightened.
”So uh, ever been ‘ere before? I mean... Are ye...”
Charles fidgeted a little before leaning in, somewhat embarrassed about what he was about to ask his peer. His tone shifting a little, however still excited in spirit.
”Are ye like, some sort of witch? Can everyone on this train do magic?”
He spoke in a sort of tone that emitted disbelief. Even though he had the experience of his peculiar venture into platform “nine and three quarters”, as well as the magical incident that incited all of this, it was still something he couldn’t really wrap his head around.

Haylie smiled at the compliment, her cheeks flushing a light pink. It wasn't often she got a compliment, genuine or not. "I- Uh- T-Thank you.." She said, her thumbs franticly twirling in her lap, her dirty blonde hair falling into her face, covering those weird blue eyes she had.
"I think everyone here is able to do magic, that's what I was told, anyway.." her response sounded more like a question. "I myself have never done magic, until now I guess." she would lean her head back against the wall, looking at the ceiling. "I had no idea I was a witch until I got the Hogwarts letter.." She would say quietly. She noticed she was beginning to come out of her shell. She almost hated it? It had been such a long time since she actually spoke to someone, nonetheless willingly. She would never admit it to herself, not in this state, that she actually enjoyed it. Just a bit.

Charles’ eyes bugged out; though it was obvious that everyone on this train had such an ability, it still felt like a surprise to the young boy, finally being able to hear it from someone like him.
”Ah, me too! Didn’ know for sure ‘til the letter came for me too.”
He sat back to ponder on the magical “incident” he had before his mind began to rummage on all the possibilities. Of course, magic had its technicalities and limits, but to a young, muggle-raised boy, everything suddenly felt possible.
”Smokes, this ‘s so cool... isn’t it so cool? Do ye think we’ll learn spells and such? Oh, I’ve seen a coupla kids earlier with wands — do you think we’re gonna get our own wands too?”
The young boy was leaning forward, ecstatic on all the ideas that seemed to come just as quickly as they leave. There was just so much to think about, and he was willing to spill all of his excitement to the poor young girl in front of him.
”Honestly Haylie, I think yer really the type to be a witch a some sort, you get me? You seem really... ah, how do I put it.”
For once, Charles decided to hesitate before thinking, (not that it really did him any good if he were to say something a little kinder. He then proceeded to make more weird hand gestures, this time in a more formless and less explainable way in front of his face.
”Ah, weird! Weird ‘s what I meant. But everyone on this train seems a little weird too, ye get me?”
My man has no filter :,,)))

Haylie would be taken aback by his words, a small pout on her lips, but quickly changing into a smile, followed by a light hearted laugh. "I've been called worse, beild called 'weird' isn't new for me," She said, her blue eyes becoming warmer with every word. "After all, a girl whose only friends are a rat and plants? Most kids would think she's lost her mind." She said, a small chuckle coming from her, recalling her times on the muggle playgrounds, where she would usually be by herself.
Maybe her shell was actually opening, the wall she built over the years crashing down. Why only now? How? Was it this boy that made her feel comfortable? Because he was like her? She didn't have the slightest idea.

Having been leaning in while listening, he almost began to intrude Haylie’s personal space. Of course, this gave him a better view of her face whenever she’d shy away, but it definitely wasn’t gentlemanly on his part. He was able to catch just a glimpse of her pout, causing him to feel a little guilty about what he said. In attempt for redemption, he opened his mouth again,
“Well I mean... if everyone on this train ‘s weird, I guess that’d make me weird too, eh?”
When he said this, he seemed to search in the girl’s blue eyes for something. A small sign of forgiveness, perhaps? Or was it just such an odd color he had to look into it more? Nothing really prompted this — not that he knew of anyways — but he never seemed to get a good look at them until now.
“You have really blue eyes. Has anyone ever told you that?”
This time, his complement was more genuine, having meant what he said. It wouldn’t take long before his mind shifted onto another topic however, having the attention span of a goldfish, though the topic was still about the peculiar girl sitting in front of him. He really wanted to know more of his little cubby-mate.
”Yer friends are... rats and plants...?”, Charles replied, attempting to piece together what he could, given the sudden confession and, well, context of the situation. Misinterpreting the girl’s statement, he started to light up once more,”Oh! So you can talk to ‘em? Like uh, ‘nderstand what they’re sayin, eh? That sounds really cool! I’d give anything to know what me dog is sayin’.”
// Oh no, it’s alright don’t worry! I prefer you take your time rather than rushing. Don’t feel like you have to respond right away, I understand if you’re ever busy!
