Settling in...or not
She couldn't believe it! She had been sorted in Hufflepuff, this was amazing!! She felt like she was floating on clouds as she casually walked towards the Hufflepuff table and sat down at a spot all by herself, a sense of sadness suddenly overwhelming her, made worse by the sound of everyone laughing happily and chatting with each other. She had forgotten she didn't know anyone here, no matter how she acted, there was always this bubbling insecurity inside, sure she could make friends very fast, but she found it hard to approach people and she was in general a very awkward person when she didn't trust or know anyone. Somehow, having someone she knew close by gave her a lot of confidence. Just then her stomach rumbled, she was SO hungry, she shook the negative thoughts from her head and looked around, the Great Hall was magnificent and the ceiling was the most magnificent thing of all, with all the stars littering the surface and the constellations scattered all over the place, not to mention the shooting stars and a faraway galaxy visible here and there. She would have been content to stare at it for hours if she wanted to, but right now she was too hungry to think straight. Lucky for her, food appeared on the table at that took her breath away, she quickly started piling it on her plate, gaining weird looks from some people. She decided it was best to just act busy and wait for someone to approach her.
