A Birthday Well Celebrated PV complete

"I'm quite...glad that you like the gift," Arissa said, raising her brow at the display of affection on the gift. While it was her true feelings, she wished that she could have been spared from watching such a...touching scene. 'Like' might be an understatement, considering the fact that he eyed the sketchbook as if it was his soulmate.

Well, I should just pretend to not see anything. After all, he is the birthday boy.

Speaking of birthday boy...

"Happy Birthday by the way." When she heard the other girl called her as 'milady', Arissa let out a small chuckle. "I'm not quite sure whether I deserve to be called as such, however I can't say I dislike it." She have been called 'milady' before, but it was only among her families, and perhaps her house elf. A stranger saying that was a little amusing, but it didn't mean she didn't welcome it.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I do collect them during my shopping spree." She touched the white headband lightly. "I believe this one was a gift from Paris for my tenth birthday however. I'm quite glad you like it. " Barrettes, headbands, hairbands; she owned an entire collection of them in her home. She likes the other two more than wearing hairbands actually. The only time Arissa would style her hair to a ponytail was during potions, or any strenuous activity.

Arissa thanked the boy as he handed her her share of pies. She managed to swallow a few bites before turning to the boy. "This is quite new, I have to say, as I expected a cake. Did you request the school's house elf to make it?" The pie was quite...luscious. A bit better than what Arissa usually eat before entering Hogwarts. Pies were not the usual menu in her family, but the house elves did make pies on several occasions. And this pie was definitely good.

After wiping off her mouth gently with her napkin, Arissa turned to the other girl. "I believe I have yet to be introduced to this lovely lady of yours, Cade. Would you mind doing the honor?" She actually notice the implication in her words, but she can't stop herself from teasing the boy.

Honestly, it was very entertaining to do so.

Cade ate his pie slowly, savoring its flaky and fragrant delights. He finished chewing before explaining further to Arissa. "It's true I never explained to you my mother's profession. My mother owns a pie shop back home in Ottery St Mary. Peggy's Pies is a dainty little shop, most of her customers are muggles. I used to help her bring in supplies really early in the morning. As bakers, you must start before the sun is in the sky, people love to grab a bun on their way to work." Cade imagined fondly Peggy working some pastry dough while he played with the biscuit cutters. She used to yell at him for contaminating the merchandise with his dirty boy hands. Truly he only loved working with his mum because she would reward him with the remaining pastries that didn't sell that day. One of the best and worst things about running a bakery was that you had to keep stock of fresh items. It was frowned upon to sell food that was made the day before.

Cade looked between his two guests, he would have never imagined the two girls meeting each other. They made an odd pair, but Cade couldn't see anything bad about that. "Where have my manners gone?" He cracked a smile when Arissa suggested they be introduced.

"Arissa, may I introduce the lovely Rosie Willew. We met a few months before coming to Hogwarts, Lady Aithne and my mum organized a tea party for us to get to know each other before attending. You can say that she's my first friend at Hogwarts." He nodded happily with that introduction. He remembered the tea party as if it were yesterday. Despite how formal the gathering was they managed to become fast friends.

"And this, Rosie, is the marvelous Arissa Wright. Don't listen to her, she'll tell you she's far from marvelous but you know I am a great judge of character." It was true, Arissa was always very humble when it came to taking compliments. "We met through the Quill Pal system here at school. It was only a few weeks ago that we finally met in person. Arissa writes beautifully crafted letters. I am very glad to have been partnered with her."

Cade returned to eating his pie after that long-winded introduction. Feeling a little parched he pulled out a large canteen of water. This water was special for it had a small amount of giggle water inside. Not enough to be considered alcoholic but just enough to get the drinker laughing uncontrollably. Being mischievous, he decided to pretend it was regular gilly water and poured drinks for the three of them. He waited to see which one of the girls would take a drink first. Or perhaps they would propose a toast?

"Thank you for such an...astounding presentation, Cade." Arissa remarked wryly, as she placed her plate back to the ground. Her eyes glanced at the girl who seemed to have the same interests as her, in term of accessories that is. She shot the girl a gracious smile, as she replied, "I love those as well, as it was very pretty to look at. I'm not quite sure about tiara, however. I did get some funny glance from someone for wearing that on my shopping spree."

That someone who would laughed at her would be Adrian, of course. He did make such an amusing spectacle when he escorted her like what a knight would do for a princess during one of her shopping spree. The only downside was the fact that he was too engrossed in his act, that even she felt embarrassed. His 'Oh no milady, it's too dirty for you to touch' and his 'Make way for the princess' was the worst. His marvelous joke of 'Let this humble servant do it for you' actually make her house elf, Moopy cry as he was the heir of Rothchester family, far from being a servant. Luckily they managed to stop Moopy from banging his head on the wall as a punishment for being a useless elf. Speaking of Adrian...

Something told Arissa that the glint Cade has in his eyes was not to be trusted as he poured the water into the glasses. It was akin to Adrian's expression when he was on his mood. She glanced warily at the boy, before the other girl proposed a game.

"Medusa? I can't seem to recall hearing that," she murmured. It didn't take long for her to understand the rules however, as it was very simple. Well, at least it makes this party more fun. So she agreed. "I do not mind. Just as long as you did not put any poison in this, Cade." She makes her point when she shot the birthday boy a smile, that promised a lot of dangers if that happened. Her time in Slytherin have given her a lot of skills, and this smile was one of them.

Dare, huh. She can't exactly say she have any experience in those sort of things, but she was not going to back out. After all, youth is all about collecting experience, as her father says. "I'm in," she said in a more firm tone compared to the last one.

Cade was loving how the party was turning out sure, it had started with a little drama and only two of his guests had stayed, but he was having more fun than he initially expected. To be fair, Cade didn't really have a lot of close friends at Hogwarts, the school was so big it was hard to keep track of who you met. When writing up the invitations he did include that it was an optional event. And he only sent the owl off to a few people. He was happy though that things were going well, if there had been too many people the introductions could have been a lot to handle.

So they have chosen a game to accompany their drinks. This decision was proving to be a fun one. Cade had heard of a game like Medusa but they had called it something else back home. He grinned warming up to the addition of having the loser carry out a dare. Cade knew he couldn't lose.

"I'm in too." He added after Arissa agreed. Cade took a moment to imagine what errand he would send the loser on. Perhaps swimming in the lake? No, it was much too cold now. What about standing on one foot for the entire day? Cade wished he knew the leg-locker curse. Whatever it was he'd decided it would be a memory he'd never forget.

"Right. Everyone close your eyes! Ready? 3...2...1!"

That was close XD almost clicked on it. How many sips/rounds should we do?

At the mention of poison Rosie gasped, clutching her imaginary jewels. _Oh now,
Is chivalry really dead? Gentleman Cade would be that bold?_ Of course, she was only mocking him, he was best fit as a carefree boy, but every now and then it was possible to catch a glimpse of his eyes almost revising something inside, it seemed that way. The shadow of a perfomatic, compiled good son of the Darkbounds showed in his mannerisms. How bold of him to try any tricks, also why didn't she see it coming? Very well, this group was the perfect competitive dynamic. Rosie was glad both of them agreed. And that they seemed to be having fun, she hoped to make Arissa her new friend, fantasizing already about them trading accessories and going shopping. The pie was casted aside after she took one more little bite. _You two dared to challenge Willew power. I have great intuition, from the STARS that is._And she raised her arms on top of her head to unite her hand palms as she made a sound. _May the lights not trip on me, leeries of the sky, for the night will be great and the promise can be bright._And she in operandus mode looked fiercely at both of them, one at a time, with sharp moves on her brows to move up and down twice. Maybe if she slightly intimidated them, they would predict she would look at them, therefore, looking at each other. _Ok, go._

"Right. Everyone close your eyes! Ready? 3...2...1!"

Rosie opened her eyes to face Arissa.

Both of the Ravenclaws seemed to be in high spirits. It truly make the lone Slytherin a bit alarmed. Only a bit. Seriously, she definitely did not want to lose this game. Whatever the dare is, nothing seemed safe enough. In fact, a safe dare seemed very unlikely. The worst would probably caused a few episodes of embarrassment though, that Arissa wanted to avoid. It was then that Arissa realized how ignorant she was. Inwardly, she hope that none of this reached the ears of anyone she knew in her house. Biting her lips, Arissa took a deep breath.

This is about luck. Of course. I'm quite lucky, aren't I?

Right now, Arissa couldn't be sure. Simply depending on miracle was little bit careless of her. By now, the gears of her brain started to move. Studying and considering what would be the best choice for her. What she hoped to be the correct choice.

She was, first and foremost, a member of Rothchester family. She did not exactly have a specific chant, such as the Ravenclaw girl. She just knew that she needed to be refined, she have to be refined. That means she can't lose. Whose word was it that 'Youth is about experience' again? Oh, yes. Her father's. A part of her decided to send her father an owl, with a long list of such as robes, dresses, shoes, headband, bracelets, earrings and necklaces for her father to but if she lose. But if she won, well, she'll think about it later.

As soon as Cade finished counting, Arissa closed her eyes.

Cade opened his eyes on three. Cade was looking at Rosie and Rosie had her eyes on Arissa. He turned his head to see Arissa was looking at him. It was a dud! Cade let out a hearty laugh.

"That wasn't according to plan. Shall we do a few more rounds? I really want to see one of you lose." Cade felt his lips curl into a smile. He already pulled one trick from his sleeve with the giggle infused gilly water. So even if Cade did lose, he would actually have the last laugh. He wondered what the girls were thinking if they got to choose the dare. What would they have him do?

He eyed Arissa. She was the type to plan nefarious deeds. But she was also probably worried about her own skin and strategizing instead of her safety. Rosie on the other hand seemed to be going at it for fun not really worried about the steaks involved. Cade would keep an eye on them both. This game was a lot like the muggle chance game of rock paper scissors. In that, the players could either play randomly or pay attention to the other's turns and map their way around.

"Eyes closed? Ready! 3...2...1!"

The first one was a dud. None of them were looking at each other, though Arissa knew that the second round wouldn't be such a miracle.

Highly unlikely in fact.

A part of her wonders what was it that both the Ravenclaws have in mind for their dares. And whether or not the dare would be amongst the three or it involved other people was the ultimate question .Arissa would surely refuse if it involved quite a huge number of people though. As Cade very well know, she has a reputation to uphold. She would even accept it if they dare her to confess her love towards the Great Squid or something rather than making herself answering the questioning glances of her fellow Slytherins.

As for hers, she actually thought of taking their money for her shopping, though it seemed a little... unethical for her to do that. They were still children after all. She guessed it depended on the outcome of this match. However, as a Slytherin, she knew that hers would at least... befitting her reputation as a girl from House of Snakes.

This time however, she actually didn't think of anything. No plan, no calculation, nothing. The thought of reourcussion filled her very mind, and at the same time, obscured her view of her plan.
