It had taken Ruka much longer than strictly appropriate to decide whether he really wanted to go through with meeting Professor Jensen at the date, time and location she had given him in her response to his letter. Considering the fact that he had been the one to reach out and ask her to meet him, there really shouldn't have been any hesitation in his agreement, but there was something that had made the ultimate decision more challenging than it was supposed to be.

He thought to realise the issue, thought he was aware of what made him so nervous about the encounter with the Slytherin Head of House. Aside from the fact that he had no real plan for what exactly he wanted to talk to her about - all he had known when he had written the letter was that he wanted someone to talk to who wasn't really involved in his life and seemed trustworthy enough for him to feel comfortable around - he was also acutely aware that the last adult he had ever confided his thoughts and problems in was his dad. Almost a whole year ago.

While Ruka had always known that he had no real connection to children his age because he had never really had any experience with them, he had almost forgotten that he knew how to talk to adults just as little. His dad had been the only person he had really ever talked to growing up, and there was certainly a difference between how someone talked to their dad and how they were supposed to talk to a Professor.

Surely, the last time Ruka had seen Professor Jensen he must have made a dreadfully rude impression. Not that the Slytherin Head of House had seemed to mind particularly much but the situation had been vastly different. A set up encounter in which Ruka was hoping to get some help with sorting out the inner workings of his mind seemed to warrant much better manners somehow.

Still, despite his concerns, Ruka had finished dinner a little earlier than most of his peers that night, just so he could make sure he was going to get to the North Tower in time. Dressed in simple blue jeans and a white T-Shirt, Ruka had thought it to be a good idea to cloak himself in Jack's Slytherin robes, which he had still not returned after having gotten them in April. Aside from the fact that wearing those particular robes seemed like a funny get-up for meeting the Slytherin Head of House, he was also aware of the fact that he and Jack looked alike enough that maybe, even if just for a second, he would be able to trick the Professor into thinking he wasn't who she was expecting.

Just for extra measure he had even gone to the lengths of using the hair colour changing spell on himself, muttering a Crinus Muto to his trusty wand to turn his copper hair a few shades darker and accentuated with some blond and brown highlights.

It wouldn't have been the first time he had been mistaken for his future brother, and the previous time he hadn't even tried.

Immature deception seemed like a good ice breaker to him.

As he reached the right location, Ruka stopped in front of the door, unsure of whether he was supposed to enter or simply wait outside. After all, he was still a little early and he didn't know if Professor Jensen was already inside the office or maybe only just on her way herself.

Waiting for a little moment, Ruka decided that it wouldn't hurt to at least check, so he moved towards the door and gave it three loud knocks before stepping back again in expectation of someone opening it.

Now all there was left to do was wait.

Hjørdis quirked an eyebrow as she looked over the office. She had written to Marcus, asking if she could borrow his office for a meeting. It was notably cleaner than when she had last visited it, which was pleasant to see. Today's meeting was... rather odd. It was not really a formal one by any means. But rather, one of the other students that she had met over the months. He reached out to her.

She tapped the teapot, making sure there was enough water in it and it was boiling. Then she checked that there were enough teacups, just in case the young Ruka opted for tea too. Their last meeting was rather brief, in all honesty. However, there were a few moments that stood out to her. The boy, at first impression, was rather curt. He isolated himself, from what she could see, pushing people away. Of course, her judgements were harsh and based entirely on a very brief meeting - about pranks and flowers. However, she had to wonder if he had any friends or if he pushed everyone away in an attempt to protect himself. Ruka mentioned his father passing. These things could have been associated with that. In a way... Hjørdis could not help but see a bit of herself in him.

He was not allowed to become her.

Of course, she was confident enough to think she was amazing. But she had certain flaws or regrets. If it could be avoided, she would have preferred for him not to become like her.

"Come in-" She called out as she heard the knocks against the door. She went to open it anyway but he already had beaten her to the punch. Her eyebrow raised as her eyes fell on a boy with slightly darker hair than she had expected. She did not look too closely at the robes - mostly because they were just black and she had no intention of staring at the house crest - so did not notice anything odd about them.

The boy looked remarkably like one of her own students - a Jack Burnett. But that made no sense. The time was right, it was Ruka. Right? She observed his face for a moment, noticing how oddly similar their features were. It dawned on her now how their hair shade was somewhat different but that was about it [Awareness Check: 36]. Almost as though they were related. "Tea?" She offered as she gestured to the chairs, offering whoever it was one.

Regardless of the boy's response, she started to prepare the tea. At the very least, she would pour herself a cup. If he wanted one, she would pour him one too before bringing it over to him. Leaving milk and sugar there too, she would seat herself down opposite him, "So... how can I help you?" She asked, holding her own cup of tea.
OOC: Sorry for the delay and bad quality of this, I just don't want you to wait longer so throwing something up. x_x
