The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
Thank goodness @Dan Palmer had scooped up his Batman mask on the way out of the Rehearsal room. Fortunately Reparo did the job in mending the broken string and few cracks in the mask, so Andrew could put it on to hide his shame and identity.
"Manegro Potion," he'd briefly say to anyone that stared or asked out of curiosity.
Okay, so maybe "shame" was a strong word for it. Nevertheless, it was slightly embarrassing. Walking around with a waist-length ponytail clipped with a silver barrette, possibly being mistaken for a girl; not to mention uncomfortable, with an extra pound of silky brown tresses weighing his head down and flicking loose strands out of his face. As soon as this little "investigation" was over, Andrew was going to chop it all off in the bathroom. No way was he going to bed with this mane!
If not for Dan dragging him by the wrist, Andrew would have never followed the group on a wild cat chase. But… Okay, he couldn't let his best friend go alone. Whatever happened, they were in this together.
At least Penelope and Loki were safe and sound. Andrew wouldn't have risked his pet's life on an uncertain mission such as this. He hoped to get it over with as soon as possible, so he could go back to his dorm for a haircut.

Jayden Holt returns to the Ballroom. Swapping out iNPC for PC, Andrew Vance.
Andrew is experiencing the effect of Manegro Potion (from the Costume Party). He currently has a waist length ponytail, clipped with a shiny silver barrette.

Being at the back of the congregation was infuriating. There was a reason for Calanthe’s love of tank classes. Up close and personal with the action is the best spot, obviously. Unfortunately, the lion cub was far from a lioness and she knew that her recently-subsided anxiety would peak to alarming levels if she were to set foot anywhere closer to the group. Unwilling to let her heartbeat distract her from the mystery at hand, Calanthe maintained a safe distance away from the others, while still stewing at her inability to be up front. The rest of the kids prattled on, their words bouncing off the corridor walls. Calanthe was unsure of where they were headed, but she assumed those at the front of the group would be able to see the spectre, or the odd cat that slinked out of the room behind him.
Amidst talk of The Headless Hunt and candy, she was led into the Rehearsal Room. It was not a place the witch visited frequently, but the aura was calming, almost making her regret not picking the room as her hideaway of choice. But it was visited by too many students for the girl to be at peace. As the group settled in the room, not many things of substance were done. It seemed like most of the crowd were content with observing the surroundings. Calanthe could not blame them - there was not much to go on. No mounted obelisks or glowing runes graced the group with their presence. The room was entirely boring. A couple minds were at work. One girl called out an introspective Revelio. At what? Calanthe could not see.
Mosquito was here too, chatting with the paintings. Smart… or whatever. Though, the girl was not sure how open the paintings would be to conversation this far outside school hours. “Lay it on thicker, why don’t you?” she called out to him. Yet, she could not tell what the best course of action would be. Revelio was her first instinct, but there was nothing she could cast it on. Maybe I can get my hands on some of those candies that they’re all excited about... But then I’d have to talk to them. Blegh. Her next idea was terribly mundane, but Calanthe, practically a muggle for most of her life, was comfortable with that.
Action: Looking out for anything out of place.

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
Satisfied that she had her posse now, her team, she took Alexa's hand with one hand and grabbed Logan's with the other. "Let's go, let's go, let's go!" She was no longer worried about fancy dances or carving pumpkins. Instead, she was filled half with the adrenaline rush of a possible adventure and the other half of her flight or fight response kicking in just in case there really was doom or tragedy ahead. She wasn't the flight sort of girl. No, if she or her friends were in danger she was going to do her part in trying to help fix things. It's what Hufflepuffs did and she was a true and true Hufflepuff.
Right now, she didn't have any idea on what that could be. She just had Logan with her and Alexa and the three made their exit from the Rehearsal Room of the Costume Party and took to the corridors of all the students that were following the ghost cat. "I hope you two brought your wands," she said to them. A good witch or wizard nearly always carried theirs. She learned that over the Summer when she was visiting Clifton in Rye and they came across some unsavory characters trying to harm him.
Action: Joining the hunt, following the group, following the cat with @Alexa Mackenzie and @Aemadall Zarcovich

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
Kara watched as the group dispersed, and she turned back to some of the suits of armor herself. The candy, the ghost, the cat, the riddle, all of those thoughts were racing through her mind. Like, what was the danger, who is the ghost and what's so important about his name.
All of those thoughts mentioned were only a few out of the maybe millions. Her eyes batted around, looking for anything else, but then again, everyone so far had found the same pieces of candy, so it seemed unlikely for any other things to pop up. She scratched her head in frustration, but as she turned around her saw someone running at her.
The girl, whom she knew as Scarlett now, thrusted her hand to her face, to which Kara flinched a little, but she then noticed what was in her hands. More candy.
"Kara, Kara look!" She started off.
"Woah Woah, calm down. No need to try and punch me in the face, now, explain what you need."
"I found an acid pop, a sherbet lemon and a Toothflossing Stringmint. What about you? Do you think it means something? Well, sweets can't mean something, but....I, er -"
Kara looked at the candy in Scarlett's hands. She was right, once again the exact same.
"I got the exact same type of candy, and I agree with you that they mean something, but I don't know the spell Revelio, which I had suggested before." She sighed in disappointment of her ignorance towards the Revealing charm.
As she was about to send Scarlett to try and find anything else, she heard someone pipe up.
"Hey, Lettuce," A girl with brown wavy hair in a blue and white lace dress had cheerfully said to Scarlett, but Scarlett didn't seem to enthusiastic about the nickname "And random stranger,"
"The name's Kara, not 'random stranger.'" She added in briskly before the girl continued.
"I heard the words danger and tragedy, so here I am!" She struck a pose, to which the short haired girl let out a "Hmph" of laughter.
"It's confusing how the words danger and tragedy amuse you, but whatever floats your boat I guess..." Kara said giving the girl a sly look until returning to her normal, neutral face.
"Okay, seriously though, what's going on?" The girl paused, then looked at the sweets in Scarlett's hand "And why're you holding sweets?"
"Well, it's a long story..." Kara said, trailing off crossing her arms, listening as Scarlett explained.
The girl then pulled out her wand.
"Lemme try something. Revelio." It's like the brunette had read her mind.
"Smart idea to cast revelio, it is a halloween party and what better then to disguise the clues as a piece of candy," Henry had suddenly appeared, but Kara agreed with the boy.
"He's right. I had suggested casting Revelio from the start. Let's just hope it actually reveals something." She said, looking at Henry, then back down at the candy with a hopeful look.

Mentioning: @Marshal Mozor
Action: Searching for clues and talking to the ghostMelissa followed the cat along with a few other students from the ball. She was glad that she didn't decide to wear heels and wore her chucks instead because there was quite a lot of walking around happening. As she followed the cat with the others, she kept on glancing around, looking for any signs of danger or something. Even though her head was mostly filled with thoughts about this "hunt", she also thought of Marshal quite a bit. She felt bad for leaving him behind but he was probably going with his friend... Shaking away her thoughts, the ginger focused back on where they were going and her surroundings. She wasn't going to let her guard down, especially on that night. She knew that all the past balls have been chaotic so why should this one be any different?
When they finally stopped, they were in a corridor. What's so special about this corridor? It's just like every other corridor... she thought. Wait...there has to be something special about this corridor though or else we wouldn't have ended up here- As a train of thoughts rushed into Melissa's head, she looked around, hoping to find a clue of some sort. After looking for a while she gave up and thought about what the ghost had said when he crashed into the ballroom. Maybe there was a secret that she had missed while listening. Hmmm, what could possibly be hiding in his words... What did he say again? Something about darkness creeping up on the castle and us being in danger, then something abo- Wait! He said that if we needed help, then we can call for his name. What is his name though? Mel quickly made her way to where the ghost was and asked, "Excuse me, what is your name sir?"Stats: Stamina: 5 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 6 | Wisdom: 6 | Arcane Power: 5 | Accuracy: 7

Interaction(s): Gregorí Erkens (@Ginevra Tsuchiya)
Interaction status: open (owl me first would be better, but it's fine otherwise)
Action(s): entering with Gregorí
Other mention(s): -
There were too many students and everything was a chaos. Some students were doing one thing, others another thing - but what the things they were actually doing, Elisabeth Erner had no idea at all. With that enormous number of people, she could barely see anything else except their heads and hear anything but their overlapping voices, let alone grasp an idea what actually was going on in the corridors.
The Hufflepuff could no longer spot a ghost, whether it was the ghost of el gato*) or the dramatic horse rider. In fact, she really had no idea what to do but wait. Perhaps something more definite, something clearer, would happen soon... well, hopefully.
The Asian-Hispanic girl did not enjoy the current situation at all. Not only that she found everything confusing, Elisabeth also started to feel terribly uncomfortable being physically surrounded by this sea of humans. She was not claustrophobic as most would surely and easily mistake her as one - at least, not that she was aware of. But she did understand herself as an introvert.
She turned to face Gregorí Erkens, the Mexican boy from Ilvermony who had been very kind to her the whole evening (and whose surname interestingly sounds very similar to her). The eleven-year-old was actually kind of glad they arrived rather late at the corridors; otherwise, they would really be in the middle of these people instead of the back, and would not be able to physically withdraw themselves further from the other students. She said nothing to him, but her eyes showed she was thankful that he was there with her.

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)
As Lindsey Springhall | timidly open to interactions
Interacting with @Wyatt Starkey @Scarlett Aden @Lucia Fox @Lily Cawthi“Thanks.” she took a good look at Scarlett’s red dress. “You look great as well! Matches your house color.” really, not only did the dress matched the Gryffindor’s theme color, it suited Scarlett’s hair as well — and, yes, her name!
She listened quietly when the red head regarded the ghost as an ally. Right direction…maybe yes. But what if they were actually wrong? Ghost and human. Nice match. Why did everyone regarded the ghost as a friend? First Wyatt, and now Scarlett — why, why couldn’t them be perceived by him?
Lindsey felt a bit amazed when Lucia almost said nothing. Was she busy thinking about things happening that she couldn’t give away any attentions for their conversation? Or maybe, she’s not that interested? Lindsey didn’t know, though she gave a sympathetic smile to Lucia — we’d be okay. She mouthed.
It was to her delight that Wyatt had joined them. Apparently he wasn’t acquainted with Scarlett or Lucia. The lion greeted her friend —
“Are you and Lindsey by any chance dating?”
Oh dear. She really shouldn’t have come to Scarlett. What a typical Gryffindor impetuous question.
She was nearly chocked. “Um,” a nervous look to Wyatt. “No…not rea…um…” another nervous peek, as if to see his interaction. “I don’t th-” this was the last attempt, and she failed. Were they dating? No. Though she indeed liked him, and they were dates tonight — ball dates, of course. She didn’t come to an agreement with him that they came as friends, so…she did not know. Would she eventually date with him? Maybe. Maybe one day, when she’s old enough for such things. She feared to say that they were dating, cause they were not, and it was just a beautiful imagination. Though she still feared more to say no. She still had a chance in that.
She felt relieved when someone broke in. It was a girl, whom seemed like a first year. Apparently she was acquainted with Scarlett — and she learnt the new girl’s name. Scarlett introduced her to them, when Lindsey gave a friendly smile. “It’s nice to meet you, Lily.”
Scarlett seemed had found something on the ground. What… what is it? She looked curiously towards her, though she couldn’t see the small item clearly. Eyes fell on Wyatt again. It was inquiring this time, probably asking what’s the thing.
And the Scarlett left. Lucia left. “See you!” she called behind them, both with a wave.
Herself and Wyatt were left together again.
Lindsey knelt down. She wished to find something on the floor as well, just like Scarlett. It was to her surprise that some sweets were in the ground. A…a sherbet lemon? And an acid pop? Wh were they here?
She stood up. “Sweets.” she announced to Wyatt. “Looks like the cat had dropped them. But how? I mean, it’s…it’s like a patronus or things like that…how could it carry things?” the question sounded dumb, though she didn’t really get the answer. Wyatt would get it, and she was quite sure of that.
She didn’t dare to touch the candies like what Scarlett had done. What if they exploded? Or had some chemical effects? No — they couldn’t just be normal candies.
“I do think they are not normal sweets.” she whispered. “Don’t touch them — they may harm you.” She looked at the boy confidently. “These candies are suspicious — a present from the unknown enemies, maybe.”
She had to figure something out. These sweets seemed a good start.
Decidedly she drew out her wand. “Revelio.” She pointed at a sherbet lemon. “This should help.” quickly, she looked up to Wyatt. “Let’s see.”Action: Casting Revelio at a sherbet lemon

The Fall Ball (The Hunt)

@Elisabeth Erner
Open for further interactions (preferably send me owl beforehand)
It was pure chaos at the corridors of Hogwarts. Gregorí really had no idea what on earth was happening. It was true that he and Elisabeth had arrived there quite late, but still, he did not expect things to be like this. When he was still at the masquerade and also when he was walking here, the Ilvermony student had actually imagined that the ghost (or ghosts) would wait for everything to arrive, tell them to be quiet because they were going to speak, and say something like, "You have arrived at the first checkpoint. Now you have fifteen minutes to solve this next clue..." After that, the kids would be given a piece of paper containing a logic puzzle or the ghost would orally deliver it to them.
Bu-u-ut... no.
The students were busy running here and there, shouting at each other, claiming that they had just found something, and trying to cast spells on objects. Gregorí had no idea whether it was wise or if they had better kept quiet and strategize, but he himself would certainly pick the latter. Why no one here decided to organize the kids into groups, each with a certain task, was beyond his logic. (Although, if somebody shot the question back at him, his answer would be, "Because I won't make a good leader, that's why.")
There were two things on his mind currently.
First, Drew. How would that closest friend of his would react when he found out Gregorí was not at the masquerade? When Elisabeth and he left Drew, Jess, and Akari at the costume party, they had actually planned to meet again in the ballroom. If only they could use mobile phones here...
Second on his mind, Elisabeth. Was she comfortable, especially with all the chaos that was taking place? He looked at her and found that she was looking back at him. She had also taken off her masquerade mask, and he decided to do the same. (That's better. I can see clearly now without any mask.) No, the Mexican decided, she doesn't look very comfortable. It was a saving grace the two was at the back of the crowd, so they were not truly squeezed in the middle of the human sea. "May I?" Gregorí asked Elisabeth in Spanish and gestured a hug. He hoped that it could make her feel better, at least a little bit.

At some point, Opeila had lost Percival. A whole group of students had pushed outside the ballroom, ripping his hand out of hers. Opeila would end up in the corridors with a group of other students. Some faces were familiar, some she couldn't quite tell with the masks covering them and some Opeila couldn't remember at all. Made sense considering that there were other schools attending this event. The Slytherin searched the corridor for the clowing cat. Hadn't it just entered before them?Mentioning @Percival Rainwood, @Dmitri Jones
Opeila stood on the tips of her toes, trying to look over the other students' heads. Wait- Was that... A flash of light blond hair. She waited until she could see the parts of his face that were not by a mask. It seemed her duelling captain chose to join the hunt as well.
The Slytherin looked at the entrance of the ballroom again, hoping Percival would come through.
She really hoped this was some scavenger hunt, planned by the organizers and not some actual evil coming for them to kill them all. Well, for now she would watch what happened and follow the cat. If they found the first riddle, maybe that would give them some answers.
Opeila stepped away from the entrance a little to give more space to the students leaving the ballroom.

Mentioning: @Rafael D'Spacito as Hanzo & @Piérre MarchonnéThe Ghost had said to follow, in order to preserve the school and prevent it from falling into chaos. Well, who am I to deny a blatant and excellent challenge? I'm going to make sure that my services are offered as they are needed, and I will hold nothing back if things come to fisticuffs.
There seemed to be many individuals around me, people to take blows and back me up... I shall just have to make sure that I do not become an enemy to any of them. I need as many allies as I can gain for myself. One of the students @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood looks almost as a ghost herself, giving me flashbacks to a simpler time, a time when I was the captain of the Durmstrang Quidditch team and the Niffler was the star Seeker of our team. A game that was well matched, even if the results were not as they should have been.
With me is Hanzo, fellow and friend, my comrade through all the times, a fellow captain and now a duelist whereas I was destined for the position of the broom racer. I know that he and I will be at each others' sides until the very end. I would rather fall and let him live before he does. Complain all he likes, that is the way of the world. Once my ally, always my ally, and I go to any means to ensure that that alliance lasts for good.
But I must keep an eye on the ghost, the spirit which guides our party. As we go, I watch the walls and the individuals, noting those with different strengths and those who can prove valuable in this endeavor. "C'mon Hanzo. Let's hunt us a being who thinks that they can end the world before we can!" A joke perhaps... but dear God, the violence of adolescents when corners or placed in an enclosed room together.
Let's just hope that we can achieve this mission before we collapse upon each other in an irrevocable civil war...
