Lamik had almost given up by that point. He hadn't given up yet, but he almost had. It was all too much- the embarrassment of not having won yet, the frustration of continuously missing, and of course the terrible, terrible, cold. Even if by some miracle he didn't faint in the following minutes, the boy was sure that at any moment he would just decide to walk away. Not yet though. Not yet.

Damion had yet survived another round. if his count was right, he had only a few more rounds to survive before his opponents would faint because of the spell that was cast on them. He was happy that he was able to dodge away his opponents spell. He just hoped to Merlin that he would survive the rounds that were left.

She was irritated. She was so irritated that she didn't even bother to wave her imaginary banner for house pride. She was so irritated that she wanted to scream quite loudly in frustration. But she knew doing that would only irritate her already sore throat and vocal chords, so she refrained. Plus, she was much too old to be throwing a tantrum like some three-year-old who didn't get their way. Both she and Lamik were struggling, and the wimp in front of them was only dodging like a coward instead of casting spells himself. If she could speak better, she would say something else, but it was taking more energy from her to cast a spell and breathe properly and she rather just save her energy on casting spells.

Dmitri, eyes almost falling shut as he watched the progress of the duel, suddenly bolted upright from where he stood when one of the Gryffindors finally landed a hit—a first in how many rounds. @Lamik Fillestar, in his quite pathetic state just managed to hit @Damion White in the side, even as the Ravenclaw boy continued to dodge. It's like fate was reminding the players that things aren't over yet.
@Raine Sage, like most of her previous rounds' performance, still missed her target, but as it stands, the duel seems to be starting to resolve itself in these last few rounds.
Will luck finally look up for the Gryffindors, or was that stray Flipendo just a freak occurrence? Dmitri thinks they might find out soon enough.

A small cheer ran through Raine's head as her partner's spell connected with the fast moving target. White was fast, but not fast enough it seemed and Raine was all the more happy to see him stumble after being hit. Looking over at her partner, she faltered as she saw he wasn't doing so well. Hell, she wasn't doing so well, but she was fairing a bit better than he was. If only she knew the blasted healing spell to help him. It would be on her to-do list to study hard for Professor Lian's class to learn that spell.

Damion was hit by a charm. His attempts to dodge had not succeeded in the last round. Damn it. He thought. he needed to stay in the duel. If he wanted to win this, he had to survive a few more rounds and then he'd be good to go. He was hoping and praying to Merlin that he would survive the rounds yet to come and be a winner of this duel. He wanted to do it for his house, for himself and well for his partner. He wasn't going to let her down, hopefully. He wanted to make his friend back at home also proud of him.

And he hit! It was a miracle! A single well placed Flipendo, and Damion didn't appear to be in such a good condition himself. Though Lamiks body constantly dragged him down, harder and harder, his strength sapping away by the second, his spirits had been lifted. The boy had to try to win.

For so long, Dmitri wanted the duel to end. The rounds blurred together, every single one identical to the other.
But this one wasn't.
Because it seems misfortune still has one last hurrah, and it was this misfortune that one team could finally be declared the victor. For in this round, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.
The worst that could happen, happened: @Raine Sage tried to cast another Flipendo, but it hit her right in her own face instead. @Damion White, in his long-term bid at desperately trying to dodge all incoming attacks, suffered one final impaired Knockback Jinx from @Lamik Fillestar, the only good thing to come out of the round. Considering Lamik fell to the floor not a few seconds later.
Dmitri clapped in glee before entering the arena once more. This was the best moment out of the whole duel by far. And no less because three kids are down and one was trying—and failing—to stay awake. "I would call for a stop to the duel," he would start as he glances at Raine's disheveled appearance, "but it seems to me like it already has." With a smirk, he would slice his hand downward through the air and enunciate for the whole arena to hear. "The battle has ended. Gryffindor wins!"
With one last satisfied glance at the mess around him, Dmitri Jones would exit the duelling club proper.
