"Hahaha...thank you," Kit told Jay, rubbing the back of his neck in what seemed to be embarrassment at her compliments. "I enjoy being a big brother. Even if my real sibling isn't so eager to be associated with me, perhaps I can still be something of a brother to all the students here, at least. Particularly Ilvermorny Wampus students," he added teasingly.
The mention of Jay's five-year-old brother, Forrest, caused his brows to shoot up in surprise as he listened. Nodding solemnly, he seemed to sympathize with her mentioned sorrow, but began to smirk again when she mentioned her hope he would be a Wampus as well.
"Lab rats indeed..." he muttered quietly in amusement. "It sounds like you're pretty far in age from your brother but you still care about him very much. That's sweet. I don't know too many siblings who find much reason to be close in any other aspect if they aren't in age."
The question regarding rules and hags caused him to run a hand through his hair as they walked. "Oh, you know; the usual sort of rules. Curfew, forbidden places, staying with others so you aren't out alone...etcetera, etcetera." Kit waved an arm, gesturing as he spoke. "They should be telling you at dinner, but if you don't end up attending, I'm sure any of your fellow schoolmates or prefects could tell you. Or me or the other adults. But it's all pretty basic stuff."
He sighed. "They're not...exactly sure about the hags, especially because they can take on different forms, but they've been spotted near the Forbidden Forest and I've heard something about suspicions that they might be lurking in the labyrinth of the castle dungeons somewhere. Who knows, though? Maybe they move around. But that's why we have to be extra vigilant."
The boy called Drew mentioned something about someone named Gregorí being in the house of the Horned Serpent. It took Kit a minute, watching the pair of boys, to place that Drew was referring to his companion and not some other person. It made sense when put together with the name 'Greg' that the caretaker had thought he'd heard earlier.
"Gregorí..." he repeated slowly, looking upon the Horned Serpent student. "The mind is a fine thing to hone, of course...but best not be neglecting your body in the process, mm?" He cast the boy what he hoped was an encouraging smile before glancing back at Jay. She was asking about the distance left to the cabins.
"Actually, we're just about here," he cheerfully answered, jerking his chin toward the cabin structures just a few yards ahead of them then. "I think they should have the schools labeled, as well as the boys' and girls' cabins marked,. But other than that, take your pick."
Upon hearing Gregorí's assent in regards to Jay's suggestion, the caretaker made a sound of approval. "Sounds good. You three settle in. I'll try to be back soon with the nurse and some tea for everyone."
With a final smile and a quick bow, he turned on his heel and headed back toward the castle, leaving the students to enter and explore the cabins prepared for their use.

The conversation between Jay and Kit carried on- they were talking about siblings. Drew had never been blessed with a sibling, though he had wanted one his entire life. It was so cheesy, but last year at the summer camp he had thought about how Greg was almost like his brother anyway.
They arrived at the cabins and Drew smiled with relief. Drew nodded to Kit, grinning. "Thanks, man." Usually he would be a lot more upbeat about it, and elaborate a lot more, but he really was concerned about Greg, and they had no time for talking if Greg needed to lay down or something. Even though he really hadn't done much to help at all, Drew felt very accomplished with himself. He had saved the life of his comrade and would now be rewarded with a nap.
To be honest, Drew had been able to sleep last night. He could sleep through just about everything. To be fair, he had been excited last night and slept a good chunk less, but what he had said about being tired wasn't entirely true. "Bye, Jay, see you later." Drew was grateful to Jay for lending help to Greg, even if it had been refused in the end. The boys then parted with Jay, letting her pick her bed in the girl's Ilvermorny cabin, while Drew led the way to the boy's cabin. He was still a little worried about Greg, but they had made it to the cabin okay, and so all was well.

Right. Stay away from the Forest, and don't go near the Castle. If those two locations were the only hotspots infested by hags, it seemed like the Campgrounds would be a very safe place out in the open.
Jayden's unease and concern fleeted away as she laid her eyes on the cabins. Finally, they had reached their destination! Jayden's excitement levels shot up again, eager to explore everything the Campgrounds had to offer, while everything was still quiet and clean, before the masses arrived. Was there a dining hall? A canteen? Or would the schools be squeezing into the Castle for their meals? Would there be classrooms set up for the visiting schools here? If Hogwarts still had their classes ongoing, surely the other schools wouldn't be halting academics either. This wasn't vacation, after all.
"You three settle in. I'll try to be back soon with the nurse and some tea for everyone."
"Okay," she chirped, beaming an innocent smile that she wouldn't get into trouble while Kit was away. "Bye, Kit! Thank you! Nice meeting you! See you soon!" She waved after him as the man departed.
She didn't mind, as the eldest and most alert -therefore responsible- one, keeping an eye on the boys until the nurse arrived. But it seemed like Andrew and Gregorí needed some time, and a nap, to themselves.
"Sleep well. I'll be checking out the Girls' cabin, if you need me," she replied cheerfully before heading off to find her quarters, eager to have the Girls' cabin all to herself, until the rest showed up.

Mr Paine had promised that he would call the Hogwarts school nurse and also pay a short visit to the cabins in order to get the three Ilvermony students some tea. Gregorí thanked him for that, and the friendly young caretaker headed back towards the main building of the school.
Jayden, the third-year Wampus, decided to check out the girls' cabin and bid the boys goodbye. "Thank you for offering me the tonic!" said Gregorí as she left. It was true that he did not accept the remedy, but it was all because the tonic was more suitable for motion sickness (what Jay assumed that the Horned Serpent suffered from) than for influenza or stomach flu (what Gregorí thought he actually had).
This left the Mexican boy with his closest friend. The two walked towards the boys' cabin without much chat, presumably because both were exhausted. I want a bed in a corner, Gregorí said inside his head, as far away as possible from the door. Theoretically speaking, it should be quieter there - even if not much. He hoped Drew did not mind having a bed which was right next to it.
There was one more thing he was hoping, in fact.
He hoped that the school nurse would come soon if he or she wanted to do a check-up on him. Otherwise, he would have fallen asleep by the time the adult came to the cabin!

Thanks everyone, it was fun RPing in this thread with the three of you! If you'd like another RP in the campgrounds for a direct continuation of this, or other threads (such as at the hunt event) always feel free to owl me!

She sighed a breath of relief as the Ilvermorny student left. For a moment, she stood there pondering if she was going to have to go up to the far too flamboyant headmaster and welcome him to the school in the fakest voice she could muster up. Because he was not welcome. She did not trust him. Not even slightly. That was the only reason she was here - to scout out the school and watch him. Luckily, she spotted @Maya Galim arriving and instantly marching up to him. It was definitely a relief, that was for sure. Even more so when the headmaster seemed to have caught the attention of @Kit Paine too. Great, two people to welcome him and explain what the school had to do, show them around yada yada yada. Things that she did not care about.
Her thoughts were disturbed as a student arrived, asking the one question that was playing on her own mind. Hjørdis sighed as she exampled the American boy that she obviously did not recognise, [@Lamik Fillestar's iNPC Novus]. He knew of the incident last year. This could only mean two things. One, he was present last year or two, he had heard it from someone else. Based on the fact that this was his very first question and a moment's pause as though he was questioning how to phrase it, she was assuming it was the former.
There was no point in lying about it but she had no clue what the truth was either. There was always a chance. There was a chance of absolutely anything happening at any point. They said Hogwarts was hidden to muggles but there was a chance that one would find it. It might have been a small chance but it still existed, no matter how small. "In light of what happened, we are taking every precaution we can," She replied. It was true. There would be professors in attendance and they would likely be more on the lookout for suspicious people - like hags in disguise. At the very least, it would not be a repeat now that they knew what to look out for, surely. Besides, who would try the same thing twice? "I assure you that we will do all we can to prevent a repeat," She did reply, "Of course, if you see anything that might be a risk or concern, please do let a member of staff know," Hjørdis could only hope that he did. She could only hope all students did. It was their safest option.
"It's almost lunch time, you should head in. I wish it came with a promise but I do welcome you to Hogwarts and I hope that you have a good stay here," She added as she looked back at the castle, "I have a meeting so I should depart for now, however. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to find me later," She continued, leaving it in his court as she nodded politely before turning to leave. She did, after all, have work to do - like ensuring a repeat did not happen.

Lazarus grinned, "Wonderful! Maya it is! Please, call me Lazarus," He would reply with a nod of his head as he continued the pleasantries and introduced himself to the lady. Becoming first name basis with her was a lot easier than he expected, he must have been doing well. Gosh, he was awfully good at this charm thing, if he did say so himself.
He guided her back to, well, her own place of employment as though he knew the place or where to go better than her. He likely did not but he knew enough to be able to get there without a moment's pause or hesitation. After all, this was not his first time visiting the castle. He had been wandering around it long enough to know, at the very least, how to get to the entrance without a problem. The main door did not move, after all.
"Oh, well it's simply quite wonderful!" He replied, lifting up his chest as he puffed with pride. He was a leader, after all. One of the best ones. At the very least, he was better than that Solomon Lear who led this school in his opinion. This school was on its road to danger and disaster. It would not be long before it burned down to the ground or got overrun by giants, he imagined, "It is such a fulfilling job and my students, understandably, love me for it. They have nothing but the deepest levels of respect, of course," He would add as he smirked.
The display of students disliking him was obviously not something he noticed. Well, he was either oblivious to it or simply choosing to pretend he was. Either way, he was very boastful about how great he was. After all, he was the Headmaster of one of the finest schools in the world. In fact, the finest.
