Playing Dirty
@Reid Kovacs
6:45PM, 2nd November.
The Slytherin was thankful the summer days had finally past and the winter winds had arrived. To her, it was always a more cosier time of year. To wrap up nice and warm by the fire with a book in hand and the harsh mix of wind and rain battering against the glass windows was very much therapeutic and the thought alone was peaceful. But of course, there were only so much of that the girl could do before she got fidgety in her seat. Deep down, her love for football couldn’t be kept hidden away. The sport was one of her favoured past time during her earlier childhood years way before Hogwarts.
Muggles were commonly known for playing it, though over time Falentra had joined in with a particular group of young lads on her street. At times it could defiantly be a dirty sport, meaning accidents happened and rough contact was involved. It explained why she had never really really seen many girls play. They preferred to watch rather than join. Herself on the other hand thought the more hands on and serious it got, the better. Accidental trips and bruises weren’t anything new to this particular fifteen year old.
She wasn’t sure why, but today she felt the need to get some practice in. It was probably all the memories she looked back that caused her needs to progress. It had been years since she had a kick around and knew of a place where a few had played within Hogwarts Grounds. There had been many a times whilst on her usual evening walks to the Great Lake that she saw a certain Hufflepuff having a kick around, most times on his own. In hope that he was to be there, she had made her way outside. If he weren’t to have been, she would have just wandered to the Lake to relax.
Upon her arrival there was no other than the Hufflepuff she mentioned. Reid Kovacs, though at this moment in time she did not know of him personally. Only that he played with skill.
She wondered now that the time had come whether or not she should have even approached the area without preparation. Despite the few friends she had made over the past months, her skills in communicating nicely were still in the works.
To turn back now would look stupid on her so instead, she stood her ground and gave the lad a quick wave as an acknowledgement before taking a few steps closer. “Alright.” She made her greeting quick. She never liked introductions. To her, they were someone’s way of instantly judging a person by how they spoke, or dressed even. At least, that’s how she seen it. Though today she had other plans. To dwell on the negative side of things were long gone and instead replaced with eagerness to get her hands dirty.
The Hufflepuff stood not far in front of her, a ball by his foot. Falentra gave a nod his way, signalling towards the ball. “I’ll give you a game.” She paused as a smirk crept on her lips then continued. “Don’t worry. I’ll go easy on you.” Now that she thought about it, she hadn’t even introduced herself, her house or anything. There were time for that to be told but right now she only cared to have a mess around.
