Michael had been searching for somewhere to read for forever. Just somewhere quiet, thats all he asked for.

Potions had too many explosions, the ballroom was full of hufflepuffs. Charms looked fine but his book was hexed out of his hands too many "accidental" times. Both the study room and library was full of slytherins and Ravenclaws, some talking in groups about everything from The latest Potter to the craziest prankster, sometimes them being the same.

He was out of options. . well not exactly.

Micheal sighed, disgusted and aggravated, as he pulled open the door. He looked around, quiet. Where did Michel find somewhere quiet? Why the Boys Lavatory. He say a wall that didn't look absolutely disgusting and sat down, not before putting down is outter robe first.

He was uncomfortable but it was quiet. He received his book from his bag, and smiled, Hogwarts: a history, a book he read when he was at home, and now one held read here. His very own addition.

His comfort lasted less than five minutes. It was interrupted by a boy coming in, making Michael feel like throwing his boom at him.

"You have got to be kidding me" he huffed.

What was Alec doing in the Boys' Lavatory at this moment? Well, um.. Actually.. See.. When one is desperate to avoid social interaction. And leave a conversation because you'd rather not be a part of it. This place can be used as an excuse. It's not that Alec didn't want to talk. It was more a matter of these kids were talking so fast Alec couldn't keep up. He was also expected to put input into a conversation he wasn't very invested in, in the first place. You can already bet his mind was miles away from what they were actually talking about in seconds.

The second Alec walked into the lavatory he paused. Was he going to be seen as weird for ditching kids to hang out in the lavatory? Actually, now that Alec was thinking about it. Yes. Yes, he was. He couldn't be seen as any more weird as he was seen when he wore black nail polish to ball now, could he? Sure, Alec had only gotten positive affirmation for the nail polish thing. But he could feel the stares. Alec let out a small sigh, looking around the lavatory.

He at the very least was going to have to spend the next five minutes here before they actually left. Alec's eyes glazed around the mostly empty lavatory till he came upon something odd. What was that kid doing here.. Reading? Alec hoped those weren't library books. Otherwise the librarian was going to throw a fi-"You have got to be kidding me" Alec blinked. Was the boy talking about him? That was one of a first. Alec had never met anyone who'd declare someone they just met annoying. Or well, if they did they never said it out loud.

Alec had a sneaking suspicion that a lot of people got annoyed of his constant talking once they got used to him. Or his mind blabber as well as constant zoning out. He could never stay focused. Alec moved out of the way of the door-way and further in. "I-u-um.. Sorry..?" He said in return, but it sounded more like asking a question. And his stutter was back now. Ah.. Wasn't that lovely? It wasn't as bad since he hadn't stuttered with every word he spoke for the longest time. But a small appearance of his small stutter liked to sneak out and make a show out of it when he let it. As Alec's gaze studied the boy he also noticed he couldn't be any older than twelve.

Alec didn't recognize him as a second year, though. But maybe it was just because of all the avoidance he'd been doing with everybody and everything since forever. "U-um.. I-if you don't mind me asking. Why are you reading the lavatory?" Alec asked. The boy cocked his head to the side as if to get more of his point across about his obvious confusion. Maybe he'd get an introduction from this interesting fellow?

The second the boy walked into the lavatory he paused. Seemingly deep in thought. Next he let out a small sigh, looking around the lavatory.

The boy's eyes looked around the lavatory till he was looking Micheal. As Michael spoke, he blinked. Then the boy moved out of the door-way and further in. "I-u-um.. Sorry..?" He said, but a statement asked like a question. And a stutter to boot. The boy seem to study him, as if he was trying to figure out what he had walked into.

"U-um.. I-if you don't mind me asking. Why are you reading the lavatory?" He asked. Next he cocked his head to the side as to show his confusion more.

Micheal shut his book completely, and put it back in his bag. Then he stopped debating getting up before deciding against it. "Because it was quiet." He said, leaning his head on the wall behind him and closing his eyes. The fact the boy didn't leave we he saw him shows he wanted to talk but Michael wasnt going to talk to some stuttering stranger, well not without showing how stubborn he can be. Though he was curious about the boy. . maybe. . no he wouldn't talk to a stranger.

Alec watched as the boy shut his book, putting it into his bag. Alec swore he'd seen the cover somewhere. Had he been reading one of the course books? Alec wasn't familiar with any other books other than those. Hours of extra studying to full spare time had led to seeing them so often Alec swore he could recite word for word at least the first few chapters of each.

But what came next was an answer Alec hadn't been expecting but should've been. "Because it was quiet." Yeah, about as quiet as the noise someone makes when getting hit in the face with a bludger. "Compared to the Gryffindor common room, sure." Alec said finally offering the stranger a smile. "Try the far back corner to the right in the library next time." Alec suggested. "Like a deserted town. The books are a bit dusty. Mainly old fairy tales.." Alec grinned his stutter gone he went on.

"I go there when I need to study. Or just want to get away." Alec added before finally deciding to introduce himself. "I'm Alec. Alec J-ergh.. um.. Sorry, my name is Alec. Just Alec." He said awkwardly. He was still working on it. Cutting the "J." out. He was getting there slowly. That was progress, right? "And you are?" Alec asked finally. He'd ought to busy himself.

Maybe this boy would be more interesting than the kids he'd been talking to in the corridor. Alec had zoned out multiple times, mostly thinking about the duelling matches. But also everything else.

For a twelve-year-old who'd given a tour of his tree late in the night for the fun of it. Naming it the "Monkey tree" he sure had a lot on his mind. At least. This year he hadn't upset a hufflepuff. Or well, not by any of his own actions. But that was a topic one could further discuss later.

Michael raised a brow, "You are a stranger, I'm not telling you my name, you. . you could be some creep" he said. He imagined he looked like a bird with its feathers ruffled. He looked around, before shrugging slightly.

He bite his lip, thinking. All it would take is the boy asking his name again and he'd probably tell him his life story. He got up brushing off his pants, not liking the idea of being below anyone. He felt awkward, the boy had been kind.

Maybe he could be nice, just this once. ". . but thanks, for the library spot." He smiled slightly before it disappeared, "And sorry if i sound mean, not really used to talking to people" he said then blushed, coughing slightly to get rid of the small lumb in his throat. "Umm anyway, i best get to going. I have things to do, and books to read. It was nice meeting you Alec" he said quickly before going to the door, looking down. He was so quickly on his exit plan that he wasnt watching where he was walking, and almost crashed into Alec. He jumped back, tripping on some water by the sink he pasted, and fell his stuff going everywhere. Oh how graceful.

This kid was weird. This was Hogwarts, not those weird American movies with every plot trope everywhere and every plot twist you could imagine. But right, sure Alec would carry on. It didn't bother him that someone had refused to tell them their name, not one bit. Except it did, and Alec was actually very confused by it. "I'm not a cre-" Alec said almost defiantly but stopped quickly. "Never mind, they probably are the ones the enter the lavatory with no intent of using it for it actual purpose." Alec said his voice trailed off, though the thought came to his mind that he could accuse Michael of the same Alec stayed quiet. Only paying attention when he was thanked for the library spot. Then Michael admitted he wasn't much of a conversationalist, that part was obvious.

"I wasn-I'm not-I.." Alec wasn't able to properly communicate in this moment. Alec hadn't been either, but a shame the weird acts of words had to be blamed on it. People could control what to say and when to close their mouth. The only exception may have been impulsive and upset Alec when he's mad at Starkey. But that was for another day. The kid and him had things sorted out now, their lives weren't complete messes, and everything seemed to be going fine. Alec watched as the boy made his way to exit the scene, staying quiet after that moment he watched. Watched as he slipped on water his stuf-Wait. He spilled on water. Oh frick, was he okay?

Alec moved closer right away, his eyes lingering on the boy to check for any physical signs of pain. When there was none, Alec let out a sigh of relief and knelt down to help the boy pick up his stuff. "The good news is your probably not dead." Alec said as he picked up more stuff, meaning the word in a joking way. And once he'd finished looking back over at the boy and speaking again. "The bad news is your pride might be a little scratched up." Alec set as he handed Michael his stuff, before helping him to his feet, denying any protests that may have come his way. "I believe a deserve a name to this interesting face now." Alec said simply.

Michael honestly wished the boy would have just laughed at him and left, leaving him to his own misery, but no the boy stayed. His side and butt hurt, and he was tempted to move his hand and hold the aching parts of himself, but not infront of another person. He listened to the young boy talk, joking about the oh so embarrassing fall he had infront of him.

Michael had to blink away tears as he stood and collected his things with the other boy. Miller not so gently grabbed the Hogwarts a history book from his hands. When the boy asked him about his name, Michael stopped his mind blank before the question, why does he care so much?

The boy stood, brushing himself off. "Michael" he said his voice guarded, hiding his confusion, "Michael Miller." He looked over the boy, licking his lips. "You're not going to tell anyone about that are you?" He asked, blushing anew, "about, about my fall because the floor was wet, it wasn't really my fault" he said. He didn't need anything else making him look bad this year, it had just started and he was already getting teased in his dorms.
