Broom Race
@Flash Holmwood as Yefim.Gah, bless it!
The race had started smoothly, easily pulling ahead of everyone else in my path. Just as we reached the first obstacle, a narrow passage, I put on a tiny burst of speed, just enough to slip by everyone and pass through the narrow way. My small, yet muscular form is just perfect for such an occasion, and I find myself counting my blessings for being who I am. Obstacle after Obstacle passes me and I focus solely on the goal, never minding the outside drama around me. Some people have already fallen, and some people have fallen behind, victims of slower brooms. While my Moontrimmer is certainly not the fastest broom on the market, is is more practical and more safe. I'm able to control it.
Just as we pass through a tight thicket, Yefim passes me, and despite myself, I feel a chill, veering away... and into a cluster of bramble vines. They scathe at me, ripping at my uniform and cutting up my arms and legs, entangling me in the midst of their thick foliage. Without much struggle, however, I yank myself free of my binds, listening to the sickening rip of flesh and fabric. Though these events may have caused other people to wince and collapse, I only grimace, gazing at the slowly oozing blood. This, not the impact I had suffered by my broom, would be the reason for my fall. I would have to resolve it somehow.
While I am not especially gifted with magic, I have tried and tried again to continue my studies. Flipping out my white yew wand, the identical twin of my brother's, I incant the repairing spell. "Reparo."
I intend to fix my clothes, obtaining a large enough strip of fabric to tie up my wounds. None of my older teammates are around to heal me. I have to rely on my self-taught survival skills.

Broom Race
@Katrina Walker (Iris Fields)
And the race had begun. Drew sped forward, wishing he had a better broom like some. He stuck close to his schoolmate, Iris Fields. Many elbows were tucked in as people tried to keep at the same pace, pushing to the front through the ginormous crowd. Few succeeded. Drew was shoved closer to the back. He tried to inch his way forward towards the front of the group, and he was semi-successful. They came out of the narrow passageway, a relief to Drew, and sped through open air, those with faster brooms being distinguished from those with average or school brooms. Iris called out to him, telling him that she was going to go a little bit ahead, and Drew yelled back, "Okay!"
He could see the forbidden forest up ahead. Apparently, for this one time, the name counted for nothing. It was not forbidden in this aspect. They were racing through it, after all. As he came near the forest, he took his wand out just in case. You never know with Hogwarts, and especially not with a dangerous forest next to Hogwarts. During a broom race. With some decently dangerous people. You know, this might not have been the safest thing these students have ever participated in... But they would be fine, of course they would. There was still the ball to attend! And Drew was not missing that. He scanned the crowd to find Iris a little ways ahead of him, still okay. Drew sped toward the forest, keeping his mind focused on the task at hand.

Broom Race
Right before kickoff, Angel heard her name turning her head around until she saw Milo's (@Annie Morgan) curly blonde hair. Quickly she blew him a kiss before looking forward his cheering for her bolstering her confidence. At the burst of light, Angel kicked off and went for it at high speed. The first challenge had been the viaduct, but that had been simple enough as she squeezed herself tight to her broom. Already being such a small frame helped immensely.Bolded Text – French | Regular Text – English
Next, however, had come the forbidden forest, and as she flew through, she wondered a little why they let them pass through it if it was forbidden, but the excitement to see the forest was enough to overrule the thought that they probably still shouldn’t be there. She deftly flew through the trees in the woods natural darkness, and she hoped that all the time she spent exploring the flora around her home in the twilight hours had helped with this.
As the forest got thicker, she hugged her broom tighter and tried to lay as flat against it as she could not wanting to bring on the wrath of those thorny branches. As she flew through the upcoming vines, she made a misstep and had gotten herself tangled in the vines. That was when she heard the buzzing. It was not that of a humble honey bee, no this was much bigger, and she did not have plans to stay there and find out She needed to gain more space between her and the rest. With all her strength, she ripped the vines that contained her and continued on towards the waterfall. Angel gripped her broom as tight as she could before she would inevitably become wet and gunned it.

Broom Race
Percival seemed to have started off the race perfectly, flying in the middle of the pack and trying to keep out of trouble as he zoomed down the course. His first obstacle was the narrow bridge, an obstacle that would be difficult to get through with everyone clumped together in a group. Thankfully he manged to get through unharmed, but others were not so lucky as they bounced repeatedly off the walls. Once they came out, their next obstacle was the dark forest that plagued many kids dreams. Without hesitation they all flew forwards, disappearing into the thick line of trees that plunged the area around them into darkness.
His eyes darted all around him as he went through the forest almost blindly, yet still going at a speed to try and keep up with the rest. However, as soon as he exited the dark forest he noticed he was far behind the leading pack. He grunted and slowly shook his head with determination as he tried to push his old broom further, trying hard to be a contender in his death race. He had come all this way unharmed and was adamant to continue, even if he didn't come in a decent place, finishing would be good enough for him and hogwarts. The only person he could see was a girl who he hadn't seen before, although he had no plans to attack her but instead left her alone to focus on getting back into this race "Come on you old thing I know you've got something left in you!" he shouted as he swiftly flew into the next area of the course.

Broom Race
The wind in his face, nothingness under his feet, the kickstart of adrenaline that always seemed to fuel him whenever he took to the air- it was all there. The race was on. Johann stole a sturdy spot in the centre of the crowd as they raced on, pulling himself up and through the narrow viaduct alongside his fellow racers- looking good. A relatively easy obstacle that let them dip their toes in the water before throwing them into the pool.
Crossing into the forbidden forest- as if that name meant anything-, Johannes could only duck his head as the fuzzy figures of branches whizzed by, tucking himself closer to his broom white-knuckled grasping at his wand. His eyes straining to distinguish things in the dim light past the rushing foliage, it was no wonder why this type of woods would prove a challenge, on foot or broom alike- rushing right through on a broom probably topped traversing slowly on land. You would think a habit of sneaking around would make for an advantage in such a situation of weave and dodge but alas, with tree cover this thick and thorny branches dangerous, it made for a bad combination. A bad combination that lead to our Durmstrang third year to snag a particularly well-placed bramble to the forehead zooming by, roughly combing over pulled back hair as it left behind a stinging gash that wept with blood.
Too close to the eye for comfort. A hiss left the boy as he cleared the forest bearing a dripping wound that wasn't there before. Shaking his head out like a dog after a bath, Johannes swiped at the spot with the back of his wand hand in irritation- smearing the whole mess further along but at the very least pulling the whole mess away from his eyes-, slightly dismayed to watch as the others headed on forward past a great thicket of vines and toward the sound of a gushing waterfall. Sorry Axel for the jacket but it isn't like the article hadn't been through worse then some water and bug juice buzzing. Buzzing. Humming, loud but distant. Yeah no, if Johannes wasn't a racer and instead a regular person traversing through these fields he would forever hem and haw at why they were allowing what sounded like giant bugs to get around freely as if they were docile cows out to graze.
This was only the beginning of the race and he was well on his way to looking like a stuck pig. C'mon, Johannes you've got this. If he booked it now then he could probably get through past everything and catch up- not nearly first place but at least closer to the brunt of the racers leading up the front. That assumed that he would be able to make it that far. Didn't matter, didn't hurt to try.

Broom Race

Mikael sped off at a quick speed keeping pace with Yefim. The boy's hands wrapped around the broom handle so hard that his knuckles had gone white. His heart seemed to thump inside his chest at a wild pace. Mikael wondered if it was possible for his heart to LEAP out of his chest. Common Sense said no, but he couldn't help the thought that had wormed its way into his mind. The wind whipped at his hair making it messier than it usually was.
The boy was a stark opposite to the boy he flew close with. While Yefim had a large grin on his face, Mikael had a deep frown across his own. Eyes narrowed in concentration, the boy took no notice of the poor souls that ended up stumbling at the sight of the pair. It was their fault for getting distracted. He passed through the first obstacle with what some would call practiced ease. Though Mikael couldn't help thinking of it as anything more than luck. He knew well that luck was a fickle thing, and getting a big head now would only ruin him. So Mik ignored the small victory concentration on the path ahead and his friend.
Mikael continued on almost right away. It felt like his heart would never be calm again. The thumping beat against his chest and reverberated up to his ears. In a way, it was comforting, though it felt just as frightening. The boy bolted forward on his broom he needed to continue. He needed to get to the front.

Roleplaying as Theodore Duncain
Theodore enjoyed this race to pieces. The nervosity he had started with, completely disappeared by now, carried away by the cool wind that blew in his face and ruffled the brown hair. Theo didn't regret not having signed up for the Ilvermorny Quidditch team. This was way better. Looking for a ball or trying to fight other players in attempt to score didn't seem so tempting, if he could instead just fly at the highest speed he could, dodging attacks and reaching the end. Grinning he looked out for Phyllis for a moment, before he made his way through the wood tangle they had been thrown into.

Aderline rushed through the youngest Petrov as he shot off the start line. His spell missed the pretty girl, but he wasn't overly worried, since his specialty wasn't spellwork in the first place. He shifted his weight forward, focusing all of his energy into going as fast as possible as quick as possible. An early lead would give him some room to wiggle, and at the moment, he was in the middle of the pack.
