Quinn had been extremely nervous in approaching the professor on this matter. He barely interacted with her as it was. He was like that with a lot of the professors, something he wanted to desperately fix. That wasn't the only reason he had been so nervous. It was silly to think about, but with Quinn being a Half-Giant he was worried that the professor would think he was aiming far above his own capabilities. However, this was to achieve a dream he had been longing for since he was a wee babe. Quinn needed to do this he didn't really have any other aspirations besides this. Without much more hesitation he had traveled up the North Tower of Hogwarts, and checked to see if the door to the Divination classroom was locked. It was unlocked thankfully, and he entered.
He was used to the pleasant looking classroom by now. He always chose the desk furthest from everyone for both room and to keep some of the smaller students less nervous. He had both a good and bad reputation amongst the school that was growing. The massive Irish boyo strolled through the classroom still in his school robes and uniform. His beard had grown into something a bit more burly now and covered much of his freckles. He looked more like a professor then a student with his stature, demeanor, and quite frankly his facial appearance. "Well...here goes nothing." Taking a deep breathe Quinn walked up the side stairs where there was curtain of beads that lead to Professor Kibitzer's office.
Unfortunately for him he bashed his forehead against the stone archway once again as he didn't duck enough. "God feckin dammit not again!! Why are these bloody archways so goddamned short!!" He bellowed out in pain and frustration as he squeezed his large, wide frame into the stair way that eventually dropped him out into her office. Blushing a bit after realizing he was probably too loud, Quinn quickly coughed and straightened himself out. "S-Shoot ah'm so sorry professor. A-Ah didn't mean to speak so unsightly in ye presence." He absently rubbed his throbbing forehead. "Ah know its after classes but ah hope ye don't mind me coming in to ask ye a few questions related to a slightly personal matter? Ah feel ye could really shed some light on this matter that the other professors might not be able to...and ye always seem to tell like it is. An frankly honesty is something ah'm in deep need of." He quickly fumbled out his accent thick but not unintelligble today. His emerald-blue eyes staring at the professor hopefully.
Quinn for his part stood well over 8 feet in height and had filled out quite well into his uniform. His arms looked more muscular and thick. His chest was becoming more pronounced and barrel even through his robe which was now appearing to become too small for him. His hands were the biggest anyone had probably ever seen and yet this giant bear of a man was a child acting more his age. Truly an interesting site to behold. Absently he scratched his growing and thick beard.

The Mystery deepens
Professor Kibitzer had very little patience for students who barged in without knocking. The thud of Quinn's skull against the doorway and the sound of beads crackling against one another would suffice as a substitute in this instance. She looked up from her desk, her chair moving backward as she tensed at the sight of what she believed, at first, to be a professor she did not recognize. But no, this wasn't one of them - this was one of the children, though by far the largest one she'd seen in her tenure. Part-giants were rare in America, and not regarded well when they did appear. Rosalind held no prejudice herself, at least none that she recognized. To him, he was just exceedingly large. His brutish appearance stemmed not from his species, but from his verbiage, and the passion with which he had headbutted her doorway.
"Mm," was her only reply. Was unsightly a word one could use to describe something that couldn't be seen? her eyes lingered on his beard, an uneasy look on her face at the bizarre sight of the massive child. Her instinct to offer him a seat was quelled by the thought that he would likely just break through it. They'd need to improvise. "There might be a beanbag or something I wouldn't mind breaking over there," she said, waving a hand absently toward a pile of discarded furniture from Professor Benoit's tenure. A few patchy looking poufs sat unattended, ready to be crushed under the hefty Hufflepuff. "Pull up a seat."
Quinn had attended enough lessons to earn a bit of hospitality, but there was only so much she could offer to someone his size. Of course, he had a favor to ask of his own. Rosalind couldn't stop a smirk from creeping onto her face when she was praised for 'telling it like it is'. If all he needed was that, he'd leave satisfied.
"I have the time for it. Mind your head and don't break anything else," she said, reaching over to pinch the handle of her teacup. She brought it to her lips, stilling her breath and waiting for the giant to offer his request. "Go on."

Carefully Quinn eyed one of the bean bags and gently grabbed it pulling it with extreme ease to just in front of the professor's desk. He then sat down as gently as he could part of his rear and large lower back resting against the bean bag while most of his lower body and weight were seated on the floor. Taking in a deep breath, Quinn smiled slightly. "I hope you can forgive my speech. It has been a little while since I have had to talk like this. I've gotten too used to not restraining my accent. My mom would be a little peeved that I let my skills slip." He couldn't help but laugh softly at that little comment before eyeing the professor and coughing lightly.
Quinn did this to try and lighten the mood further, as his accent had become surprisingly light and words much clearer to understand. It was clear that his heavy accent would dip in every now and then but for the most part he was more understandable. "Well let me give you a bit of background first and get to the point. As you know I'm a Half-Giant. I'm fully aware of the stigma my kind bares and the looks I get whether uncomfortable or not. As you can imagine growing up was interesting especially with two human parents. Anyway all my life I've been made fun of, told I'm not good enough, or just had people not encourage me. I know that when most people look at me they think me a brute, or slow, or just dimwitted. They don't bother to think I'm capable of so much more." He chuckled rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably. "As a result its caused me to grow up quickly and learn to rely solely on myself. Which for my goals has been pretty good. You see I have a grandfather who used to work for the department of mysteries. He of course never spoke of anything he did while working there but it has always fascinated me."
He paused for a moment finally getting to his main point. "See, ever since I could member everything life has to offer has made me curious. I love seeing how things work, I love questioning why things are the way they are." He sighed, "At the same time as a result being so curious has also gotten me into plenty of trouble. Whether I try or not it always seems like life gives me the short end. I know its unfair but it doesn't mean I don't hate it..." He realized he was getting off track and could feel his cheeks burn slightly with embarrassment. "O-Oh forgive me professor this is turning long. Anyway I wanted to know if you think I have a chance in hell of becoming an unspeakable. Do you think I will even be given a fair chance? Is it even possible?" He finally stated reaching the point of his visit. "Please be honest. Everyone I talk to either sugar coats it, doesn't take me seriously, or avoids it all together. I just want to know that my dream isn't worthless."

Rosalind pushed her tongue against her cheek as she watched Quinn sink onto the floor, using the beanbag as more of a backrest than a seat. Clearly, the castle wasn't designed with giants in mind. Very little in life was. "I don't mind the accent. Just mind your language," she said. And your head, she thought, but the opportunity for that comment had unfortunately passed. When he took off his accent, her brow rose - quite an impressive transformation. Much to the pleasure of her American ears, he managed to make himself quite comprehensible compared to some of the more heavily accented students at Hogwarts.
She couldn't help but laugh at his first bit of background - yes, it was hard to miss that he was a half-giant. "I'm aware," she said quietly, nodding as she listened. Perhaps it was disrespectful to laugh, but the boy seemed like he had a good sense of humor about himself. Maybe you had to when you were different from everyone else. His story, however, brought a more serious look to her face, pinning down the corners of her smile into a tight-lipped little frown. Two human parents? She knew better than to ask of his parents. So many students had come to her with stories of their own familial tragedies that the fact he had two parents was almost a pleasant surprise - and meant that he would not be asking her if they would die, or come back, or reincarnate, or anything of the sort.
Despite his digressions, she still listened. Leaning back, one leg crossed over the others, she could perhaps sense that things had gotten off-track, but at least had not taken to ignoring him completely. The story of the curious, downtrodden half-giant was at least an interesting one, even if it was a little self-indulgent for him to come and dump it on her desk like this.
Finally, the story reached its point. Rosalind sighed, leaning in to take hold of her teacup, preparing to provide a prediction for the student about their hopes and dreams... but she was brought to a sudden stop as she realized something. Quinn was not asking the teacup, he was asking her. Well, this was a situation she had not been prepared for. "Oh. Well, if we were talking about the American equivalent, my answer would be no. But with the Ministry, things are a little different..." She thought for a few moments. Unlikely, maybe. The deck would be stacked against him. But it seems like he knew that, and he was prepared to deal with it, if his story had been any indication.
"I think so. It's possible. There isn't any policy against it as far as I know, and if there is you'd have a good shot at getting it changed with how the culture's changing here," she murmured. "You'd have to work twice as hard for it as anyone else would, but it'd be possible. Think you want to?"

The Irish Half-Giant's eyes lit up and he nodded in affirmation as she finished. "Wait really you think so ma'am." That childish energetic tone that all kids and teens still possessed permeated his voice. Reminding Rosalind yet again that at his heart he was just a child. A child that had it rougher then most but a child still nonetheless. "I don't care if I have to get absolutely perfect scores on everything or work five times as hard as everyone else. If there is even an inkling that I can get in I want to take it. I'm not a total fool I know its easier said then done but..." A massive smile came upon his lips.
"...Your words are honestly reassuring. That means I have a chance and that's all I need." He reiterated. "To be honest, if you don't mind me saying this Professor. I was a bit afraid you'd think me silly or tell me to give up its hopeless. So I was a little surprised and also happy that I decided to ask you directly for this advice. Again forgive my earlier rudeness." He looked to her apologetically. "And um in truth this kind of helps as divination is something I plan to heavily focus on. Thank you professor I mean it." His cheeks turned a soft pink as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"That's what I said," Rosalind replied, dousing the half-giant's excitement with a bit of cold indifference. She took a sip of tea and set her cup aside, folding one hand over the other atop the desk. Suppressing a smile, she listened to him declare his intentions, smiling broadly as he thought of all the future hardship. It was good to see that the half-giants in this country weren't quite as beaten down as the ones at home. This kid stood a chance, with his attitude.
When he spoke about his worries - that she'd tell him it was hopeless - she couldn't help but laugh. Evidently, her reputation was doing work again. "Don't worry, I only tell people their dreams are hopeless when they're true." She gave him a bright, reassuring smile, big and wide to match his own. "You'll have to work hard if you want to do well in my class. But I can promise you one thing that should help - you'll be treated fairly. I judge my students by their skill and knowledge, nothing more."
She offered him a solemn nod, assuring him of his ability to succeed - before her gaze was suddenly drawn to some large wooden trunks in the corner of the room. "I'll have to make sure I have enough equipment that's sized for half-giant students, come to think of it." She lifted her quill up from the desk, jotting something down quickly before setting it aside again. "You've got a chance. Just focus on your studies if you're hoping to become an unspeakable. They're picky at the ministry."
