Amanda yelped at the sharp sting of Hildegard's hand on hers, retracting it quickly and holding it against her chest in defense. Her bottom lip trembled, all she wanted to do was run away and cry. She knew that doing that would not help her in the long run, and she had to speak up. She wasn't planning on being mean, but she wasn't going to sit here and let Hildegard push her around for no reason.
Amanda gently took her hand, stopping her in her tracks. She was careful not to pull hard as to not hurt her, but held her hand firmly.
"I have no idea what you have against me. Is this because I'm a Gryffindor? Hildegard, you don't even know me! Nor do you know what I'm thinking! Going around assuming that people are taking pity on you and being condescending when they're being kind is not a way to make friends. I want to be friends with you, but I won't let you push me around. We are equals, I'm no better than you are and vise versa. I'm probably the least brave person you will ever meet, but you wouldn't know that because you assumed you knew what I was like before truly getting to know me. That's not fair, to me or to you." She stated, her voice calm but stern. She didn't shout, nor get angry. She was simply talking to her in a normal tone, looking right into her eyes while she spoke.
"Thank you for trying to help, Lorelei. I appreciate it, but this is between Hildegard and I." She gave a small smile in the Ravenclaw's direction, turning back to Hildegard. Her smile remained as she awaited her response.

After listening to Amanda, Hildegard was frozen, Amanda's smile frozen her the most.
She started to think as fast as she could, why would one smile at someone who just mistreated them ?
-Am I overthinking ?! Why is she smiling ? Does that mean she was been sarcastic ? Just like when she treated me like a baby ?? She said she want to be friend right ? But then why was she mocking me earlier ? Was she really ? Wait she was taking revenge from when I called her ugly !? Maybe she want to be friend to plan a revenge ?! Merlin's beard ! I never should have mistreated her earlier ! I have to apologize ! I need to apologize ! It does not matter if she's been sincere or not anymore ! I need to ! Just in case ! Hildegard thought as fast as she could while still being frozen by the smile.
Once that she could she started to spell something with her mouth not succeeding because of the excess of emotion, because her eyes was slowly filling with tears.
She removed her hand from the hand of Amanda, turned at Lorelei starting to "run" to her, slipping in the middle of her way.
Before she fell again Hildegard grabbed Lorelei's shoulder and pivoted,getting on Lorelei's back hiding herself from Amanda.
As tears was starting to flow she tried to say it, she tried to say sorry.
-I...I...I'm....I'm...I'm s.... I'm so.... I'm soo... I'm soo scared !!!!
Her attempt failed, Hildegard's panic was to big for her to handle, it was too big for her to deal with it and apologize properly to Amanda. Instead all she could do was express her feeling, and ask for help.
-Lorelei ! I...I'm so sorry for earlier ! Please ! I'm so scared ! She...she is so scary !!! She said desperately finally starting to cry.

Lorelei panicked when Hildegard started crying. She turned at hugged her, a but awkwardly as she tried to figure out what to do. She glanced at Amanda for help.
What do I do, what do I do? she thought repeatedly.
"Um, I er, um, well," Lorelei could feel anxiety welling up inside her and tried to beat it down. What was she suppoed to do?
"Um, okay" she says, trying to think. She looks at her watch "Okay, we have twenty minutes. If we think that will be enough time to get back to our dorms, we can try and, I don't know, talk through this? Like, why does Amanda scare you, and stuff, figure out how we can all be friends and minimize misunderstandings and" she made a vague hand gesture. "I don't know. Does that sound like an okay plan?" She asked the other two, looking up at Amanda. "I'm not a therapist or anything, but I did do a bunch of independent reading on Psychology at my muggle school, so I might be able to do something to help. I went through a lot of wierd phases" she added as an explanation. She shrugged "I don't know, what do you guys think?"

Guilt filled her as she saw her starting to cry, her mouth falling slightly open. She was just trying to communicate and ask what the issue was, but now she'd made her upset.
"Okay, H-Hildegard, you need to take a deep breath. You just hit me and now I'm being scary? I'm not being rude to you, I'm just trying to have an honest conversation about what the issue is here.. take a moment to calm yourself down, I'm not going to do anything to you.." She said softly, taken aback by her sudden show of fright. None of this made any sense, first she was being rude for no reason, and now she was crying when she had tried to express herself and talk to her about it? This was quite frankly ridiculous, and Amanda felt sympathy for Lorelei, who seemed to be stuck in the middle.
"I'll wait until you're all calmed down so we can talk about this, because it's necessary. I don't understand why you're scared of me, I asked you what the issue was and expressed my feelings. Thank you Lorelei, I think she just needs to take a moment to catch her breath and gather her emotions... I'd really like to discuss this." She sighed, crossing her arms. Her expression was neutral, no anger shown on her face. Even though she believed her actions were still ridiculous, Amanda didn't want to scare her further, a neutral expression remaining. She wanted to hear Hildegard's words on it, and if she was just going to go crazy with anger again, Amanda was planning on leaving. She had quite frankly had enough.

Tears were now flowing, Hildegard could barely hear what the other two girls were saying nor recognize who was saying what.
She walked side by side with Lorelei, still using her to hide herself from Amanda as much as she could even thought that an impossible task to do.
Time passed, but the Slytherin could not determine how much time it was, maybe one minute ? Maybe ten ? Her state of mind stopped her from knowing that.
But her cries calmed down little by little, hardly but surely, until the point parts of Hildegard's fear were replaced, replaced by the feeling of shame and humiliation.
11 years old was the age where she did not know if she could still cry for childish reason or if it was "not acceptable".
At some point tears stopped but her face still looked like a crying one, the movement of her mouth and her nose nose breathing remained.
her face was red and her skin near her eyes were even more red, because she was rubbing it to remove her tears.
-I...I...I...I'm so sorry... Hildegard said without mentioning who she was talking to nor look at any of them.
It was probably time for a little talk...

Lorelei sighed, leading Hildegard and Amanda into a small corner where they would be out of the way.
"Right, time to try and channel my inner Picani, let's hope this works" she muttered to herself
"Okay" she said, sitting down on the ground, "We need to figure this out. Personally, I don't think anyone has done anything wrong, I'm sure the majority of this is, confusion, misunderstanding, and I don't know, probably worry over accidentally staying out too late. Now, no one take anything I say for about a minute seriously. I'm just, thinking out loud, I don't want to accidentally offend anyone. Hildegard, you're a pureblood, and I'm not sure what you are Amanda, but that does rule out some comparisons I could use. That isn't a big deal, I just need to think harder to make sure you'll both understand what I'm saying. Houses, Hildegard's a Slythrin, Amanda a Gryffindor, I'm Ravenclaw. Might be helpful if one of us was or knew a Hufflepuff, but no matter. Um, what else? Family situation? I don'twant to pry though, so we'll avoid that unless you're both comfortable with that kind of talk."

Hildegard was walking as fast as she could when Lorelei reminded her of that, apologizing and begging Amanda not to bully her "anymore" could wait a bit, anyway Hildegard realized that Lorelei really wanted her and the Gryffindor to make up so she knew that she could let it all on the Ravenclaw girl's hand.
During the walk she set eyes on Amanda multiple times, eyes filled with fears, not maintaining eyes contact at all.
-I...i don't mind talking ab..about my family Lorelei, b...but I may not have the most happy things to say about them... To be honest, I kind of pity my mother a bit... And what about your family ? Hildegard asked to try to make the atmosphere a bit better.

The whole situation still made little to no sense to the Gryffindor. She considered herself to be relatively mature for an 11 year old, being able to decipher most situations. She had never started any fights with anyone, nor been anything but kind. That was how she was raised and taught to be. It made sense that she had no idea why Hildegard was so upset, because she didn't believe she had done anything wrong.
Amanda was relieved as the Slytherin started to calm down. She wouldn't say another thing, she had said what was needed. It was now Hildegard's turn to explain herself and her rude actions. Maybe she was braver than she thought... She had managed to stand up to a bully, and defend herself. This made a small smile come to her face, her mother would be proud. Now she never meant to make Hildegard cry, nor was she proud of that part. Though she didn't believe it was her fault that Hildegard was crying, rather a result of her own childish actions and emotions. Amanda hadn't said anything rude or insulting to her or her character, so it baffled her why she was so upset.
"Good idea, Lorelei! We can definitely pick this up later. It's probably in everyone's best interest to get back to the common rooms and dorms to get a good night's sleep." She smiled, her spirits lifted.
As they walked back, Hildegard asked a question about family. She assumed that the question wasn't directed towards her, and decided to stay silent.
