The eleven-year-old Hufflepuff blushed at the mention of dancing. Even though she did not have a clear idea of how it would be - such as what kind of dancing would actually be held - she was very excited of it. Elisabeth just loved dancing, as long as she regarded the dance as classy or elegant in some ways. That is to say, she had nothing against fans of hip hop or break dances, but she herself was not one of them.
Suddenly she stopped. She liked dancing all right, but what about Gregorí? From the previous conversations, she had concluded that he did not enjoy it; and tonight everyone ought to have fun! The girl did not want to spoil someone else's evening by making them doing things that she enjoyed but the other party did not. It would be so self-centered of her.
As they kept on walking to the snack bar, she spotted a fellow first-year, whom she sometimes saw in the Hufflepuff common room but had never interacted before, looking at her; so she gave the student a friendly smile and a polite nod acknowledging her attention. That girl was talking to Ravenclaw Robert Toukmond, whom Elisabeth remembered from their trip to school across the Great Lake. She also sent him a nod, but unbeknownst to the Hufflepuff herself, it was a rather cool nod. Clearly, Elisabeth was still displeased with his failure to help her that September evening.
The Hispanic-Asian girl then turned her attention back to Gregorí. "Pero no te gusta bailar," she remarked. "No quiero que hagas cosas que no te gustan." *)

The Fall Ball (Costume Party)
Interacting with @Frost Cira and @Amadea CampbellCostume:ReducioAction: Entering the party
Delilah was running late, she had to admit, for a couple reason, the first was that she was a bit stressed about this party, the second was because the face paint and body paint did a while. There was probably a spell for it but she did it by hand. She was invited her by Frost to go with her and Amadea. She knew Frost a little bit from their shared time on the newspaper team but not much more than that. But not many fourth years stuck around anymore so the more friends her age she could get, she would take. And besides, her granny wanted her to have more fun, be more adventurous, meet more people. So thats what she would do.
Entering the rehearsal room she had a scan around, but to her confusion, there was 30 chocolate frogs hopping about... What? She hadn't been to any parties or anything like that since about first year, maybe second year? Either way, not in a very long time. Last time, a table was set on fire, a bunch of hufflepuffs got upset because of the memories of the bonfire, and here there's just frogs? Every ball and party she had heard about had went wrong, and this one just had frogs? At least she had people to talk to this time rather than waiting for people and then them barely even showing up. But that wasn't exactly their fault anyway.
Within a few seconds she was able to spot Amadeas outfit, and Frost standing next to her. The ravenclaw excitedly skipped over to them, instantly calmed with the lack of chaos in the room. When she got up to them she smiled. "Sorry I'm late, took longer than I thought to do the face paint." She said to the hufflepuffs, "Hope you weren't waiting for me too long, whats going on here?" She asked, referring to the chocolate frogs hopping about the floor.

Gregorí has kind of predicted that Elisabeth might reply like that. Even though they were new friends, he knew from the start that she was very kind and sweet, always concerned about everybody else but herself. Thus it was no surprise (at least not really) that the Hogwarts girl tried to decline dancing, an activity she enjoyed very much, because she knew Gregorí was not into it.
"But I want you to enjoy this party," he assured Elisabeth, in Spanish. "I don't want to make you stay in a place where you aren't comfortable - like this room, am I right? Yes I'm not very much into dancing like you are, but I don't hate it either, and I really want to be there with you. Even if I'm not really good at it." The Ilvermony boy paused for two or three seconds before adding, still in their mother tongue, "I mean, if it's alright with you."
He turned to see what the other three were doing while he was talking with Elisabeth. Drew was oddly kind of quiet, but maybe it was just because nobody was particularly speaking to him. Jess was muttering something to Akari, her face serious.
Gregorí simply shrugged. Some people really disliked when others were talking in low voice in front of them, but he himself did not even care. Yeah some people thought he was too indifferent, but then again, why should he care about that? Most people did not pay him any mind, so what was the point of worrying about them? He had nothing against them, but people who mattered were only the ones who genuinely cared about him; people like his family, like Drew, and Elisabeth.
Drew? Oh right, he was going to ask Drew if a slight change of plan would be OK for him. Gregorí took a glass of butterbeer and offered it to his best friend. If the American boy did not want any, he would put it back to the table. "Hey, let me ask you something," Gregorí said to Drew in his usual very direct style. "Do you mind a slight change of plan? I know we were actually going to have that 'double date' thing... but Elisabeth seemed rather uncomfortable in this room, and Akari still wanted to spend some time here. I was thinking to take her to the dance instead; she'll love it, I'm sure."
What the Mexican boy did not realize was that he would probably surprise his closest friend by saying all these words. This was the first time he proactively suggested to do something without his best friend accompanying him. Moreover, at the beginning he was the one reluctant to have what people called "a prom date" (or something similar), so reluctant that Drew suggested they would go on a double date - but now Greg was ready to try a dance, away from Drew, just so Elisabeth would enjoy the evening.

"Well, I'm not letting y'all leave me here alone," Drew said as everyone agreed to go get butterbeer. Jess started to whisper to Akari and Greg and Elisabeth were talking in beautiful Spanish nonsense, so Drew led the group toward the place of food. Greg caught his attention and Drew turned to him, taking the butterbeer. "Yeah, sure, what's up?" Greg explained his plan of taking Elisabeth to the masquerade so they could dance. Drew grinned, almost teasingly. Greg had been the one reluctant to meet Elisabeth, so much so that he had asked Drew to come along. Greg was usually shy, so Drew hadn't been surprised then. But then again... Maybe there was something going on between Greg and Elisabeth? Some romance?
Anyway, Drew nodded. "Sure, that sounds great. We'll come join you soon." He took a sip of butterbeer, licking off the frothy bubbles that lingered on his upper lip from the drink. It was really good, and it made Drew feel really warm inside. Even though he already did feel really warm inside- he was right next to Akari, after all. When there was a smooth break in Akari and Jess' conversation, Drew would approach them. "I've never tried butterbeer before and it's really good." He took another sip, again wiping off his bubbles mustache. Then, he decided to pass on the news of Greg and Elisabeth moving balls. "Greg and Elisabeth are gonna go to the masquerade. We could go now or join them later. I don't really care." To be honest, they were kind of completely and totally adorable.

This uncontrollable laughter was getting to be really annoying. Here Robert was, at a social gathering, where he wasn't able to talk, eat, or even just listen in on a conversation without disrupting it. However, he was determined to stick it out. After all, most potions wear off eventually, and the first-year had no reason to suspect that the party's planners wanted half the people there unable to partake in even the most basic of social interactions. "It's... alright... I can just... wait for it... to wear off," he squeezed out amidst the giggles in response to Callista's offer.
At Quinn's observation of the Headmaster, the laughing banana turned around to see the older man fumble with a wizard cracker and drop it on the floor. He definitely didn't look healthy, but then again, he hadn't looked great at the Sorting Ceremony either. "Right... behind you... Quinn," Robert wheezed. He purposefully followed a bit slower than the other Ravenclaw, partly because walking is quite hard when doubled over in laughter, but mostly because he didn't want his first impression on the headmaster to be one of him laughing uncontrollably, especially when he was supposed to be worried. Hopefully the potion would wear off soon.
While slowly meandering over, he noticed Elisabeth, the girl he had (mostly) shared a boat with on the ride to Hogwarts, until she fell out. If this laughter had been anything close to natural, the sight of her would have immediately stopped it. He was glad to see that she was okay, but still felt terrible about his part in her accidental bath. Even a month and a half later, he was still beating himself up for not giving her a hand she'd asked for. He hoped she would understand that it was nothing personal against her, but by the cool nod she gave him, the chance of that was minimal.
Unfortunately for both of them, Robert was not brave enough to confront the Part-Veela, especially when she was already in the company multiple other people he didn't recognize, even if he wasn't currently incapacitated. Instead, he decided the better course of action would be to drown his woes in chocolate. Looking around, he noticed that the floor was littered with chocolate frogs jumping everywhere. He'd most likely been too busy laughing his head off earlier to notice them, but now that he did, he supposed that they would probably be safe from being infused with other potions, as they weren't on the "Tricky Treats" table. Seeing one hopping around his feet, the already doubled-over banana bent down the rest of the way to pick it up.
Action: Picking up a chocolate frog, will eat once the laughing effects wear off

Naturally, he retaliated. The boy had destroyed her pumpkin, so Bridget had thrown pumpkin guts at him, and now he was going to try and get even. Well, him and his friend, apparently. Another boy, this one someone she vaguely recognized as the Durmstrang Seeker from the summer match, came over with a mug of some sort of liquid. It wasn't hard to determine his intentions, but even as she prepared to be doused in the drink and hopefully try to avoid the worst of it, she didn't have to. Somehow, he managed to slosh the liquid at the first boy instead of her.
She would never admit it out loud, but the language barrier was worrisome. The Durmstrang boys seemed to be mostly talking to themselves and yelling at another boy, but it would also be all too easy for them to plan something and she wouldn't be able to understand a word of it. Bridget used the time where their attention was elsewhere to stand up; if she was going to deal with this, she was going to deal with this on her feet. Besides, she had no idea how far they would take this and she really didn't want her face at kicking level.
As the first boy yelled and reached down to grab more pumpkin guts, which she'd apparently made some sort of projectile. Reflexes honed over her time as a Quidditch player kicked in and she just managed to avoid the slimy material being flung her way.
She had no intent to retaliate, especially since he'd missed, but Bridget noticed Pericles coming over. The Prefect's presence served to calm her down, stomping out whatever last bits of anger she had. This was a ball and Pericles already had enough to worry about; Bridget was not going to make things harder for him.
Also, there was something decidedly off about the boy that had stomped her pumpkin. It had nothing to do with his hair sticking up or the fact he'd been the victim of pumpkin guts and butterbeer, but more a weird feeling he gave her. She wasn't sure quite what it was, but it reminded her of someone else, just in the opposite way. Flash Holmwood had a way of putting her at ease, but this boy put her on edge. It wasn't really an appreciated feeling, but it was a reminder that this was a Hogwarts ball and things could go wrong all too easily. It just wasn't worth getting into some food fight with a stranger over a ruined pumpkin.
While the Durmstrang boys were busy with Pericles, Bridget turned back to Thora. "Hey, um, I know we were planning on staying here, but I'm going to head over to the Masquerade. Just to check on how things are going." She hadn't completely given up on this ball having the chance of ending okay, but there was something about having no idea what was happening to so many people she cared about that scared her. Besides, the Costume Party had lost its appeal of fun, to her at least. Pumpkin carving had really been the only part that had interested her and that clearly had ended.
"You can come if you want, I don't mind either way." She wanted Thora close too, but honestly, the ballroom probably held a whole lot of bad memories for her best friend, even worse than the ones Bridget had. Whether with her friend or not, Bridget headed out of the Rehearsal Room and down the hall towards the Masquerade. Did it look like she was running away? Maybe. Sometimes, the best way to end a conflict was just to remove yourself from it.

The Fall Ball (Costume Party)
It didn't take long for Logan to get tired of dancing. This kid needed some actual fun. It was Halloween, for crying out loud.
They left the ballroom and went straight for the costume party. Logan took in all the decorations, the music, even though he doesn't know wizarding music, and the treats.
One treat in particular caught his eye: a ball of chocolate. Chocolate was the best flavor to anything as far as far as he was concerned.
He noticed that some people wore costumes, others didn't. He turned to Alina and said,Something didn't feel right. The fact that he had a girlfriend that just wanted to do the stuff he wanted didn't feel good. He can be an insensitive person somethings, (he actually has no control over that) but he wanted her to have equal control over this relationship. So he turned to her and said,"I don't know if I'm over-dressed or under-dressed."He didn't have any real friends but Alina and Damion and he never even saw Damion at the dance."Are you sad we left the dance? The way you were looking around made it look like you wanted to stay at little longer."He mentally facepalmed himself. Bring up the topic of a girl's ex-boyfriend was not the best course of action. So instead of asking about him, Logan just left it at that."Sorry for ghosting out those couple days. I bet your old boyfriend never did that."

Elisabeth's face flushed and she felt it all hot now. She had never been very successful in social interactions as a tween, perhaps because she was terribly shy and... well... different - something teenagers usually emphasised on deciding whether they want to befriend a certain person or not - but now here was someone who understood her, accepted her and wanted very much to make her feel comfortable.
Her cheeks burned even stronger when Gregorí directly guessed that she felt uncomfortable in the Rehearsal Room. She was kind of concerned if that made him consider her as whiny or picky (or something else similar to these), and he knew she felt that way. About the place, not the whiny thing of course!
She told him sí, *) and Gregorí proceeded to tell Drew that he was taking her to the masquerade. Drew signaled that he understood, and then told Jess and Akari that the two would move to the Ballroom. Elisabeth smiled at the three and waved them see-you-later.
On their way out, Elisabeth accidentally hit a student in a frog costume with her arm, because she was so excited and almost ran all the way. "Sorry!" she quickly apologised, slightly panic because she really did not want to either hurt the person or tear the costume. But when she took a better look at the "frog" who was surrounded by his friends, everything seems all right, so she was glad. Giving the boy a sincere apologetic nod and smile, Elisabeth returned to Gregorí and the two continued their way to the Ballroom.

"I'm Jo Morgan. Second year Gryffindor." Jo replied as the barrette clicked into place. Hopefully the boy had learned his lesson and wouldn't try too many more crazy treats. At least not until the Pompion potion wore off."Heh, thanks. But I couldn't possibly -uh- What's your name?"
"Sure!" It seemed as if the boy wasn't too keen on keeping her sparkly hairpin. Of course, not many boys usually were. A shame, really. They were all squandering an opportunity to look fabulous and keep their hair out of their face. In fact, perhaps Quidditch playing efficiency would increase by having all the team members pin back their hair so it wouldn’t flap at their face and get into their eyes."I can give it back to you when the party's over, owl tomorrow. Or when the effect wears off, if I find you again. Either way, uh, thanks."
Right. House-elves. Sometimes Jo forgot entirely that the little creatures scurrying around the school were elves and not goblins or gnomes, which in the Muggle meanings of the terms seemed to be much closer. The house-elves certainly had pointed ears, but any resemblance to their fantasy counterparts ended there. In fact, while Jo had yet to come across a fictional elf that was not beautiful with long golden locks of hair and stunning blue eyes, some of the house-elves of Hogwarts were borderline revolting to look at.“Pretty as an Elf, I'll be tonight. Uh, Tolkien's Elves, not house-elves.”
“Hopefully so.” Jo smiled.
Suddenly, the air around her seemed to get much, much heavier. The girl couldn’t help but look a bit panicked until her feet gracefully floated back down to the ground. Where they belonged, of course. Whew! For a moment, she was sure that the pumpkin juice she’d ingested had finally begun to wreak its havoc on her.
"About time, too," she muttered as she gave Jack a basilisk glare. Ah, if only her looks could kill.
With everything, including her own body, settled down for a moment, Jo finally took the time to properly look inside of her wizard cracker. She found herself pleasantly surprised by the adorable black cat ring inside. While she saw no practical use in feathery hats, the accessory was small and stylish enough for use beyond the holiday. This was definitely too cute not to go into Jo's ordinary wardrobe. Jo twirled the ring in between her fingers, admiring how it seemed to fit her finger size perfectly. In fact, if she just slipped it on....
At that very moment, something slimy and cold touched the inside of her leg.
"Eek!"
Jo slapped at her leg and it moved, confirming her worst fears with a squelching noise. Something was inside her skirt, and it was hopping to and fro. She felt it climbing up her thigh and shook her leg until it fell off, landing on the calf of her other foot. Jo grabbed at the area where she felt the slimy thing and, screaming internally, pulled out a terrified-looking Chocolate Frog.
The thing must have gotten trapped when she floated to the ground!
Jo decided to blame Jack for the event in her mind- after all, it was his Fizzing Whizbee that had indirectly caused this mayhem. But until she could get her hands on him, the frog would have to serve as a substitute for her wrath. The Gryffindor selected a warm cup of masala chai tea and slowly, carefully, slipped the struggling frog into it.
It clawed at the edges of the cup, and brown frothy bubbles began to form at its mouth. Jo moved closer to it, holding the cup at eye level with a malicious smile.
"This is your fault," she purred softly to the disintegrating frog as its wide desperate eyes stared into hers and, with arms melted too far to grasp at the cup's edges, it began to sink slowly to its demise. "You ought to have known that a good gentleman should never embarrass a lady at a Ball. And you certainly embarrassed me - to say the least. Wouldn't you agree?"
The frog's legs must have failed it as well, for its slimy torso dropped sharply into the hot bath of shame, leaving it bobbing up and down in the liquid. Chai lapped at its face, seeping into a chocolate mouth that spluttered and gagged in vain.
Grabbing a nearby spoon, the girl stirred the last remnants of the unfortunate amphibian into her drink, watching with no small amount of hidden satisfaction as the final few clumps dissolved into nothing. Of course, the frog itself was only practice...
With a devil-may-care grin, Jo took a big sip of her newly-made chocolate chai tea. She'd fix whatever strange things happened to her later. For now, she savored the taste of revenge, sweet and piping hot.

Alina looked around the new environment. The Rehearsal Room had such a different feel compared to that of the Ballroom but was equally amazing all the same. While lowkey as far as activities, there was still plenty to do there and she wondered once again if she knew anyone else in the room.
Logan mentioned being perhaps overdressed or under dressed and she lifted off her mask, setting it aside on a table before doing the same to his and smiling softly as she looked to his blue eyes. It was okay they were there.
But then his words kept coming and he mentioned the ex-boyfriend, the one she had been trying so desperately to hold onto without knowing it and the one she had just recently tried to officially let go. No, no Clifton wouldn't have gone MIA on her when he was there at Hogwarts. No, he wouldn't have gotten absorbed into himself. No, he wouldn't be oblivious to the fact that every single thing in her life seemed to be falling apart. ...And yet, while he wouldn't leave her like that alone when he was at Hogwarts - he had left her, completely and utterly alone for the rest of her days.
"If you'll excuse me..." she whispered, trying her best to be polite. She managed the smallest of smiles before walking across the room to where the pumpkins were. He could try his candies, he could think about racing, he could find his friends. She just wanted some time to herself...and a pumpkin to carve as a distraction from her wandering mind.
