A meeting between a Raven and whatever she is CL

Reed was standing in the snow covered field looking over everyone else throwing snowballs and having fun. Reed smiled seeing everyone having a blast, and even a few teachers joining in. Reed wasn't exactly up for this to begin with. Not to mention now with his injuries. Instead he tightened his blue, and gold scarf, and sat in the snow against a tree. He opened to page 246 of the book he just borrowed from the library "The mind on dark arts." Speaking of the mental abuse one can take while using dark magics. It was an interesting read, pointing out how the already deranged can become unbelievably cruel under the effects of dark magic, and the power trip along with it.

Sighing contently with the book in his hands, and the sound of all the other kids playing out in the grounds, he almost lost track of time. Before he knew it, he had reached the last page of the 300 page book. He read the last sentence out loud in a mutter.

"In conclusion, dark arts are nothing to nod at. though the magical effects don't directly affect the mind, the mental warfare it can give a user is enough to make any user go bad. SO to any wanting to pick up dark arts, one simple thing can be said...Make sure you have the willpower." He slammed the book shut and saw kids still playing. Reed sighed and stood up, quickly turning around and bumping into....a walking clothes closet? When he did the other person barely moved. If anything it was like he walked into a rock. "Oh sorry! I didn't mean to." He apologized.

The odd yet sudden snowfall was an exciting treat for everyone it seemed. A snowball fight raged on the grounds, children mercilessly pelting each other with cold white ammunition all while laughing and screaming as one would expect. Krez did enjoy a good snow based war here and there, but she felt the need to pass on this one. Making snow angels and building a very tiny snowman would suffice for her this time around. Besides, it wasn't like she wouldn't get another chance to snowball fight.

After a good while of making silly shapes in the snow and just generally hopping about having a good time, Kreszentia felt satisfied with her work and decided to go spectate the little battle still raging. Wouldn't want to miss out on all of the good stuff, after all! Dusting herself off and shaking cold flakes out of her hair, she headed back towards the fray to see the progress that had been made while she wasn't looking. As she strolled past some arbitrary tree, some kid she hadn't seen popped out from behind the trunk and rammed right into her. Didn't quite knock her over, but still smarted just a bit.
She instinctively brought up a fist to retaliate, as she wasn't expecting it and wasn't sure if he did it on purpose or not, but dropped her arm back to her side when she apologized. Then she felt like that was a bit of an overreaction on her part. He had no reason to ambush her in the first place, and she had just jumped back on the defense right after relaxing. Poor kid didn't really look all too capable to jump her anyway. Barely any muscle mass, and she swore she spotted some bandaging under his hair. She blushed at her realization of her mistake and pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to hide her embarrassment.

Reed quickly reached for his side when the blonde raised a fist, and backed off, the sudden action tugging his bandages making him wince. In that moment he noticed the strange...person rubbing the bridge between their eyes. 'Another mute? there's another one around here if I remember...' Reed thought before straightening his posture.

"Are you okay? I kinda bumped into you there." He asks picking up his book from the snow, and wiping off whatever stuck on it. none of it melted so it seemed like no damage was done to the book.

"Uhm. I haven't met you. I'm Reed...Reed Wesley. From Ravenclaw." He said, smiling. His prefect badge was finally sewn onto every robe he owned so he didn't need to introduce himself as 'the new prefect' which he was happy about.

This girl was a bit on the quiet side, and Reed was used to it. His mom had surgery done one year that had her speechless for a year when he was littler. Looking over the girl he determined a few things. She was obviously on edge, since her first reaction was to raise a fist, and she wasn't much of a talker, considering she didn't say a word after a shock like that.

She looked back up at him, perplexed as to why he was concerned bout her at all after she just threatened to punch his lights out. This boy, Reed he said his name was, appeared to be one of the many kids here that she felt was too nice for their own good. You don't just introduce yourself to someone who almost tried knock you out, but there he was. Doing just that. She sighed.
She scanned him over, getting a better look at him, before huffily holding a hand out to him rather than a fist. If he was gonna be cordial she might as well make an attempt at the very least to do the same. "Kreszen-mmgh." A brief growl of frustration interrupted that name. By now she should've known better. No one was ever gonna use her full name and even if they did, they didn't want to. Clearing her throat she tried one more time. "Krez." She finally introduced herself, albeit quietly. "I uh, didn't mean to...do zhat..." Not really an apology, but a sign of regret. It still counted, right? She certainly thought so. It was going to take a lot more than a friendly smile and a polite intro to get her to say sorry, apparently.
She maybe would've picked up his books for him had she bothered to notice in time, but he had taken care of that himself and it kind of made her feel like more of a bad person. That was happening a lot lately, and there wasn't much chance of her getting used to it anytime soon.

Reed nodded to the blonde girl when she introduced herself, noticing she cut herself off. Reed WOULD asked why, but the two of them had just met. He wouldn't want to get too personal, especially after almost getting his lights punched out.

"It's alright! I just caught you off guard by mistake is all. Don't worry about it." Reed said to her, taking her hand and shaking. "See? Nothing wrong here, just one big mistake!" He said happily, looking behind the gryffindor to see her mess of snow. Figuring he'd try to be friendly since his duties were taken care of til patrols he decided to get to be friendly. He only had one person he considered a friend so far, and even then it was a bit more on the formal side of things on account of their bonding being because of spell accidents.

"Do you want to make a snowman or something? I can't do too much else with the other kids right now anyways." He smiled at krez, and broke the handshake. He may seem too friendly to some, but it was his job. He had to be someone people could trust, and come to if they needed help. Every prefect had to.

The insistence that their initial encounter was nothing more than a misunderstanding, followed by the offer to play carefully in the snow, only really confused her more than before. He was way too willing to hang out with her after he had just witnessed how vicious she could be. Then again, she noted the bandaging on his head for the second time and felt a bit of pity. Perhaps he was still recovering and didn't register things right just yet? It'd maybe be a nice gesture to accompany him and give him something to do instead of sit behind trees where he couldn't be seen. Seemed okay to her.

She shrugged and nodded as he broke the handshake, quickly taking him by the sleeve before he could get his hand back in place so she could drag him along. Krez didn't have to tow him like that, but she wasn't sure how capable he was going to be and didn't want to take any risks of him somehow wandering off. Surely that wasn't the kind of head damage he had sustained, but better to be safe than sorry.
It would have worked to make some snow creations right where they had been, but it was all used up from snow angels and bootprints, so she planned to find a fresh, undisturbed patch for him to play in. That way they could start anew, literally and maybe a little figuratively? Sure, why not? It wasn't like she was thinking about the symbolism in playing outside.

The girl who was, admittedly, much stronger than him was able to pull him along without any problem. Seeing that she had been playing in the snow in the general area the entire time...She was so quiet it was borderline terrifying.

They walked through Krez's field of snow-based destruction for a few seconds before getting to a clear field of snow. Reed broke free of Krez's grip, and slipped on his gloves before going on his knees to make a snowball. "So I can start the bottom part. This'll be HUGE!" He said happily before starting to roll the ball in the snow. Anyone who would pay attention would see he was using his left arm way more than his right in the process.

After a rolling the ball in the fresh snow along the winter ground it had gotten to a reasonable size, being almost three feet tall, and was getting to be a bit too heavy for the scrawny prefect. He let out a grunt, and said "Just a little more." as he gave it one more big push. Doing so made him lose balance and fall face-first into the large snowball, breaking it into several pieces. He shot back up, and wiped the snow off of his now red face, and looked around to see if the gryffindor girl was watching what happened.

The moment he began to roll the base out, she perked up, knowing instantly what her job would be! She gathered some snow and began to start rolling what would either be the head or the trunk of the snowman, depending on whether or not he wanted it to be short or tall. She cast him an occasional glance to make sure he was doing okay, taking note of him favoring an arm as he went along.
At some point when she peeped at him again, she was astonished by just how big he had gotten his snowball, and didn't blame him for struggling with it. This slowed down her rolling process until she just stopped altogether, getting just a bit worried about him hurting himself trying to make it any larger. Just as she was about to come over to help him, he fell right into all that hard work, pulling himself out just as quickly as he fell in.

She clapped her hand over her mouth, trying desperately not to laugh at his misfortune, but still shook without meaning to. Regardless of her finding that absolutely hilarious, she composed herself enough to come over to him to see if he needed any help. She wasn't able to say anything to him though, because she was still holding back laughter.

Seeing the other girl holding back laughter, Reed couldn't help but laugh himself. He wiped some snow off his cheek, and stood back up, wincing at the pain in his back. Of course, this didn't stop his laughing. "I'm s-so soryyyy" He said between bouts of laughter.

"I may have tried to do a bit much." He admitted, not letting his smile fade. "C'mon, help me make another." He said, smashing together as much of the broken snow as he could before he started rolling again.

After a bit more rolling, Reed was feeling way too sore to continue so he turned to Krez, and sighed. "Sorry, but I gotta sit for a second." he then moved to a nearby tree and sat down, careful not to put all his weight against the cuts on his back. After a second, Reed decided to try and start small talk. It was pretty obvious at this point that krez wasn't much of a talker, but he wanted to try regardless.

"So, uhm...I haven't heard your accent before. where are you from?" He asked, genuinely curious. He hadn't left his home in London, and was never social on top of the fact that his family could never afford cable, or any kind of media like that, so he still didn't know where each accent originated from.

It wasn't entirely his fault that he bit off more than he could chew. Well, it was mostly his fault, but it's not like he needed to feel bad about getting excited. Either way, she willingly did her best to help him get the snowball back together, sure to help him roll on the side that he was trying to keep weight off of.

Once he went to sit down, she gathered their snowball and the snowball she had made earlier and rolled them close to the tree for them, so she could keep an eye on them in case they rolled away or got smashed by some other reckless child. Wouldn't want him to strain himself any further trying to make a third snowman base.
She came and sat next to Reed, then went digging in her coat for something as he asked his question. She glanced at him with an eyebrow raised, not sure how someone in Europe could not pinpoint her accent. Of course, it wasn't just him, a lot of kids asked this question surprisingly. Not that she minded at least, it wasn't their fault they hadn't met any germans. After a second she seemed to have found what she wanted and unbuttoned a couple buttons on her coat to make a larger opening.
"Germany." She replied softly, pulling her school robe from her coat to offer it to Reed, still folded neatly as if she had never put it on.
