Undeterred from the first round's misses, spells continued flying - with mostly the same result. It seemed that all of the duellists had chosen to switch to attack spells, for there were numerous flashes of the tell-tale blue light of Knockback jinxes arcing through the area - although only one managed to make contact.

@Ruka Burnett-Tân's spell was crackling with power, yet entirely misdirected: Instead of targeting @Lea Hirsch, it curved towards @Frost Cira, who managed to step out of the way without even a second glance. Another spell was aimed towards the lone first year in this duel, but @Zykeal Lane's spell too was avoided without much trouble.

Lea was the only one who had managed to land a hit in the first exchange of spells, but this time she too seemed to be affected by the general aimlessness of the group, and Ruka managed to dodge her Dancing-Feet Spell at the last possible moment. This distraction cost him, however: Frost's powerful Knockback Jinx caught him in the shoulder and would have him stumbling a step back.

This duel takes place in the morning slot.

Maybe it was the fact that his attention was taken up by constant glances towards the audience in search of a specific familiar face he hoped was watching, but something clearly impaired Ruka’s concentration enough for his spells to keep critically missing their target Thanks for the reminder, Dee. The jinx he had wanted to aim at the Hufflepuff first year curved to his other opponent’s direction instead, could have still been a successful hit, but was sidestepped easily.
In fact, it seemed like they were going to go through another round without damage done and he beamed brightly as he dodged a spell cast his way, but his excitement came too soon because just as he was going to straighten up again something hit his shoulder and caused him to stumble backwards, leaving him with a strong ache in the right side of his upper body.

Eyes wide, Ruka glanced at the attacking Hufflepuff in surprise before letting out a burst of laughter, one hand rubbing at his pained shoulder. “Good shot,” he told the girl genuinely as he resumed his position, switching his wand to his left hand so he wouldn’t need to strain his shoulder too much. With a look at Zykeal, Ruka let a smile settle on his face. “They say third time’s the charm, right?”

This was actually turning into the most annoying event he'd ever taken place in; how boring. A quick eye-roll and as the green sparks finally faded from his vision and he looked over towards the boy on his team who seemed to be enjoying getting hit with a spell. Unfortunately, his aim was no better, as their opponents literally were twigs with no muscle. Zyk could see the advantages as they literally looked like the sticks, even their arms weren't the size of the logs he'd use to carve faux-wands down by the lakeside.

"It's like trying to hit a string... how can they even lift a wand," he honestly wondered.

Ruka spoke up, looking as if he was actually enjoying this nonsense. Zykeal just shook his head and flicked his wand once more towards their opponents without saying a word to his 'teammate'. Soon enough this would probably be a two vs. one and with the way this was going, he wasn't going to be on the side with the good odds. Once again though, he'd flick his wand out towards his opponents and do his best to pinpoint the exact spot of the elusive sticks dressed in badger clothing.

It was nice to know that her previous spell had actually done something, easily moving out of the way of the Gryffindor's spell. Frost was also able to easily dodge out of the way, as well, which made the young girl happy. Neither of them hurt yet.

A little bit of frustration would find itself in the mix, though, nervousness making everything else seem both brightened and dulled at the same time. Her spell, successfully cast, had almost hit her target. It would've, but he managed to dodge out of the way before it could. Perhaps that was for the best as the next spell knocked into the older Gryffindor. Better one spell miss than two.

"Nice hit," she'd note softly to her teammate. Brown eyes would offer a quick glance, feeling a wave of calm come over her. It was only a quick moment, though, before her attention turned back to the others, wand ready.

Using an attacking spell didn't make her feel particularly nice, it pained her somewhere in her gut to even use them, though it was necessary. It seemed as though she and Lea's small frames were beneficial in a duel. The two Hufflepuffs were oddly good at dodging spells, not that she was complaining. Frost reassured Lea that she would get another hit again, and internally thanked her for putting Ruka into Frost's line of fire.

At his and Lea's comment on her aim, she smiled awkwardly. Frost gently shook her head, "Thank you, but also sorry! You seem really nice." She hoped that it didn't hurt him too badly, rasing her wand once again.

It almost seemed like a repeat from the first round, although with slightly different spells. All charms, jinxes and curses succeeded, although @Ruka Burnett-Tân seemed to be struggling for a second and was only saved by his exceptional control over his wand and magic.

And yet, again, only one spell found its mark. Both of the Gryffindors had decided again to go for the lone first year on the field, the -supposed- weak link. However, although @Zykeal Lane's spell came a lot closer than before, @Lea Hirsch again managed to dodge both Knockback Jinxes without a scratch. She was a remarkable nimble first year, without a doubt.

On the other side, @Frost Cira's Tongue-Tying Spell which had been meant for Ruka went just as wide as Ruka's spell: The Gryffindor deftly dodged, and some poor chap in the audience might have had to do the same if not for the protective enchantments around the stage.

And again, against all (perceived) odds, Lea fared the best among them. Impressively accurate - or maybe Zykeal was just about as hard to hit as a wall - her green sparks sprayed into Zykeal's face. He'd likely be seeing stars for a few seconds after this.

Any member of the audience, at this point, might settle in and have patience, for this seemed to turn into a rather long duel.

"Flipendo," he had said, calmly, clearly focused upon his spellcasting and wanting to finally actually gain a hit upon their targets. A powerful blast was produced from the tip of his ivory-colored wand, his concentration wasn't lacking, Zykeals' intent was clear. The nimble first-year seemed to be able to do backflips, matrix-style moves, and clearly had the Gods (Dee) on her side. An annoyed eye-roll crossed his expression then and he turned to look over at Ruka who traded a pair of missed spells with the other duelist, "This is actually boring, seriously," he mentioned.

That was when the stupid green sparks flew into his face again and he spluttered, "Seriously shrimp, seriously?!" he yelled out towards the first-year Hufflepuff. Barely being able to see, he had to register where her annoying spell had come from and he flicked his wand in a direction towards something, a shadow maybe? Zykeal just knew it wasn't at Ruka, yet. This stupid contest clearly wasn't worth continuing if nothing changed any time soon. Ever try catching a fly? Yup. That's how annoying this was, but, there were two flies bothering him.

It felt as though they were going in a loop- not really going anywhere at all. Two spells came towards her, their aim seeming to get closer as they continued. And yet, Lea still managed to dodge both, squeaking a bit at how close one had come. Her attention was quick to move back to the actual spell casting, flinging the green sparks charm towards the younger gryffindor once more.

If the hufflepuff couldn't previously tell, the yelling certainly gave her a clue. A successful spell, a successful hit. But with how few spells seemed to be finding their marks, the girl wondered how long their duel could be- had anyone ever timed a duel to find out? Maybe they could make a new record for how long a duel lasted, assuming anyone did ever keep track. It didn't matter, though, not now at least. Hopefully she could help Frost out a little more, the true duellist on their team. For now, Lea was very much a novice attempting to figure out the best way to do duelling.

To be quite frank, she felt as though this was a repeat of the first round of the duel. Frost and Lea had even cast the same spells, having the same results. In the few moments after each sides of the stage were done flinging spells about, Frost mulled over different ideas in her mind. Come on, there had to be something she could do to maximize the small amount of spells Lea had known.

Zykeal's outburst at Lea once again casting the green sparks charm at him, caused her to want to do better. She felt bad for him, honestly. He was becoming the butt of most of Lea's spells. But hey, at least the younger Hufflepuff was successful at casting. Maybe one day they'll both hit their marks in the same round.

For now, she could only hope they wouldn't keep looping like this. After a quick glance at Lea, Frost once again raised her wand.

Ruka had prepared himself for his next spell, adrenaline still high from having been hit the round before, and his eyes scanned the audience for a moment, drifting across a couple of familiar faces though not the one he was looking for. Mumbling something under his breath, Ruka shook his head to himself.

Where are you?, he thought with a hint of urgency before refocusing his attention on his wand again. Just as he muttered the incantation for the Knockback Jinx, however, he heard a familiar voice calling from the audience and it made his head snap in its direction with a wide grin stretching his lips. He hadn't expected to see Aphrodite, but her presence and the blunt words of what was most likely meant to be encouragement made him smile nonetheless.

A shame only, that she had taken his concentration off the spell he was casting, causing his eyes to widen for a moment as he focused on his wand again, managing to execute the spell successfully only just. Not that it mattered, however; The first year they were casting at was quick as a weasel and seemed to be dodging absolutely everything they were trying to throw at her. At least in this round Ruka managed to dodge the spell aimed at him as well, a little yelp of relief escaping him as he twirled on the spot before finding secure footing again.

His teammate, on the other hand, had not been so lucky. Once again the first year Hufflepuff had managed to blind Zykeal with a shower of sparks and Ruka looked over at him with his head tilted to the side. "Should've probably brought some glasses," he remarked with a sympathetic shrug he doubted his fellow Gryffindor was even able to see with his face full of sparks.

Shifting his attention back to Aphrodite in the stands with a small nod and a smile for just a little moment more, Ruka readied his wand again, prepared for his next move.
