(1011/1000 words)This story takes place in a fantasy Kingdom named Crealan Kingdom, a kingdom which was quite well known for its tranquility and peace. In order to enter the kingdom, there’s only four gates that can be used - only four gates that connect the outside world to the Kingdom - South gate and West gate which primarily used by the citizens and tourists, the East gate which were strictly for the knights for their expedition, and the North Gate, a special and hidden gate for the royals, rarely used except for an emergency and only a number of people knows where the gate was placed.
Crealan Castle

This is where the King and Queen along with their family resides . Five slim, round towers form an almost perfectly squared barrier around this marvelous castle and are connected by strengthened, chunky walls made of light brown stone. The entrance of the castle, a huge gate with heavy metal doors and archer holes, offer a safe haven with a maximum security for the royals, with double arched windows scattering on the walls of the castle in seemingly perfect symmetry and there’s a number of arrowslits placed in a number of places, a little hidden from other’s sight. Outside the castle, were field of nothingness except for well trimmed grass that strech out to the gates. Anyone who managed to passed the gate could be seen miles away. The castle were opened for public five times a year, which were only during special occasions.
Marketplace

Within the kingdom, there’s an array of buildings placed in symmetrical fashion - a huge marketplace consisted of different shops, ranging from grocery stalls, work store, flower shop, tailor shop, food stalls, bakery and others. For high class citizens, they usually visited the Nobles District; which were filled with renowned shops and restaurants, a counterpart to the marketplace that offers high quality goods ranging from furniture, books, foods, and antique products. The marketplace was the most populated location in Crealan Kingdom, for citizens and tourists alike. Most items an be found in the markets. Near the exit of the market, is Mond Trader. They exchange anything you have to money; they accept fish, crops, To the South of the marketplace, was a long river, which was connected to the waterfall. Swimming inside is prohibited as to not taint the beauty of it. There’s a lot of different fish that can be found there and fishing is allowed. During morning, the Waterfall area were often used as a top fishing spot. A path besides the Mond Trade will lead to a district which filled with facilities such as clinic, post office, Obelisk Bank and others.
Academy

Crealan Crystal Academy is known for producing lots of talents, ranging from historians, scholars, entrepreneur, and others. It was designed by Robbie Burns almost a hundred years ago, under the command of King Carmen, who was known for his exceptional merits in making the Kingdom to its flourishing and prosperous state for hundred of centuries. It is a magnificent white building akin to a small castle with tall, wide windows scattered generously around the walls. Well kept gardens with variety of flowers, trees and bushes decorating the outside of the Academy, which makes it a favourite spot among the female students. A handful of benches were placed at the grounds of the Academy, for the students convenience. All citizens must enter this academy as the kingdom valued knowledge; as for those who from the lower class and did not have any money, the royal family has set up a fund for them. It took 6 years for a person to complete their mandatory education, and for those who wanted to continue need another 5 years to complete their middle education, and those who wished to become scholars need another 3 years to finish their education. Crealan Crystal Academy can be divided into three parts, Petite Quartz, Middle Azurite and Crystallites Academy. As a prove of their status, they each have their own uniforms; red represents Petite Quartz, blue represents Middle Azurites, and white represents Crystallites, and were given a badge as a prove of their identity. Only the Petite Quartz is mandatory, while the other two are optional. Those who actually managed to enter this academy were considered as young talents.
Library

There are only one library in the Kingdom, called the Equinox Athenaeum . It was located next to Crealan Crystal Academy; it’s very convenient considering the fact that the two buildings are within a walking distance. The library contained books that provides information of the Kingdom as well as various of subjects. The library have a total of seven floors, each floor were armed with different subjects. However, not everyone can go to all seven floors; normal citizen and Petite Quartz can only passed through two floors, Middle Azurite can reach to the forth floors, while Crealan Crystallites can passed through all the floors.
House

The main character’s house, a large manor located in the Sapphire District, a district where the high class citizen resides. It has a big backyard, which was not trimmed well when the main character first move in, that turned into a garden which were filled with flowers, fruit trees and vegetables which were arranged in a symmetrical fashion. The house is equipped with an old-fashioned kitchen, twelve bathrooms, thirteen bedrooms and a large living room, among other things. The living room was designed to be stylish yet has a classic side to it. There are a few shelves placed in the right corner of the living room, an area akin to a small library; each filled with books, and a fireplace on the other part of the room. Two single round sofa were placed near the shelves, and between them is a small coffee table. For the area that was used to welcome guests; there were three modern leathered couch surrounded a rectangular black table. White walls decorated the living room, as well as an array of family portraits.

Sofia Cunningham, the only daughter of Albert Cunningham and Diana Cunningham, and the granddaughter of Mia Cunningham, is a student of Crealan Crystal Academy. When she was six years old, she attended Petite Quartz but skipped Middle Azurites when their family move to a new country because of her father’s business ventures. She attended a school there that is equivalent to Middle Azurites and when she was 17 years old, she moved back with her grandmother to Crealan Kingdom, and proceed to continue her education as Crystallites.

She has light skin, long, wavy black hair that reach her back, which she often match it up with a headband, or in some occasions, tied it up into a ponytail. Sofia has a striking resemblance to her mother. She has a pair of light brown eyes. She is rather tall and has a slim figure. Her fashion is mostly modest and elegant, as usual attire consists of a long-sleeved blouse and a long skirt. The only jewellery she ever wore was the one given to her by her mother, the earrings she received when she was 15 years old and a ring, an elegant silver sterling ring with simple designs and a small blazing red topaz. During her time in the academy, she would wear a standard Crystallites school uniforms; white long-sleeved blouse paired up with a red vest and a badge which signifies her status as Crealan Crystallites student. She was considered to be rather attractive, as people often commented that she looked like a doll.

During her time at Petite Quartz, considering the fact that she has been spoiled when she was little, Sofia was a narcissistic girl with a hint of arrogance. Sofia feels that she was above others in terms of wealth and position. She often gets what she wants, which caused her to be angry if anyone deny her requests. However, she is straightforward in terms of what she likes and dislikes, and was shown to be more open with those who were close to her, such as family and her two friends. While she was noted for her brilliance, her short tempered attitude caused her to have few friends; with the exception of Celeste Black and Iris Robinson. Her reputation during her time at Petite Quartz caused others to fear her when they heard she would return to continue her studies as Crealan Crystallites, which pleased her greatly as she prefers to be left alone at that stage. Unlike her little self who wants to be the center of attention, the older Sofia hate it when she was put in the spotlight. However, she did have a vindictive side after her mother's death; as she told her father that she hoped he would suffer for cheating on her mother and she'll pray that he'll be haunted by his wife in his nightmare until he die.
As times went on, and she return to Crealan Kingdom with her grandmother, she become more subsided, more level-headed, more indifferent, more composed, more mature and rarely act on her temper, which shocked others who knew her since she was little. However, she become more cunning and still has the hint of arrogance, though she hid it better than before. She was polite to strangers and her peers, and become more soft spoken, but a slight hint of provocation will cause her to shows her scary side. Only with Celeste and Iris did she shows a more true, sincere side of her; playful, witty and considerate. She loves shopping, a hobby she shared with her friends, and would often seen at Nobles District during weekends. While Sofia has perfected her social skills, she was wary of little children and would rather avoid them, as she didn’t have any young children in her family.

Being the only child of the family, Sofia was pretty spoiled and were given whatever she wants. They rarely discipline her which caused her to develop a more unlawful behaviour during her time at Petite Quartz. Her father, Albert Cunningham, would often lavish her with gifts from his business associates, and would give in to her demands. However, their relationship worsen as father and daughter when her father cheated on her mother with a woman only a few years older than her, which leads to her hospitalised mother’s death. When Albert wanted to remarry his mistress, Sofia refuse to live with them and join her grandmother who decided to return to Crealen Kingdom. She believed that accepting their marriage was similar to betraying her mother. Diana Cunningham loved her daughter greatly, and would go out her way to make Sofia happy. When they move to another Kingdom because of her husband business, Diana would mostly stay at home and accompany her daughter, and consoled her during her trouble at the new school. However, she become sick when she found out about her husband’s affair, and die a few years later, leaving her daughter alone. In her dying breath, she told her daughter to be happy and find herself, and to not believe in love’. Her death cause a change in her daughter’s personality, who become more mature. Her Grandmother, was strict in her teachings, and is the one who scolds her when Sofia did wrong things. However, she accepted Sofia’s offer to accompany her to Crealen Kingdom, and their relationship become closer during their times together.

Celeste Black
Initially, they became friends with each other because of their similar social standings and because their parents were close. They along with Iris Robinson were feared during their time at Petite Quartz, because of Celeste's sharp mouth and no regards to those who offend her along with Sofia's own short tempered attitude. They maintained that facade until they were 8 years old, when Celeste have her own problems at home because of her cousin, and Sofia dragged Iris to Celeste's home as supporters, under the guise of playing together. They managed to scared off Serena's cousin at that time and got closer to each other. When Sofia was moving to another country because of her father's business, Celeste actually cried and being teased in return, but promise to write to each other. When Sofia returned, she was happy and noticed the difference in her friend's attitude when Iris pointed it out, yet did not approached her as Iris as told her not to. She just waited for her friend to confess her problems, but until that time, she just dragged Sofia for a tour of their Kingdom.
Iris Robinson
Initially, they became friends with each other because of their similar social standings and because their parents were close. They along with Celeste Black were feared during their time at Petite Quartz, though Iris was only feared because of her friendship with Celeste and Sofia. Unlike the complicated friendship between Sofia and Celeste who were wary of each other at first, Iris was the first one to open her heart to her friends, during their first meeting. She is kind and considerate, as well as being the voice of reason in their trio. She also cried when she heard Sofia was moving but they promise to write to each other. Iris in fact was the first one noticed Sofia's change in attitude as she is very perceptive; and prevent Celeste from bothering their friend until Sofia herself open her mouth. When someone insulted Sofia, Iris dropped her usual smile and did not hesitate to punch the offender. Sofia accept Iris's sincerity as her friend and offered her her friendship and loyalty in return.

Main Plot

Sofia's perfect life shatters in just a few years. She, who has a perfect family, with wealth and status, who was the subject of envy, could only fell into despair as she was being struck one by one, starting with her mother's death, her father's shady affair and the appearance of her father's shameless mistress, she decided to return to the place she was born, Crealen Kingdom alongside her grandmother, with the desire to never see her father again. Leaving the house that she lived in for almost 6 years, the one where she spends most of her youth, she packed her bags and go, leaving the memories of her ruined family behind her. No one had known the reason the grandmother granddaughter duo left, with the exceptions of her father and his mistress. Her return was not known at first, but when the rumors had reached the ears of the Crystallites, it earned her variety of responses, from gleeful welcome by her friends, scorn by her enemies, and fear by the rest of the students that knew her when she was in Petite Quartz.
Sofia Cunningham, the infamous daughter of Albert Cunningham, who had terrorized the school and become the living nightmare for its students, will return but with a new personality; more cold, more mature, and more empty. She return only with the intention of leaving her father who decided to marry his mistress, after only three months after his wife's death. Diana Cunningham, the lovely woman who had both beauty and brain, who was sought out by numerous suitors, who love her daughter dearly, who supports her husband, who sacrifices her youth and ambition in order to be with her family, met her end because of the choice that she made; the husband that she’s in love with for 30 years, have betrayed her with a woman only a few years older than his own daughter. It was the ultimate betrayal, that caused her mother to suffer moments before her death. Sofia who sees it as a form of betrayal towards her loving mother, cut her relationship with her father and request him to not see her again. Even when her father begs her to forgive him, he only got cold stares in return. His decision was the cause of his family’s ruin, that even his mother, Mia Cunningham who always support him has decided to return to her home in order to escape from this situation, as she knew that the family would never recover from this action. She offered her granddaughter to join her in her return so that she can forget all the painful memories.
During her lowest moments, Sofia felt lost, her life is without any objective, and she felt empty. She just want to leave her father, yet she didn’t actually have anything to hold her; no objectives, no ambition, nothing. It was her grandmother who asked her to find a new meaning in life, so that she wouldn’t throw away her youth just like that, so that she could show her father that she can be happy without him, so that she can show his father’s mistress that she won’t break, that a striking resemblance to her lover’s wife was still there, still alive, still breathing. However, she did not expect that a new path was opened, that leads her to the happy and blissful life that she dreamed after her mother's death. Learning about life, love, friendship, she slowly opens her heart again to accept those happiness as part of her life.
They return to their former's manor, that have been kept clean by the maids of Black and Robinson's family, and live there for the rest of their life. However, there was a slight change in their lifestyle. Mia Cunningham, who was raised in a lavish lifestyle, refuse to hire any servants in the manor. She prefers peace and quiet, without anyone else other than herself and her granddaughter. While Sofia is still quite rich, as she inherited her mothers fortune, and her grandmother took care of her fortune on her fathers side, she can't hired a maid as to respect her grandmother's wish and started doing her work own her own. From cooking, cleaning, taking care of plants, buying groceries, she learn to do all that alone, though she did failed at first as she never have any experience in doing house chores. She did dragged her friends who found out accidentally and share similar lifestyle to her, who never actually do their own chores, to accompany her which leads to a lot of awkward situations, such as their failure to discern the type of fish in the market, not knowing what vegetables to buy, disastrous first time cooking experiences, and others. After one month of adjusting to her new life, Crealen Crystallites have started a new term.
Her return to the academy is a huge news, for those who knew her from their time at Petite Quartz wore different expressions; some were amused, some were terrified, some were indifferent, and others were simply looking for a fight, in order to overthrow her status as the Queen of Petite Quartz. Her previous wish to remain unnoticed have failed, as she found herself becoming the center of attention, only after a few days as Crealen Crystallites. Her new attitude however did shocked the students, as she was well known for her short tempered attitude and her arrogance. Sofia only ignored them and focus on her studies that she was viewed as weak, and were taken lightly until it escalated to an open argument, but later prove herself to be more dangerous and not someone that can be messed with. The one that tried to unsurp her failed, and in the end they were the one getting jeered at.
However, when there's doubt being thrown around regarding her mother's death, her father's return with his new wife, her maternal family appearance, and mysterious letters being delivered to her house that claimed to know the true cause of her mother's death, Sofia could only visit her painful memories that she left and started investigating the death of Diana Cunninghum on her own, and face them, by starting with the place where her mother had collapsed, her former house and its inhabitants.

Two Subplots

Sublot 1: Iris Story

Iris Robinson is what you would called a perfect lady. She is pretty, soft-spoken, kind, and always had a smile on her face. She has plenty of admirers, and receive plenty of confessions, but accept none. It makes people wonder, who truly own her heart, or was she just decided on going solo just like her friends, who would only snarl or give a cold stare in order to ignore any attempts of courting. The questions has been thrown around frequently, but no one had the answers. So people make a bet on who can get the perfect princess’s heart; most boys around their age with similar social standings all tries to court but received a polite but firm rejection in return. No one dares to ask Sofia Cunninghum and Celeste Black the questions as they value their life, though a few brave ones seem to have enough guts to confess to the lovely princess in front of the scary witches that she called friends. Absolutely no one, but the two ladies actually know the fact that the perfect princess, Iris Robinson’s heart has already been stolen long ago.
So why none of them knew?
The reason is the social standings of the one who stole the princess’s heart without him knowing was far away for her to reach, yet she still held her feelings, hoping that some day it would come true. Until that, she and her two friends could only stage accidental encounter and allow the unsuspected boy to spend times with them, under the guise of learning the normal way of life. They went fishing, gathering, and planting corps together, that caused the quartets to received some amused glances and shocked stares in return. A few bystanders knew the true reason of this group, but none have the certainty to point out which of the trio actually have a crush on the boy. No one dare to confirm it, that in the end they just concludes it as a normal friendship. The trio continues to encounter the boy by chance and hang out with him.
The boy, who stole the Princess’s heart, is not rich, but he’s also far from poor. He's far from being a Prince Charming that everyone paired the princess with, but he is a perfect partner for the lovely princess, that she won't choose anyone else in this lifetime. The boy lives in a comfortable middle class life, and own a righteous heart, without bias, and lives his life in sincerity and honesty, a quality that Iris appreciates. He’s the one who taught the trio how to fish, how to plant, how to choose fresh fishes, and of course, how to cook. However he is ‘straight to the point’ kind of person, did not bother to flatter anyone, and speaks his heart. In the end, though they merely interact with him for Iris’s sake, Sofia and Celeste gradually accept the boy into their circle, a feat which surprise everyone as they are quite a closed off group. It took years before Iris finally confess to the boy, which leaves the boy totally flabbergasted, and it’s as if he forgot how to talk. The story was too amusing that Celeste and Sofia who eavesdropped on the two friends couldn’t help but laughing. And that tale remain as a material for future teasing within the group.

Subplot 2 - The One Who Tries To Unsurp Her Throne

Sofia's time in Petite Quartz can be called chaotic. Her reign of terror lasted for six years and ended when she moved to another country. So during that time, there were few people who tries to uphold the same reputation, a wannabe queen was the suitable term. Why? Because not everyone were afraid of them, some even openly scoffed at their attempt to follow Sofia's footsteps. Even Sofia's best friends, Celeste Black and Iris Robinson looked down on the group when they started to bother the two to show their power.
"Talk to me when you're done with your rubbish attempt. Such amateurs." Celeste exact words to them.
"Oh, I'm sorry, do I know you?" That is Iris's simple reply.
In the end it caused them to be a subject of ridicule, that caused them to be seething with fury. As the two were higher in social standings, they did not make any attempt that could involve their family, but they did started making rumors about the departed Queen. After a few days, they each received a red handprint in the face and another rumor of them started to spread. None of the students knew the perpetrator that caused the group to be silent for few months, none knew except for the members of the group and two ladies who each have a grin on their faces. The Middle Azurites life seemed rather peaceful compared to Petite Quartz.
While a few members of the group only stopped at Middle Azurite, most still continue as Crystallites. So when the infamous Sofia Cunninghum returns, they wanted revenge. They decided to openly face the now silent reigning Queen and pick a fight, only to be told off easily.
"Scared? Don't make me laugh. Seeing as I'm more mature, I decided to be patient with anyone's stupidity as you can't seem to manage them properly", Sofia told them dryly.
It caused the spectators to gives the group an amused glances, a few laugh at their stupidity, some only shook their heads, and a few girls were whispering ton each other. The one who didn't know Sofia Cunninghum could only gasp in amazement, as the girl herself wave her hand as an act of dismissal towards the group that constantly bullied them, and continue sipping her tea. Iris Robinson and Celeste Black also seemed to ignore the stares that they received from the rest of the Cafeteria, and doing their own things.
But they didn't exactly stop at that. They started by feeding others with rumors, forgetting momentarily what the consequences of doing so and in the end, they finally subdued. Only few spectators know what had happened, but everyone knew who the perpetrators are, as Celeste Black seem to gleefully greet them and make a few snide comments everytime the two group walk passed each other.

While a few members of the group only stopped at Middle Azurite, most still continue as Crystallites. So when the infamous Sofia Cunninghum returns, they wanted revenge. They decided to openly face the now silent reigning Queen and pick a fight, only to be told off easily.
"Scared? Don't make me laugh. Seeing as I'm more mature, I decided to be patient with anyone's stupidity as you can't seem to manage them properly", Sofia told them dryly.
It caused the spectators to gives the group an amused glances, a few laugh at their stupidity, some only shook their heads, and a few girls were whispering ton each other. The one who didn't know Sofia Cunninghum could only gasp in amazement, as the girl herself wave her hand as an act of dismissal towards the group that constantly bullied them, and continue sipping her tea. Iris Robinson and Celeste Black also seemed to ignore the stares that they received from the rest of the Cafeteria, and doing their own things.
But they didn't exactly stop at that. They started by feeding others with rumors, forgetting momentarily what the consequences of doing so and in the end, they finally subdued. Only few spectators know what had happened, but everyone knew who the perpetrators are, as Celeste Black seem to gleefully greet them and make a few snide comments everytime the two group walk passed each other.

She has dark brown eyes and grey hair, which were twisted up into a bun, with a silver hair pin with decorated with ruby stones, with a red small butterfly dangling off the side. Despite her disregard in others, Mia Cunninghum showed soft side towards her family. As a mother, she was lenient towards her son since he was young, kind towards her daughter in law.
