Quinn was truly thankful for their attempts at cheering him up and it was really working. Looks like he did find and make some new friends.

"A-and puzzle solving is really...really cool as well- I-I've heard that the...Ravenclaw common room can only b-be unlocked with solving a puzzle...m-maybe you can sneak inside?" He heard the boy suggest in a joking manner. As soon as Vincent said that Quinn's eyes lit up with possibilities. True it was against school rules to sneak into another houses common room, however the thought of doing it was admittedly a bit tantalizing. Mainly for the prospect of seeing his parents old common room and solving a puzzle along with the fact that he would know he did it.

"Oh of course I know you're joking, but thank you both , I do feel a bit better." Quinn genuinely began to smile and sat back to listen in on their conversation. Finally Quinn started to munch on a bit of his own food he had gotten earlier. Once the topic of classes came up Quinn couldn't help but say his piece after they finished of course. He didn't want to be rude afterall.

"Well hey even if we all don't have any classes together that doesn't mean we can't help each other out. Besides from what I hear and what I've read charms will be an interesting class. I think I have History of Magic first so that will definitely be an entertaining class." He began to say an obvious spark lit in his eyes.

"I mean if you think about it we will be learning things from all those classes. And I know the knowledge from them will be fascinating, because there is still so much that we do not know about the nature of magic itself."

To fear the unknown is to fear progress, don't shy away from it. Embrace it and discover something new.

Verla walked in, hardly prepared to see anyone else in here. Normally she had come in here to be on her own, and when a few eyes looked her direction, she became prepared to bust out of the door. Though she gathered up what wit she had left (which wasn't much) and picked a seat. She refused to look at anyone or do anything, she was shaking like a leaf, and was as frozen as a stick. This was what most of her breakdowns looked like, she would tense up and say nothing.

"Verla, you're looking silly" She said to herself, or more the social side of her.
Verla looked around again and saw all eyes on her now. She cleared her throat and opened her mouth to say hi, but nothing came out. All that came out was her mouthing the word hi and a split second of a high pitch squeal. Now she was ready to leave.
What to do? What to say? She had made a rule to herself that just because she couldn't speak, did not mean she could just run out of the room. Instead she got an idea, took out a piece of paper, and wrote down "HI" in big bold letter.

Lucy strolled in, looking for an open chair. At the moment, her stomach dictated her actions, so she didn't particularly care who she sat by as long as she could get something to eat. She saw her spot, and plopped down next to a quiet brown haired girl. She immediately began loading her plate with lots of food to eat, her stomach growling with impatience. Hush, you, she chided her own stomach with a small smile, I'm literally about to eat food for you.

Mistaking Verela's paper as a napkin, she grabbed it and draped it over her lap. She had already picked up her fork and tucked into her food when her brain sent an alarm bell to the front of her consciousness. Something was weird about what just happened... oh. The napkin. It hadn't felt very.... napkin-y. She glanced down, and her eyebrows furrowed in puzzlement and the large 'HI' staring up at her face. She looked back at the table and saw her napkin sitting neatly to the side of her plate, ready and waiting to be draped over her lap.

Where did you come from? Lucy wondered, chewing her food slowly. She attempted to recall how she sat down at the table, but all she could think of was her gurgling stomach. That wouldn't help. She looked to her right - a boy whose name she didn't know was looking away from her, talking about classes and magic and whatnot. That didn't seem likely. She glanced to her left and raked her eyes over the brown haired girl. She looked a bit timid, and she wasn't talking to anyone. This seemed like the likely source. Actually, now that Lucy thought about it, she did grab the paper from her left.

"Oh, uhmm," Lucy coughed, her mouth still half-full of food, "Sorry 'bout that. Here you go." She grabbed the paper and handed it back to Verla, accidentally smearing some red sauce on the corner. "Oops." She grabbed her napkin, attempting to blot it off the paper, but ended up smearing it around further. "Blast," she cursed under breath, spewing a bit of food in the process. She swallowed hastily and grinned at the girl. "My bad. Really. I can replace the parchment, but all my supplies are in my trunk. Hey, are you new? I haven't seen you before."

Sarafina realized she had zoned out again and missed half of the conversation that was going on. She blinked, looking and realizing two more girls had sat down. She recognized one of them from earlier. She was sure her name was Verla. Verla had written 'HI' on a piece of paper to introduce herself. A girl beside her accidentally took it, mistaking it for a napkin. She realized that and handed it back apologizing. Sarafina decided to introduce herself. One more friend couldn't hurt. She made eye contact with the girl, so that she knew she was talking to her.
"Hi! I'm Sarafina," she said. "I go by Fina for short. Welcome to Hufflepuff I guess. Who are you?" She hoped she didn't sound too peppy or intrusive. That was how she greeted everyone that just came to Hufflepuff. She was forcing herself to be social, so she guessed she was going to be talking a lot more during the continuing day. Great. Conversation. Just what she wanted. But she had agreed to herself to talk to someone and it had worked out fine so far. Everyone she met had been nice and friendly. She hoped this girl would be nice too.

When fina began talking to the girl who had just walked in,skyla turned her head to listen ,yes it was nosy, but she was curious ,as this new girl had startled her when she first came in,with the hi on the paper and everyone turning drama, she gave a small smile to her before looking away, not wanting to talk again, she knew sign language but decided to talk to the people who had welcomed her instead of signing,in case they didn't understand it of course ,it would be abit awkward otherwise ,she decided to look back at the others to see what they would do,she was considered an outsider in her old school, and didn't really do much,or interact so she was struggling when this happened,of course .she tried to keep her anxiety down as to not draw attention after that ,so she didn't speak or say anything after or when it happened ,she was easily startled and scared after all.so she decided to wait and see what would happen next,
Seems to be like this, lots of stuff happening at once.should of guessed..she thought, frowning at this, she was happy to meet new friends and learn about magic of course, but she was also afraid of everything inside of what could happen.

Verla blinked, and gently took her piece of paper back, then wrote on it Yes I'm new, and you don't have to, I have a whole notebook full of paper just for my conversations, plus, it avoids gossip. She handed the paper back to her and looked at Fina, since she had already met her, she smiled at her kindly. Then she saw another person sitting, she looked peculiar. She handed her HI paper over to her and smiled. Hoping that she wouldn't come off as a fool, she looked around and saw the slytherin table looking at her funny and laughing. She assumed they were talking about her.

Her bowtruckle came out of the pouch and frowned at them, they awed at how cute he was. Annoyed, Verla turned and face them "it is wise not to piss off a bowtruckle, you'll never know what you will find in your bed the next morning." she said and turned back, then she had one of her nervous breakdowns again. Solid as a stick. Verla you bloody moron! she cursed at herself. Now they know now at least that she can speak, and how she chose to write it down because of her terrible anxiety.

"A-are you okay?" Skyla asked "Verla" ,she appeared to be having a breakdown ,or so skyla thought, she could tell if someone was having or about to have one, having so many due to depression and anxiety herself, she looked at the slytherin table, and gave a glare, warning them silently .
Bloody idiots...she thought to herself ,she hated people who would talk about people behind their back,as she had been the victim to it many times,
And didn't want anyone else to be,despite the fact she seemed to be able to deal with that herself with that threat ,but skyla didn't care ,she hated idiots or any people of the sort ,due to what they had done to her .she shook her head and snapped out of it,looking back at the friends she made ,she decided to not bother with them any more and let it go,they probably wouldn't do it again anyway,so no point in going on in it anyway, like her brain likes to do just as she was trying to sleep .it was sorted out,so she didn't mind anymore, despite the fact she may hate most slytherins who appeared in her classes, knowing they weren't all like that, hopefully anyway, she didn't know much about the tables .

Lucy rose her eyebrows at the next message. That's weird, she though in surprise. She personally didn't know anyone who didn't talk, so this was foreign territory for her. Lucy didn't often get uncomfortable, but she felt a rare pang of awkwardness talking to someone who... couldn't? wouldn't? respond back to her. She tried desperately to think of something to say. She didn't want to be rude, but she also didn't do well in foreign territory. "Oh. Well. Okay. Sorry again," she mumbled, uncharacteristically short-winded.

Miraculously, the situation sorted itself out as Lucy shovelled another bite of food into her mouth. During that time, the quiet and possibly mute girl next to her had shifted her attention to another girl at the table, and, bless the lucky stars, someone else started talking to her. Lucy choked slightly in her eagerness to respond.

"Hi!" she gushed, a bit too enthusiastic to cover up the uncomfortable sensation in her chest. "Wow, that's such a cool name! Nice nickname, too. I can't make a good nickname out of my name. I'm Lucy, but I don't go by anything for short. I guess you could call me Lu, but that sounds like a boy's name. I don't really mind that, but no one really calls me Lu, so it would be kind of weird." She paused, taking a deeper breath. Her discomfort from earlier had left, and she shifted a bit, her shoulders relaxing a bit. "I can't believe how many students there are here. Just when I think I've met everyone, I find someone new. Isn't that great?! There's always new people to meet!" she grinned, completely unaware of Fina's forced socialisation. As far as Lucy was concerned, this girl had saved her from a potentially awkward situation, so Lucy liked her already.

Edit to reflect the direction the RP took:
Sarafina vanished with the mute girl, so Lucy shrugged and went back to her food. Within a few more bites, she was done. She took her sleeve and wiped her mouth, and then left the table, flashing a smile at no one in particular as she left.

Verla looked at Lucy and wiped her face. She gave the piece of paper that had hi on it. She figured she would just tape the paper to her chest so that everyone saw it, only to give them another thing to laugh at her for. Verla was bold, all thanks to Oliver, her companion. Verla began to look around the table and began eating, she wanted to go to her dorm and that was it. After her fire incident earlier in the common room, she just wanted to eat and get back to make sure her parents hadn't written back.

They couldn't write that fast, could they? She cleared her head and began eating her dessert first. She hoped people would ask her why, but then she would have to speak, but she was also a fast writer. She wished she was mute, that way she wouldn't have to voice herself when defending herself, or Oliver. Verla hoped that the common room incident didn't draw too much attention to herself. That was the last thing she had wanted. She blinked back into reality and looked around and saw all the kids at her table, begin to look at her and whisper, as if they wondered why she ate dessert first.

Sarafina went back to the Hufflepuff table after the common room incident. It took her a while to find who she was looking for. There were so many people. She finally spotted Verla and walked up behind her, hopefully not scaring her. She tapped on her shoulder, hoping Verla couldn’t tell that she had been crying too.
“We need to talk,” she said, glancing around at everyone at the table. She needed somewhere private to talk. “Somewhere...less crowded,” she added. “It wasn’t just you in the common room. I don’t know how to explain. We could go outside somewhere? I don’t know. We just need to talk away from people. It’s not your fault. Please don’t think I blame you for anything or think of you differently. I hope you understand what I’m saying and why we need to discuss it elsewhere. Look, if you’re confused just come with me please. I’ll explain what I mean, but there are too many people around right now.” She looked around once more at the people near by them. She knew she could trust them, but still wanted the talk to be private. She didn’t know what they’d think of her. And she knew Verla probably didn’t want word getting out either.
