How Do You Relate To Your Character OOC?

Character Name: Ariana Walker
House: Gryffindor
Relating Traits: Probably her tenderness to get in trouble, boldness, fierce need to protect her loved ones, her appearance, her bubbly outgoing personality, her temper, her first name and Hispanic background [Mainly Argentine but I’m also Italian]
What Inspired You: To be honest it was myself really, I mean It shows the vulnerable parts of Ariana, as well as the more profound ones, that often people feel ashamed to admitting, for example the fact that she is very stubborn or that she has a fiery temper or how she keeps her deep, sad thoughts to herself, afraid of loading her problems on to anyone, I feel like she is an example to many people that read her story, because you will be able to see how she changes and how she learns that she doesn’t have to bottle these feeling up and you will see her character develop in to a better version of herself.
Extra Info: Contrastingly I actually love writing while Ariana despises it and I also love drawing, which came as a shock to many, I'll admit I was always
the class clown [I still am ] and I think Ariana taught me how to express these hidden talents, without shame, she truly is a wonderful character to write about.

Character Name: Claudia Gears
House: Ravenclaw
Relating Traits: Both me and Claudia are both bookworms. We love to learn and devour books instantly! We’re also both awkward, both with starting conversations and talking, but I’m not as awkward as her. Claudia can also be rude with people even with the best intentions, which can rarely happen to me - but only unconsciously and the people I’m talking to always understand that it’s just how’s I am and that I mean no harm. However, with Claudia she’s very lonely and distant (we’re both very shy and hate talking to new people) so many people don’t know her well enough to not be offended. She can be hotheaded at times, but really only about her eyepatch. I’m a complete hothead though and love to debate. Claudia is basically my glorified shy version of myself.
What Inspired You: I have not rped for very long, though I do like to write. The idea of rp always spoke to me, and when a friend told me about this website I was super interested. I had an idea of created a super shy character for a while to help break out of my shell.
Extra Info: I have always wanted to be considered “mysterious” and that’s where Claudia came in. She is sort of mysterious, but once you talk to her she really loses her mystery because she’s responds truthfully (ish). That kinda represents me because once I get to know someone I break out of my shell and start becoming talkative. However, it’s easy for me to become distant with my friends and I lose touch and feel awkward around them. That’s the same with Claudia, but more like in reverse I guess.

Relating Traits:

Coincidentally--we were both sorted into the same house, and we are both fond, avid readers and writers. I'm very outgoing and outspoken--I think that comes across in Quinn, if not the adventure-hungry heart, wit and self-awareness. Also if either of us stops thinking or moving forward, there is a good chance we will cry. We don't have much in common, but there's always overlap with writers and their creations.

What Inspired You:

I mean... I think we're all a little bit in love with that aloof, effortless dark academia style you see on Pinterest--the romantic shirts, wilting sleeves and sylphlike profiles tucked amidst a garden of books.

That sepia-world colouration made me think of a young dappled fawn--of parchment, ink and twitching hare-noses, and I remember visualising this autumnal person whose existence was a drifting, dulcet thing, someone that would be at home in this world. Some John/Jane Smith who may be unremarkable, not particularly noteworthy, just a curiously owlish face and messy bun you'd see at Barnes and Noble or your local independent coffee shop...

This muse sort of just appeared one day and said chase me. I've been trying to make heads and tails of them since. Then I wondered what would happen if I gave that same little fawn a wand, shrunk them down a few years and chucked them on the Hogwarts express.

In this particular roleplay world: I was thinking about the aftermath of the two wizarding wars: how harrowing that must have been for the Millenials, for the parents and older siblings that took part in these wars. Then I thought too about the Renaissance generation that always follows wars and great depressions: where harmony and love rule, where milder souls are born, those who protest and exhume the rot left by the Dark Lord's influence because they've seen the scars it left on the world and want to heal it.

Someplace in the aftermath of all this: Quinn.

Because if anything is true to them in all these different universes they exist, it's that they always pave their way forward with paladin intent and a hunger for making a better tomorrow. Quinn want answers, they want adventure and ultimately, like any raw-boned young thing, they want to win the race. That's what makes them fundamentally Ravenclaw. They're famously neurotic creatures with all the common sense of a pygmy puff, prone to tics like cribbing. That winner-takes-it-all race-horse drive that doesn't do too well off the tracks. Life at a slower pace and stagnation sort of stifles them.

I'm just a mad scientist wondering what happens when I apply this formula to these circumstances and jotting down the results frantically on a chalkboard. Their raison d'etre doesn't change: only the environment, circumstances and the outcomes.
