Goblin' It Up Errand

Sarah made her way to the north tower, smiling. It was uncommon for the young Slytherin to be in such high spirits, especially to be walking around the corridors with a wide grin on her face, but she couldn't help herself. Her first official Halloween was quickly becoming one of her favourite Hogwarts memories of all time. This night, along with the ball earlier that month, had confirmed something Sarah had long since known - October was her favourite season. She loved everything about it: the sunset leaves which adorned the trees, the cool breeze which told you summer was well and truly over, and the season of all things spooky. She loved anything dark and mysterious, and had known she'd love Halloween. This night had only confirmed these assumptions.

When she made it to the Divination classroom, she was excited to see what sort of treats would await her there. The library's quill and muggle sweets had been spectacular - other than the awful popcorn ball she'd tasted at the Muggle Studies classroom - and she was curious to see what would be offered here.

She was not disappointed as she glanced the large crystal bowl, eyes widening as she watched the mewl-shaped candies glisten beneath the corridor's candlelight. Sarah thought they were beautiful, almost too beautiful to eat. She let her eyes roam the table, looking for a sign telling her how many sweets she could take, but saw nothing of the sort. With a slight frown, she ducked down to look beneath the table, perhaps the sign has fallen. The sign hadn't fallen.

"Hm, maybe it's a test," Sarah muttered to herself, chewing her lower lip in thought. Take too many, and you'll no doubt be hexed, or take less than you're allowed and end up with fewer sweets. The whole tradition still seemed strangely foreign to Sarah. She didn't understand why giving children free sweets was something which was done - though she wasn't one to argue with such a thing. It was a kind tradition, a gesture the professors here at Hogwarts had decided to take part in and being ungratefully greedy wasn't something she wanted to do. She took three of the candies - one blue, one purple, and one pink - and placed them into her black pillowcase. "I'm still not too sure I'll want to eat them," She laughed to herself, turning away from the bowl and walking deeper into the castle.

STOP 3 | Previous Stops: Library Charms

Katrina, thoroughly hyped up on sugar, climbed the steep stairs to the Divination classroom. Boomerang bounded at her side, a step or two ahead of her at all times. She was a dragon, with real appearing purple wings, and a matching dress and pendant. Her hair was curled to replicate fire and a smile was on her face.

When Katrina arrived at the Divination classroom, she found that there was a really neat looking crystal ball filled with some gummy candies. Katrina grabbed a few and placed them in her bag, aware that no one was around at the moment. That also meant she didn’t know what the trick was.

She tentatively placed a gummy in her mouth and chewed thoughtfully. It tasted amazing. To her surprise, nothing happened. Well, besides the really good flavor. It seemed there was no trick here. Katrina smiled and turned on her heel, well aware of the sugar coursing through her veins.

Boomerang turned his head curiously at Katrina and that made her giggle. Everything was making her giggle. But as long as she wasn’t sick, it was perfectly safe. Boomerang wound around her legs and Katrina picked him up again and carried him down the stairs back to the main area. Last stop, Astronomy.

STEALING CANDY

Of all the extracurricular classes that Piérre was prepared to apply for, it was Divination that always held his attention the most. The idea of divining the future by using methods that he could find in any place that he was was something that Piérre valued deeply. Especially with the uncertain events and the chaos that inevitably followed him around, it would be good to find SOME way too predict when his actions were going to come down on his head. Then again, perhaps they would come down on his head, for he had already been responsible for taking more than what was his due in the Astronomy Tower. However, the Green Thunder Mister L cared not about the complaints of his victims. He was a pure-blooded thief through and through, and a little silver bengal named Figaro was his companion tonight.

"Hahaha! We sure foiled them, didn't we, Silver Lightning?" Piérre tried his best villain impression, which only made him laugh. "Hush, hush, we're coming up on another payload. Shhhhh.... we need to be extra stealthy here!"

Figaro, curled around his neck and wearing his new leash and collar, mewed curiously at his brother, evidently confused by the uncharacteristic 'malice' that Piérre was expressing. Of course, Figaro knew of his brother's eccentrics. After all, the cat was nearly a year old, and had been forced to deal with this personality for nearly all but eight weeks of that time.

Creeping up and trying to remain unnoticed, Piérre secured the black mask on his cheekbones, wiggling his nose to make his drawn-on moustache twitch back and forth. To an outsider, he looked ridiculous, crouched to strike and steal candy, but in Piérre's mind, he was armed with a dangerous comrade and was stealthier than a ninja, padding across the rugs on the Divination hallway to snatch a crystal ball filled with the candies within. He LOVED gummies. They said that it was a mystery flavor? The Green Thunder LOVED mystery. He was going to run some experiments on the radioactive substance at a later time. However, he had to make sure that he made his escape before another could notice that he had taken anything to begin with. Without a sound, hushing his Bengal, Piérre crept away again, sprinting down the hallway to his next location without looking back to see the horde of certainly surprised and flabbergasted law-enforcers paralyzed with this newest development.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Wren walked happily through the big, metal doors to the school. She had just visited the grounds to collect one of her candies, and now she was heading towards the next classroom. All throughout the hallways students were talking and hanging out with friends. Some went off alone, like Wren. Some eager ran down stairs and corridors, their bags full and a dead giveaway that they had been to several classrooms. Others seemed less eager, preferring to walk slowly and talk with friends, their empty bags showing that they had just started their night. Climbing the stairs towards the divination classroom, Wren looked around at all the costumes. Some people were dressed up fancy without a real costume. Others seemed to be very into it and had undoubtably put a lot of effort into their decision. There was a dragon, some kind of bird, and... Paisley. Wren instantly recognized the brown hair and green eyes, even though she had her pirate costume on. She was talking with a few other students, most likely her friends. I really don't want to talk with her right now. Keeping her head low, she walked quickly past the girl and up the last couple of stairs.

She continued on until she reached the north tower. There was only one other classroom here, so it was really easy to find the divination classroom. There weren't very many people here, yet still it was loud in the small corridor. Everything seemed to echo. Stepping towards the door of the classroom, Wren saw there was a small container. It looked almost identical to a crystal ball and was filled with small candies. Their wrappers were iridescent, and they almost looked like crystals the way they shined in the light. Reaching into the bowl, Wren pulled out one of the blue candies and placed it inside her bag. Stepping away from the door, she headed back down the stairs and towards the ballroom.[/font]

Coming in from the other two areas that the group had already visited, he expected that this would be a huge display for them to have a lot of fun in. When they approached though, he just stared at the display that was set up and looked over towards the other three that accompanied him, "Uhh... this is bloody lame," he commented, always one to speak too bluntly about things. The rotation of his wand never stopped the entire walk they made from the Astronomy area to where they arrived at. Now though, it stopped, in utter disappointment from the lack of creativity that came along with the 'decorations' that this stop held.

"They got a movie goin' on downstairs, ya?" he commented, looking over towards the others. Zykeal was almost not inclined to take any of the candies that were sitting around outside the door towards the divination door, but, he walked forward and decided to snatch one of the treats. Why would he take more, he assumed, they were as boring as the subject of divination and was the reason why the display was so lame. While he waited for the others to see if they wanted to take something, he looked at the other students coming and going, sort of bored at the moment.

"I really hope it's a good movie," he muttered over towards Eyre. The people he was spending this Halloween with was what was making it half-way decent, honestly, he expected more out of Hogwarts for this holiday. This was 'their' holiday, wasn't it? When the others were finished, he'd continue with them and head downstairs towards where the movie was going to be playing and the rest of the students were gathering. Shifting through his satchel on the way out, he'd note the few candies he had gotten and started to decide whom he was going to gift them to. There was no way he'd be eating any of these and it didn't make sense for him to just let them go to waste.

Lydia had been extremely excited about the Divination stop of their "Halloween-Tour". She had already looked up a little bit what the class was about, and she was more than sure that the following year she would have chosen to study the subject. The idea of being able to potentially predict the future, read tea leaves and use crystals and crystal balls was incredibly fascinating, and the young badger could only imagine how incredible the set-up outside of the classroom would look like; the Flying one had been really captivating, with the whole game of catching the flying candy, while the Astronomy one had an aura of mystery that made everything more special. So as they all made their way towards the Divination Tower, Lydia already imagined crystal balls, teacups and all of those things to be there, waiting for them.

Once they reached their destination, Lydia was slightly behind Aaron and Zykeal, so their words reached her before she could see the set up with her eyes; she eagerly reached them, curious to see if that was true, that the set up was lame, and unfortunately she did feel a little sad when she saw the table with the candies on top. Of course, compared with the other two, the Divination one looked simple, but Lydia decided not to let it drag her mood down; maybe the whole simplicity was a metaphor for the class itself, maybe they needed to open their minds and see what wasn't there?

Her eyes on the crystal ball that contained the candies, Lydia got closer to inspect the sugary treats; they were all wrapped up singularly, iridescent paper reflecting the light, making them all look different. Since there was no sign saying that they were allowed to take only one, and since they were quite small, Lydia figured she could take a handful of them and she put them in the pocket of her hoodie, that was now filled with sugary treats.

"I'd love that! I've never had something like that before," she told her best friend, a smile on her face. She then looked at Eyre and Zyk, then back at her best friend and nodded; a movie sounded like a good idea, and like the perfect opportunity for her to eat all of those candies. With one last glance at the Divination set-up, she made her way downstairs with the rest of the group, wondering which movie they would have played.

From her previous adventure in Muggle Studies gazing at all the muggle candy goodies that she so dearly missed, a hershey's already being consumed since she really couldn't wait, she approached another one of her favorite classes that she couldn't take. Divination was something that she was incredibly excited to be able to take, and just a year away from it at that. In her first year, Professor Kibitzer had lent her time in explaining how muggle divination and magic divination might interact, and how they're different. Along with some general good knowledge about her being taller than boys for a little bit which she had not experienced quite yet. It was already a class that she held near and dear to her heart.

It was a no brainer that she come see what Professor Kibitzer had set out for everyone, and she was not disappointed. A crystal ball type looking thing was settled in front of the doors as the receptacle. It was filled with some candy wrapped in a pretty shifting rainbow plastic. It definitely had to be some sort of wizard candy as Willow had never seen it before. Possibly even one unique just to this, which made her even more excited. The young finder searched around for a sign like the last that told her how much was allowed but found none. 'How generous of her.' Willow took one of every color and found that they were a gummy texture when she picked them up. She had been fully expecting a hard candy and popped a pink one in her mouth which seemed to taste like a sour cotton candy. An interesting flavor. These are ones she'd have to share with her badger friends that didn't attend. She grabbed a few extra to share at the ballroom too, just in case someone didn't stop and was curious by Willow's beautiful candy.
