Logan was proud of Lucia, she was actually able to dodge the spells and still hit her target with her own spell. Logan on the other hand could hardly do both at once, luckily she didn't have to dodge this round. A grin was present on the girl's face as her spell hit Rose, although she scrunched her face up in disgust at the sight of the snot. 'That is disgusting,' she thought to herself with a frown.

Before Logan could even react after her spell hit, smoke was filling the room. With a wheezing cough, Logan looked around to see if she was actually going to be able to do anything. She was definitely nervous about anything that was going to happen next.

Eyre was thankful that he saved Rose with his extinguo, but it just seemed to get worse. Rose cast a smoke screen spell and he started retching on the smoke while he sniffled and threw up slugs. It seemed as though the duel was starting to come to a close... and unfortunately, it'd probably end with the two of them in the hospital wing. Still, though, it wasn't over yet.

Round Six

It was close to impossible to see through the thick haze of smoke that covered the field. Mars kept their sleeve over their nose as they squinted through the fog, trying to figure out what was happening. How were they meant to do their job when they couldn't even see the duel?

Suddenly, two identical flashes spouted from either end of the piste. By the looks of it, Flipendos, and both had hit too. Who was it... Rose and Lucia? Probably, they couldn't quite tell. Mars waited a few more moments, figuring the next two flashes would appear sooner or later. But nothing came.

Frowning, they peered through the smoke. Was that—Eyre had something thick and black over his eyes. A blindfold? But they hadn't seen the beam for that. Had he... another crit-fail? They winced, turning to look for Lucia. The smoke curled around their face, rendering their vision useless. Oh well, they'd have to see if she did something next round.

Smoke... There was smoke everywhere...
Lucia stumbled in the fog, just managing to catch herself, and suddenly saw a beam of light cutting towards her. It was too close for her to move out of the way, and she let out a cry as it hit, catching her and forcing her to the ground. She jumped up again, and tapped her teammate's shoulder to let Logan know where she was. The smoke was disorientating.

BAM. His spell ricocheted, bouncing back to hit him. He gasped, trying to rip the blindfold off of his face as he began to cough and choke on Rose's smoke screen. This was really getting horrible. Perhaps if his next spell managed to work, however hopeless it may be, he could buy some time... if he even managed to cast one before his sickness overtook him.

Rose was knocked backwards- Logan's jinx had hit. Rose regained her balance next to Eyre.

It looked hopeless.

But.

In every good fight scene, it looks hopeless for the protagonist. And then, once they power through it, the tables turn. And then the good guys win. Rose lifted her chin. They could do this.

Round Seven

It was only a few seconds and then Mars finally figured out where Lucia was. Or rather, where her spell had come from. The smoke as waning but it still clung to the air, making the beam of the Flipendo all the brighter as it smacked into Rose. Mars winced. They had to imagine it was just as hard to dodge as it was to see through this smoke. But for that matter, it must've been even harder to dodge through a blindfold.

Mars watched the red light arc from Logan's general direction and hit firmly onto Eyre's pant leg. A warm glow stayed even after the harsh light faded which meant... he was on fire. Great, more smoke.

It seemed that neither of the Gryffindors had the energy to cast this round. It made sense, but it broke their heart a little. The smoke would be clearing up soon and then, they could fully assess the damage.
