Are we Friends?
@Katie PalsoretteIt had been a long morning of classes, and Cade wanted nothing more than to drop off his books in his dormitory. He was already loaded with homework to do and it was only his third day at Hogwarts! His bag dug into his shoulder painfully as he wandered out of the classroom and out into the second-floor corridor. There were tons of other students milling about or chatting. Some crowded around billboards and others observing and talking to portraits. Cade past them with slight longing, having friends to talk to would be nice. But he didn't know where to start. He didn't want to seem pushy or too eager. And to top it off he was very quiet. Cade hadn't had to make friends in a very long time. His mum had sometimes had other boys over for dinner parties, but he could never get along with them. They were all too loud and talked of nothing but how great they were at Quidditch.
Cade paused in walking. Looking around his eyes widened. How had he managed to get turned around in a straight corridor? Sometimes these halls were so confusing. Almost like they purposefully changed just to spite him. Reckoning he had better ask for directions, Cade bit his lip. Looking around he spotted a girl to his left. She was short with brown wavy hair. She seemed approachable... maybe he could ask her which way is the Great Hall? He knew his way from there.
"Excuse me... sorry, do you know which way the... Er... Which way is the Great Hall?" Cade asked stumbling over his words. His ears turned pink. Of course, he butchered his first impression. "I've somehow managed to get turned around."

Are we Friends?
Katie hummed along the corridors t o one of her favorite tunes. Katie was wearing her usual pigtails and a Slytherin green scarf on top of her usual school robes. It was getting to be winter soon, and Katie had no problem bundling up slightly early. If late October could even be counted as slightly early, which She didn't think it could. She wasn't against the cold. Her twelfth birthday would occur this December and she enjoyed the snow. She just had to be warm enough while it was cold.
Katie noticed a Ravenclaw boy that she had seen in a few of her classes a little too her right. He seemed a bit list, and Katie felt bad. She still got turned around a few times while walking in these halls. She'd be willing to bet good money that e even the seventh years go lost every now and then too. She wasn't sure where he was trying to go though. She was just about to ask him, when he asked her instead.
He was going to the Great Hall of course. Same place that she was heading actually. Katie smiled. I think this is the way, Katie said, pointing in the direction she was walking, I am going there for lunch too. Follow me!

Cade felt immediate relief when she smiled and said she would lead him. He was so worried he had come off unconfident. Following her, he immediately noticed her green and silver scarf. She was in Slytherin, the house he had hoped to be in. His father was in that house and he heard of all of its glory through him. He said nothing of it, however, thinking it would be obvious and stupid if he pointed it out. He recognized her from Astronomy class and maybe even History of Magic? He was trying to think where else he knew her face.
"Blimey, you're in my class aren't you?" How could he be so dumb? He opened his mouth to introduce himself. "My name is Cade, Cade Darkbound." He matched her perky gait and readjusted his shoulder bag. He didn't want the long walk to be any way awkward. She was doing him a favor! "Thanks for leading me by the way, it's very kind." He looked down at his shoes as he talked, too scared to make eye contact. Was he talking too much? Maybe he was overthinking it...
They passed a few more study rooms down the corridor. Their footsteps echoing as this side of the hall was a little quieter out of respect for the students. The suits of armor creaked as they passed, which gave Cade chills. He would not want to walk around here by himself at sundown. The mysteries of the castle would always illude Cade. He couldn't wait to explore once classes were over for the day.

Nice to meet you Cade, Katie replied, realizing that she had remembered seeing the Ravenclaw boy in a few of her classes. I'm Katie, Katie Palsorette. she added, confidently introducing herself, And really it's no worry. I'm headed to the Great Hall fur lunch too and these halls seen to pick a new victim to confuse every day. I'm sure that my day will be tomorrow now, in some form of retribution for spoiling the halls's secrets. At least, my opinion I'd what secrets the halls have. Katie added, slightly going of on a tangent. Cade may be in Ravenclaw, but he probably dud not want to hear every minuscule detail of Katie's theories on the school, people, magic, and the universe itself. Besides, it was not like Katie knew these things to be true for a fact. They were her best guess and interpretation of what made sense and what was the most logical explanation for why things happened the way that they did. If a person saw an splattered and broken egg on the sidewalk, they could rationally and safely assume that out had probably been dropped. It would be acquired and illogical to assume that an egg lying on the sidewalk, while and intact, had been a splattered egg that was fixed in some way, especially if you were walking in a muggle area where they're were no wizards or witches around to cast a repairing charm on the egg.

Cade chuckled at Katie's easy sense of upcoming doom. Cade relaxed further finally getting comfortable with not being the 'lone wolf' so to speak. This school held a lot of mystery in its crevices and shadows. It was an odd place for sure. It was probably the oldest building Cade had ever seen. Every stone that held these walls had its own story. Cade's curiosity would begin to wonder about the hundreds of thousand stories these very portraits have witnessed. And he marveled about when he'd have his own misadventures."And really it's no worry. I'm headed to the Great Hall fur lunch too and these halls seem to pick a new victim to confuse every day. I'm sure that my day will be tomorrow now, in some form of retribution for spoiling the halls' secrets."
Again, he didn't have to wait long. Somehow, his Gobstones pouch slipped out of his trouser pocket and opened. The marble-like stones rolled away down the corridor into an alcove guarded by two suits of armor.
"Ah no, I don't believe this!" Cade rushed after them. Momentarily forgetting about Katie, he paused to pick up a couple of stray stones. Counting them as he plucked them from the ground. There were thirty in his pack and he only had twenty-four. He looked around the floor more carefully. If only he knew some spell to magic them into his hand. He spotted a few more within the alcove. Cade bounded forward collecting more. Katie followed him, obviously waiting for him patiently. "Sorry," He mumbled not very sure even why he was apologizing to her. It just felt right to him at the moment.

Romah looked at her watch as she walked down the hall. Oh,bull droppings! She was late! She was supposed to meet with her friend Katie in this hallway 6 minutes ago. She looked around to see if Katie was nearby. She heard talking in the corridor ahead. Romie took of at a jog hoping that it was Katie. She rounded a corner and skidded to a stop. Katie was standing there looking at a tall boy with dark hair you knew as Cade. He was on the floor, scrambling to pick up a dozen or so Gobstones. Instinctively, you fell to your knees to help Cade pick them up. On the farm, if there ever was a mess it had be cleaned up as quickly as possible in case it could harm any of the animals or her sneaky little brothers. She scooped some of the marble-like stones into a small pile in her lap. She wasn't able to get all of them because they had rolled closer to the wall. Sorry I can't get all of them. she said to Cade as she dumped them closer to him. She looked at him and asked if they were heading to the great hall for lunch.

Cade looked up from his Gobstones at the new girl. She'd very kindly gathered a few more missing stones for him. A smile tugged at his mouth. "Thank you." He mumbled. Cade took the stones from her and stood, sliding the Gobstones in his pouch.Interacting With

"Don't worry. I have tons of these at home, and they aren't super valuable." Cade said raising his voice a little. He decided not to bother looking for the rest. No one he knew really played Gobstones, they had grown out of the game and preferred the intense fast pace of Quidditch. He then considered the new girl as she asked them if they were going to the great hall. She had a mane of blond hair and wore a Gryffindor scarf. "That's right, you're welcome to join us... My name is Cade Darkbound by the way." He stuck out his hand, an offer for her to shake it. Cade was surprised how easy it felt to talk to her. He thought making friends would be harder than this."Sorry I can't get all of them."
He then turned to Katie... his eyes shifting between the two girls. "Do you two know each other?" The two of them seemed to have been introduced already. Cade didn't know whether or not he had made this feeling up.

@Cade Darkbound
Yes. We have a Mystical Creatures Club. Well, it's just the 2 of us right now but eventually we will have more members. She shook his hand. My name is Romah but you can call me Romie...or by my middle name,Hazel. I just feel it describes my personality better. She took a deep breath. Sorry. Sometimes I just run off at the mouth when I am talking with a- She almost said cute boy but she stopped herself just in time. She never was the type to be a romantic. Her and her old friends used to be the ones that would sit at there lunch table and laugh at all the popular girls getting "boyfriends" in 3rd grade. They had watched many smart, reliable and sensible girls fall into the bear trap that was boys. She didn't have anything against boys. Honestly, she got along better with boys than girls. Sure she had had a crush on 1 boy in 2nd grade but that was just because she liked the way he did his hair on picture day. She quickly picked up her bag and took a quick step back. In doing so, she dropped her book The One and Only Ivan. As she bent down to pick it up, she prayed that Katie and Cade hadn't read the title.@ Katie Palsorette

Are we Friends?
Katie hummed softly. She had been listening to Cade and Romah talk for a while now and had stayed relatively quiet, when she noticed something.
There was a bright silver ball singing and glistening on the ground. Katie hadn't noticed it before, and was quickly intrigued. What did the ball do? Why was it there, just lying on the ground. Katie walked over and peered down at the silver ball. She picked the innocent looking contraption up, and with a yelp, found herself flung into a tight corner, and unable to move much. Certainly unable to escape. It seemed as though she had stumbled upon some trip wire.
Katie was no longer holding the silver ball in her hsnds. She had probably dropped it as soon as the trap had been sprung, so that the whole trip wire could reset and waste another person. She guessed she'd find out if that theory was true, I'd someone went flying into this space with her.
Ummm, Katie called out, not aware if anyone was actually able to hear her, but willing to try just in case someone could get her out out this invisible prison. A little help here? Katie had lost sight of Cade and Romah, but Katie figured that they should be somewhat nearby. While Katie wasn't sure exactly where she was, she did not think she had been transported to the other side of the school or something. Of course this had happened to her. It was just her kind of luck.

Katie?! Romah yelped as she looked around.. While she was talking with Cade Katie had bent down and picked up a silver ball and disappeared. Did you see that Cade? Your hands started fidgeting but you tried to stop them. This is what you did when you were nervous and you didn't want Cade to see you spaz out. You tried shoving your hands in your pockets but you then realized that you had taken off your cloak so you crossed your arms and shoved your hands in the crook of her pale elbows. She looked at the ground where Katie had just been standing barely a moment ago. She then reached her hand in to her bag and touched her music box. It was a gift from her Nanna, Marian. She was a witch and had put a spell on this small, hickory box that when ever it was opened it would softly play The Star of The County Down. The song. Her song. She secretly sat down on the floor with her back against the wall. She pretended to just put her head in her hands but really she was putting the box up by her ear and slowly opened the box. She muttered Quiter so the music went lower and leaned into the calmness of the music.
