As Santario observed from the sidelines, making sure it was a fair fight, she could see Dealla was probably feeling most of the effects from Curse of the Bogies by now, besides the inevitable feeling more until you faint deal, but the amount it would deplete her power was at its peak. Pericles didn’t look too fantastic, either, though. Ravenclaw was taking a beating in this duel, perhaps the duo could still come back from this, but she didn’t think Pericles could stand much more damage.

With Dealla working on unknotting her tongue and readying to dodge something that never came, Pericles worked smart and attacked Amadea since her chance to evade his spell was slim to none. Pericles’ blue Flipendo would strike Amadea right as she managed to pull her blindfold off. Painfully shoving her shoulder back, but it did not send her backward for possibly more than a step to regain balance. Finally, the first damage had been drawn on Hufflepuff.

Lydia was focused; she had set her eyes on her prey, and she wasn’t about to let him get off easy. She weaved her magic through the air and sent another brilliant blue light towards Pericles. While the hit was successful, it was just barely. If Pericles had been just a couple of seconds quicker, he might have been able to dodge Lydia’s spell.

Giving an agreeing smile to Amadea, Lydia set her eyes on Pericles. She knew that her duelling partner was able to take the blindfold off by herself, and all that Lydia could do in that moment was make sure that their opponents would get more damage.

While Dealla was unable to cast, Pericles remained the main threat for them; Lydia had the feeling that even though so far the Ravenclaw prefect had been aiming for her, now that Amadea was unable to see she was definitely the weaker target, so she wasn't that surprised when she saw Pericles aim for her and his spell actually hit her.

That gave her enough determination to cast her Flipendo at the boy once again; Pericles was quick, and for a second Lydia thought that he might have avoided it, but when she saw the spell hit him, that worry completely disappeared. That was a close call, she had almost missed; that could not happen again. "Are you alright Amadea?" she quickly asked her Co-Captain, before concentrating back on the duel.
Action: Doing as strategized.

𝓐madea felt her fingers slide around on the blindfold as she attempted to slide the fabric off of her face. As she felt it finally coming untied, Amadea saw a bright flash of light and a spell had slammed into her shoulder. She stumbled backward, wincing as the force of the spell impacted her and she stumbled backward for a minute, managing to stay on her feet. Amadea knew that it was probably going to happen; she was an easy target since her blindfold was blocking any chance she had to see whatever was going on. Luckily, Amadea was used to taking a hit. She could survive this. She quickly rolled her shoulders a few times, trying to loosen any tension that remained from the force of the spell. Quickly, she glanced over at Lydia and gave the girl a smile. She wanted to apologize for not holding up her weight of the duel; so far it seemed like Lydia was doing a lot of the work. "Yes, I'm all good!" Amadea said with a smile, hoping it was enough to reassure the other Hufflepuff that she really was fine. "To be expected," she added. "Let's do this!" They were both back in action for the next round and Amadea was hoping that they could make an epic comeback.

"Flipdendo!"
Pericles had found his footing and slung his cast, only he hadn't aimed at Lydia again. His focus had flitted for the Hufflepuff co-captain at the last moment, when his wand was raised and the incantation was first forming. Taking his eyes off of his initial opponent had rendered him susceptible to her strikes, and while he nearly narrowly dodged, it still found its mark. Her Knockback clipped him, yet it seemed he was determined to keep his footing. Pericles glanced to his teammate, searching for a sign that she recovered her voice, and readied himself to do As Strategized to the bitter end.
Action: As Strategized.

Not much could be worse than feeling useless, somehow separate from the duel going on, as Dee stood there, unable to do anything with her tongue tied up in her mouth. Pericles, at least, used the opportunity to attack Amadea who couldn't see the spell coming, and Dee's fingers tightened around her wand, itching to do the same. But she couldn't.

She winced as another spell hit Pericles, not sure how much more her partner could take. It really wasn't looking very good for her side - and she couldn't help feeling like she was to blame, with her spells missing, her failure to dodge the Tongue-Tying Spell, and, worst of all, her own curse backfiring on her. She wasn't gonna last much longer, and she could feel it, the vicious cold taking hold of her body, headache, runny nose, and a wave of nausea that got stronger with every passing second.

But then, finally, she felt the muscles of her tongue loosen in her mouth, and she let out a breath of relief. It hadn't been quite as bad after her initial panic, but it was still far from pleasant - and, more important, this meant she could cast again. A grim smile spread on her face, focused and determined. "You still with me?" she asked Pericles, her voice calm. There was no place for doubt in this duel, and no place for hesitating. "Remind me to work on your dodging skills after this duel, yeah?" She'd do her best to turn this around.

Spells flew through the air, but unfortunately, no one hit their target. More unfortunate would be Amadea realizing far too late that something was terribly wrong with her casting. The blue light meant for Pericles was not shooting forward at her intended target, but instead, it shot backward at her with such force that it knocked her back a few steps as well as giving her a taste of her own casting prowess.

Dealla decided to change it up and go for Lydia, but it would seem that the Curse of the Bogies was taking its effect. Snot waterfalling from your nose was as distracting as it was disgusting, and it didn’t help that she was now starting to feel a little feverish on top of it all. Because of this, Lydia was able to dodge the spell like a pro. Pericles was also determined not to get hit anymore as he dodged Lydia’s own Flipendo. Pericles was here to live another round yet.

Surprisingly it was still anyone's game here. It just depended on who could take more ground faster.

[quote]It had been a risk switching targets in the middle of a match, almost sure to result in becoming a target for two. Yet Pericles, despite looking worse for wear, had seen an opportunity and seized it. What was more, luck at last showed a shred of favor for the Ravenclaws. That was the only explanation as to why a sureshot like Amadea had backfired. Perhaps boosted by this turn of events, he swerved out of Lydia's Flipendo path, exhaling the breath he'd held in the process with a short sigh. Dealla's voice, indicating she was free from that Mimblewimble, was another immense relief.

"You still with me?"
Sounding pleasantly surprised, he breathed back "Somehow, yes."
"Remind me to work on your dodging skills after this duel, yeah?"
Sliding a sly smile towards his ally, only to quickly look ahead again, he agreed "And your aim!"

Banter was fun and came easily to him. It was seeing the torrent of slime oozing from his captain's face that upset him, though he was doing his best not to show it. Dealla looked fine. Everything was fine. Later, she could cast like silly at him while he worked on dodging, which would serve as a weird "team bonding exercise" not unlike the bit of training Peri's father liked to put him through on holiday. Now if he could just cling to consciousness for another round or two....

It was a difficult thing to stay focused with snot pouring from your nose and your target swimming in front of your eyes, but Dee did the best she could. Snot dripped from her chin. Disgusting.

And yet, Peri's light response to her teasing somehow made her feel a little calmer, the pressure on her head easing up a bit, although of course it didn't really help the situation. It still made her feel better. "I don't see you landing any more hits than I do," she retorted, grinning slightly.

At this point, she was starting to feel slightly feverish, so it wasn't a big surprise that her next spell missed, too. Frustrated and cursing, she wiped her sleeve across her face once more, and tried to force her eyes to focus. One more - she had to hit them at least once more.
