Oh, how the tides of battle can turn so quickly and right out from underneath you. It only takes an instant for a massive wave to capsize a ship at sea, sending its captain and crew into the cold ocean to be at the mercy of Davy Jones.
Dealla and Amadea raised their wands at each other again; it would seem that the nicknames' vendetta would not be over just yet. Dealla attempted to curse Amadea once again with bogies; however, she was less than successful. In fact, the girl was so unsuccessful the spell horrifically backfired as the nauseating green light refracted back at Dealla. Dealla would know very well how disgusting this spell was as she had been on Santario’s team during the summer chess games. She had seen what Santario had done to Theo with that same spell. Dealla would notice snot attempting to run from her nose, the feeling of congestion in her face, and naturally nausea in the pit of her stomach. Perhaps, it was the sudden snotting of her opponent Dealla that cause Amadea to miss her target as widely as she did. Instead of hitting Dealla, it went wide, curving just around the girl as if it felt bad for her.
Pericles determined not to be distracted by the aesthetically pleasing Lydia focused on the task at hand. He would flourish his wand and, just like his partner, repeat his last chosen spell. His fate, however, would not be nearly as bad as his teammates. While his attack didn’t backfire, he would see the start of the nauseous green glow from his wand before it faded away to nothing. To add insult to injury, Lydia was ruthless with her flipendo. The jet of blue light flew from her wand with deadly aim hitting Pericles in the middle of his chest. Not only would it knock the wind out of him, but he would also find himself very unpleasantly on his rear. Pericles would need to use all of the next round to stand back up if he wanted to keep participating in the duel, which would be recommended considering the HuffNPuffs were more Puff than Huff, it would seem.

While Pericles was too young to entertain (let alone comprehend) notions of attraction, he was not rendered immune to the charm of Veela. Many were content to take this at its face value: as an allure, an unnatural beauty. But the boy was discovering firsthand that this influence was anything except romantic. The distraction was invasive, like an earworm, or perhaps tinnitus. Though she could hardly help it, Lydia's Lovely Creature ability to skew the minds of men was a frightful advantage. To the perfectionist's mortification, his spell spluttered out. Mere moments before, his captain had encouraged him, to which he nodded and murmured a hasty "Let's." Now she was engulfed in a nasty green flash of her own casting, and Pericles had only time to bark a worried "Dealla!" before he was blasted back. The boy bounced once on his tailbone, an Oof! of air forced from him, at least managing to hold onto his wand with a desperate death-grip. That fall had been enough to distract him from his residual burn, though the last thing he needed was even less concentration. He had to focus, had to move, as there was no doubt in his mind that their opponents wouldn't strike him while he was down.@Dealla Prince | @Lydia Cooper

The word left Lydia's lips loud and clear as she pointed her wand towards Pericles. She felt a little bit bad for targetting the fellow second year like that, but at the same time this was a duel, a competition, and Lydia was more than determined to win. When her spell hit him right in the middle of his chest and made him fall, the red headed girl was surprised with herself; she had never done something like that, and she had to admit that she felt quite proud of that.
She then noticed that Amadea's spell missed the Ravenclaw Captain, so Lydia gave her Co-Cap an encouraging smile. "It's alright, we can do this!" She said, and then got ready for her next move.Action: doing as strategised.

── ❋ ──Interacting with @Lydia Cooper | Mentioning @Pericles Dralt and @Dealla Prince𝓐madea was off of her game today. She pointed her wand toward Dealla for the second time, uttering the incantation, "Ventus!" The spell flew from her wand toward the other girl but the Ravenclaw was quick enough to easily evade the spell. So maybe it wasn't entirely Amadea's fault; it was just that her opponent was very nimble. Still, Amadea had yet to get a hit on the opposing team. Lydia, on the other hand seemed to be doing much better. Both of her spells had hit Pericles. Clearly the second year was carrying their team at the moment.
Thankfully, luck seemed to be in their favor, as Amadea didn't have to worry about evading any spells herself. The Curse of the Bogies intended for herself had backfired, leaving Dealla with a very stuffy nose. Amadea quickly smiled at Lydia. "We can do this!" she echoed the other girl's positivity. Even though she was feeling a little down about both of her spells missing, she was hoping that this next round would prove more successful for her. She readied herself, staring off at the other team and preparing herself for action. She could do this.── ❋ ──

Something was off today. Her first spell had missed - that was still in the range of what was normal, what could be expected. It hadn't been a problem with her magic, just with her aim.
As Dee started to cast her second attempt at the spell, she could already feel something was wrong. The magic didn't flow like it usually did. Her magic was a part of her, a muscle that could be trained and flexed, that carried her weight when she needed it, that she could rely on. Only this time, she couldn't. It felt somewhat similar to misstepping, like when your foot comes down on an edge and your ankle twists, unwilling to hold up under your weight. Her magic built and sputtered, and she felt it, that building sense of wrongness, just before the spell exploded out of her wand and almost knocked her off her feet.
Shocked, Dee stared down at her wand, a sense of betrayal coming over her. She didn't have the most docile wand, it certainly had a mind of its own, an attribute that was apparently not uncommon in phoenix core wands. But it had never failed her like this, never turned on her. She couldn't have been more shocked if Pericles had suddenly turned to cast at her instead of their opponents.
She hated the feeling.
But there was no time to ponder on it now, on what she could do to make sure it didn't happen again. Her nose was already feeling stuffy, and she knew what was going to happen to her, had seen it firsthand at their chess combat match in summer. She didn't have the time to wait around until she couldn't aim anymore and finally fainted, so she forced her attention back to the duel.
Pericles was on the ground, apparently thrown back by a particularly powerful spell from one of the Hufflepuffs - who had it been? Had anyone aimed for her? She'd been so distracted by her own failure that she'd stopped paying attention to her surroundings - so she would have to cover for him in the next few seconds, the time it would take him to get back to his feet.
Pushing down the uneasy sensation that had settled deep in her stomach and trying to ignore how her nose had already started to run, she focused on her opponents.

As round three started, there would be no denying that the duelists would be getting more and more determined. Hufflepuff had knocked Ravenclaw back into temporary submission, and they were not about to let them get up now. Unfortunately for Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw was not about to remain submissive in this duel. Amadea and Dealla had the same idea, stop their opponent from being able to attack. Just as Dealla would feel her tongue knot up in her mouth efficiently muting her, Amadea would see blackness as a black blindfold wrapped itself securely over her eyes.
Pericles focused on getting himself back up, but Lydia was keen on not letting that happen. As another blue light zinged his way, he would deftly dodge before getting back to his feet. A living piece of artwork or not, Lydia had to be defeated, and Pericles certainly couldn’t do that from the ground. Hopefully, with Pericles back on his feet, he felt a renewed sense of focus because, at least for the next round, this duel would be Lydia vs. Pericles. Unless, of course, Amadea wanted to risk hitting her own partner with a spell.

Of course things could not go that well for too long.
Lydia was casting yet another Flipendo at Pericles, when she noticed Amadea hit Dealla, while the Ravenclaw girl hit the Hufflepuff co-captain, a blindofold wrapping around her head. Maybe it was because of that small distraction, or maybe she was too concentrated, but Lydia completely miscalculated her aim, and Pericles managed to avoid her attack.
That was such a wasted opportunity for the Hufflepuff team, Lydia's face now deeply concentrated as a frown appeared. They had to keep everything under control and win the duel, to show everyone what Hufflepuff was capable of, what her team was capable of.

Just as Pericles pressed a palm to the floor, he saw the spell flying for him. There was no graceful whirl to his dodge, instead a testimony to instinct, for the lad swiftly sprung and rolled right in the nick of time. In one fluid motion he landed in a crouch and bounced back onto his boots. For the mere duration of a glance, he looked to Dealla, trying to shoot her a wordless reassurance. I'm alright. Back to strategy. The silvery stare darted out again, cautiously fixing on Lydia. His stance was slightly stiffer- no, tensed, looking prepared to take a spell or dodge one, should the need arise again.Action: As strategized.

For all her unease, that unfamiliar sense of uncertainty deep in her stomach - what if she failed again? - her spell this round flowed through her body and from the tip of her wand without a hitch. Whatever that hiccup had been just now, she was back on track.
But at the same time, she could feel the mucus of her own curse building up in her nose and sinuses, could feel a pressure building in her head, the signs of an oncoming headache. Her nose was starting to run, but she refused to be distracted. Two times she had tried, two times she had failed to hit Amadea. There wouldn't be a third time.
As Pericles got to his feet next to her, Dee's spell flew, aimed straight and true, and it was with not little satisfaction that she watched the blindfold materialize around Amadea's head, which would surely keep her busy for a few moments at least. But the success didn't come without a price. Maybe it was the relief she'd felt when the spell had worked, maybe her preoccupation with not missing again, maybe the involuntary gesture of using her sleeve to wipe off the snot running from her nose. Likely it was a combination of all three, but in the same moment that the blindfold appeared, Dee was hit by the spell that Amadea had cast, and her tongue rolled up in her mouth.
Dee made a gagging sound, her eyes widening and her hand flying up to her throat. The sensation was unfamiliar and decidedly unpleasant - it felt like it was suddenly hard to breathe, her tongue in the way of where the air was supposed to flow - and for a moment, Dee panicked, letting out another involuntary noise and taking a step back.
But no- no. Tongue-tying curse, she knew this. Forcing the panic down before it could rise up her throat, Dealla took a deep, controlled breath through her nose, and then another. It wouldn't last long, it would let up in just a few seconds.
Still, for the moment, Dee was useless for this duel.

── ❋ ──@Lydia Cooper | @Pericles Dralt | @Dealla Prince𝓣he next round of the duel began and Amadea was ready to fight. She raised her wand, commanding, "Mimblewimble!" As she watched with glee as her spell finally hit the intended target, successfully muting Dealla for the next round. Perhaps she had been too caught up in her final success but Amadea was unable to scramble to evade the spell that Dee had sent flying her way. In a mere matter of seconds, she had been blindfolded and the world collapsed into darkness.
Amadea tried not to panic too much. She knew where she was. She knew that this made her an easy target now that she couldn't see, and she hoped that Lydia would be able to keep the duel going while she fumbled with the blindfold. Based on the sounds going on around them, Amadea was unsure if Lydia's spell had hit Pericles or vice versa, but she didn't hear any noises that sounded too threatening so she figured that everyone was okay. Internally, Amadea cursed herself. She was now useless for this next round, as she had to figure out how to get the blindfold off. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her beating heart. She could do this. Lydia was having an amazing round and Amadea had no doubt the other girl could fend for herself for one round as Amadea figured out how to take off the blindfold. "We got this!" Amadea repeated again, hoping that her partner could hear.── ❋ ──
