The Fall Ball (Masquerade)
"Piper huh? That's a cute name, Piper." She said with a small smile, her eyes closed.
She opened them, and gently took Piper's hand into her own, which she noticed was quite a bit smaller than Kara's. Kara was also much taller than Piper, like she was with almost everyone else, and with the added heels, it just made her even taller. Kara was already above average.
She turned and started to walk through the throng of people dancing, making sure to keep Piper close to her. The music swirled around her ears, and the candles made anything with any type of reflective surface glimmer a beautiful color.
Once she had found an open enough spot, she lead Piper to stand in front of her. As she listened closer, she had noticed something.
"Heh, they playing some Disney? Well, I guess that Disney is 'the most magical place on Earth.' But then again, muggles don't know about Hogwarts unless they have a magical family member or offspring."
She took Piper's other hand, and then showed her what to do.
"So," Kara said, placing one of Piper's hands around her waist, and the other on her forearm "just leave your hands here, as I'll be playing the male in this, and I'll make sure not to have to make you move your hands, as that's a little to advanced, alright?"
When given an answer, she then did the same with her own hands on Piper.
"If you're ever uncomfortable, please tell me, and we can immediately stop. Now that you know where your hands go, just do what I do." She stated.
Kara started to sway her hips slowly, her skirt flowing gently behind her. As Piper started to do the same, her dress was also softly flowing, which had made Piper look pretty beautiful in her opinion, so a small tint of pink spread across her cheeks.
"Next, this part is more difficult, but you get used to it soon enough, just start stepping in a square like formation." Kara's feet started to move in a square, waltz like dance movement. As she continued, she felt Piper's feet step on her own, to which she had said "Ouch!" softly between gritted teeth.
"Don't worry, it's alright. I remember when I was with my father, I would always step on his feet for the first few times." She slightly laughed at the memory.
As they continued, Kara looked into Piper's eyes, making the blush slightly grow.
"You know, you're eyes are sparkling like sapphires. It's really pretty." Kara smiled, as the two girls started to go in circles with the dance. The final step of learning how to dance with her.

The skirt to her dress isn't quite as sheer as in the image.
Sarah stood with bated breath. The joke about them being stuck together had been just that - a joke - but Sarah didn’t know what she’d do if the girl was to reject the idea. What if she doesn’t want to be? From the minute she’d met the younger Gryffindor, she’d known she’d like her, but after tonight, after they’d sheered their secrets, she wasn’t sure they could go back to just pleasant acquaintances who smiled at each other in the corridor. She couldn’t just be friendly with her, she wanted to be real, proper friends. Ones who were able to confide in one another.
Her fears slipped away the moment she saw the smile overtake Paisley’s face, the usual twinkle in her eyes returning. She felt herself mirroring the Gryffindor, smiling softly as her shoulders relaxed. Their conversation had been deep - too deep for a ball - but she was glad it had happened. Now she hoped they could settle back into the comfortable flow they’d been in before, twirling and giggling and dancing the night away. She was about to suggest they go back to the dance floor when Paisley’s face grew serious and Sarah felt something drop in her stomach. Oh Merlin, there’s more, she found herself thinking, though knew there couldn’t b e anything that could scare her away now.
Still, the question took her off guard. Her biggest flaw, Sarah daren’t go into it. She was far from perfect. Perhaps the girl had noticed. Perhaps she wanted her to apologise again for her lack of tact or sarcasm. Or perhaps- “Mine is chocolate chip cookies.” Sarah’s eyes widened comically, mouth slightly ajar, before she burst into a fit of giggles which could have fooled anyone she’d been given Gigglewater.
“You’re such an idiot,” She said between laughter, the words bursting with fondness which she hoped would soften them, as she gently shoved Paisley’s shoulder. “You can’t do things like that to me, my heart can’t take it,” She said, placing a hand over her chest dramatically as she tried to catch her breath. Once they’d managed to calm down, Paisley suggested they dance again, something Sarah was more than happy to oblige her in.
“It was, wasn’t it,” She grinned, once again taking hold of Paisley’s hand and pulling her further into the crowd of dancing bodies. It was warm, though she had the suspicion that there was a spell cast over the room to stop the attendees from overheating. She knew that even at the balls her father hosted, ones where dancing like this wasn’t accepted, ballrooms could easily become sweltering. “Treacle tarts,” She suddenly said after she’d twirled Paisley around a few times. She quickly realised her words might not make sense so hurriedly spoke again. “Sorry, I mean my fatal flaw. I’d do anything for a treacle tart,” She chuckled.

Who was she all she cared about is how she was a coward she couldn't say that in front of katherine she noticed her dress it looks as if someone ripped it and it dropped from half of her chest it looked like it was cheap like she got it from the toy store and god that was her mask it looks like the masks they used to give little girls in birthday parties I think they had silver in option and god her hair basic 2 year old style she was the definition of basic and cheap. Flat shoes that looked like she got it from the nearest charity donation for clothes and her gloss looked as if shes drooling all over herself and god over all shes gonna need lots of help no wonder no one had noticed or danced nor interacted with her i think someone would if she put a bag over her face to cover that hideous girl she didn't have class either,Or maybe she just dressed as a muggle standard witch well at least her face fits the description,Katherine had rage in her blood she felt murderous like she could kill someone.

The boy gave a little laugh as if to try and lighten the mood. Hopefully he could feel her stare as she tried to analyse the boy with a critical eye. She just didn't like the guy. Perhaps it was the vibes. He confirmed he was from Beauxbatons, idly making a remark about their oh-so-fabulous entrance. Scarlett had watched them but hadn't actually entered the courtyard. There were more interesting arrivals to go see, like the Durmstrang one. Now that was an entrance.
"I guess the carriage was pretty, in a shallow sort of way," shrugged Scarlett. "Anyway, what exactly is your name?"
Just then, a redheaded girl - like her - walked over to the little group. She wasn't wearing a ballgown or even a dress like most girls here, but instead jeans and combat boots. Scarlett understood that fashion sense. The girl looked tough and Scarlett generally thought her whole impression was one she liked. Until, of course, words started spewing out of her mouth. The girl addressed Lucia before anyone else, churning out sentences like an unstoppable little train. She then lowered her voice but Scarlett was close enough to hear. The girl had called Lily a thing, a mudblood and-
And then she had the audacity to whisper something in Lily's ear and sashay away, sniggering! Scarlett clenched her fists. She hated blood-purists. There were quite a few in Hogwarts, and she detested them all. Thank goodness, Lucia had the decency to give the girl a scolding. She was being treated like a child, and Scarlett was glad. This girl was an immature daddy's girl. Lucia turned back to them. Apparently, she was a family friend.
Scarlett rolled her eyes and zoned out slightly as Lily told Lucia her thoughts of the brat being a family friend. She caught the French boy's eye, a neutral expression on her face. She turned away and saw Beckett tripping Rose over.
Beckett tripping Rose over?
It looked accidental - she couldn't see any evidence. But Beckett had passed Rose. Rose had fallen over and now Beckett was doing a - Scarlett peered closer - sickly-sweet sympathy act? She then winked at Eyre and went away with her date, an boy Scarlett didn't know the name of.
Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. Scarlett seethed as she saw Rose trip over and the monster walk away, fake sympathy plastered on her face. She has Eyre, she has Eyre, she has Eyre. Tonight was Rose's night. What Rose needed was a charming - ick - date who would give her the best night of her life (anyway, if not, Scarlett would be sure to give Eyre a strict talking to). What Rose didn't need was a fuming friend marching up to Beckett and accidentally-on-purpose slap her in the face. Tonight was a night of romance, not friendship. Scarlett used all the will-power in her mind to refrain from running over in her dress and tackling Beckett. She turned away. Rose and her could get together later and vent about the horribleness that was Anastasia Beckett. Right now, she had another vile girl to deal with.
Not listening to Lily rant about the Jay girl, Scarlett said a quick, "Just need to go somewhere-" and rushed over to Jay who was walking away. She tapped her forcefully on the shoulder.
"Hello there Jay," said Scarlett, her voice cold and hard and not like Beckett's fake sweet tone. "I saw you speak to Lucia about Lily. Now, I don't know what sort of history you two have, but in Hogwarts, blood-purism is. Not. Tolerated. If I see you doing anything of the sort ever again, I will hunt you down and I will bitch-slap you in the face. Understand?"
Without waiting for Jay to respond, she walked away back to the group. Scarlett saw Cassie, her basically best childhood friend (Henry Knight didn't count anymore) and waved at her cheerfully, a genuine smile on her face. She didn't walk over. Cassie had a date (um - wow) and Scarlett felt that she could manage. It looked like they were moving to the costume party. She might join them later, but not now. Scarlett arrived back at their group.
"You're welcome," said Scarlett, nodding pointedly at Lily, eyebrows arched. She smiled.────── ☆ ───────Action (non-modded) Trying not to march over and slap Ana, confronting/threatening Jade, waving to Cassie

The boy confirmed that he was, indeed, from Beauxbatons, and complimented his own school's entrance. "Oh, I wouldn't know," Lucia said with a little laugh. "I got the date wrong and missed everything." It happened often, things like that, but Lucia was used to it. She had been holed up in the library, reading a particularly interesting book, and completely forgotten what day it was.
After Jade had left, poor Lily seemed to try and change the subject. Lucia nodded in response to her question, and Lily seemed happy with this. But then the muggleborn abandoned all pretense and scowled at Jade's retreating back. She asked Lucia how she knew Jade, and Lucia joined in her fellow badger's sigh. "Our mothers used to be best friends, at Hogwarts, so they force us to be friends as well. Jade's sister should be somewhere round her, as well, she's cool. The Sunshines are okay mostly, just a bit..." Lucia winced, obviously trying hard not to insult the family. "'Ignorant of the Muggle world.' Let's go with that."
Scarlett suddenly said she needed to go, and a startled Lucia replied with, "Oh, uh, okay then," before turning back to the brown-haired girl.
Lily then apologised and explained her history with Jade. Lucia swore. "Ugh, I should've warned her. Why didn't Sapphy say anything?! I'm so sorry, she's..." Lucia couldn't find the right word, so ended with a dejected, "kinda prejudiced."
The boy, though, quickly changed the subject. "Favourite season? Probably summer, that's nice and warm. Or spring, I like the flowers. Autumn's cool too, though. Me and my sisters used to run around trying to catch all the falling leaves," Lucia grinned as she remembered. "Then we'd make huge piles and Willow - that's my youngest sister - would jump in them and get completely covered."
Then, Scarlett re-joined the group and spoke to Lily, leaving the elder Hufflepuff a little confused. She had no idea what Scarlett had just done, which was lucky for her, seeing as the Sunshines might have been offended that she hadn't stepped in if they thought Lucia had been able to.

Cassie grinned as Charles spun her around - this was more lively. In response, she raised her own hand and twirled him around, chuckling; it was unlikely that pureblood Charles was used to girls spinning him around, rather than the other way round.
The muggleborn immediately picked up on the change of the subject, and understood that there was probably something about his family that the Durmstrang boy didn't want to talk about. Not that Cassie blamed him - most pureblood families seemed to be horrible and stuffy, in her opinion, and if she had a family like that, she wouldn't want to talk about them either. "Hm, red," she said, pretending to deliberate as she cocked her head to one side. ""Nah," I don't think so." The girl paused for a moment, then added, "To be honest, I think your natural hair suits you."
"Breathe in and out," Cassie replied with a raised eyebrow. "Boring thing, breathing. Did you know that we're all being poisoned by oxygen when we breathe? That's why people die of old age, they've inhaled too much oxygen. So it's keeping us alive and killing us at the same time - double-edged sword."
Cassie spun around again in her slippers, then replied, "Ya think? Basically anything, she half-joked, going with him off the dance floor. Just in time, as well, because the orchestra was begining to slow down and there was no was Cassie Heather could keep still long enough to do a slow-dance. Or whatever they called it these days.
Her comment about the masks didn't go unnoticed, and the girl grinned. "Okay. How about stealing fifty - wait, no, at least a hundred - of them and gluing them all together into one giant pile? We could see how many we could stack until they all fell over and crushed everyone." Cassie smirked at the idea. "Ooh, we could use superglue and then they'd never get them back!" Then, she frowned. "Or, I don't know, is there a spell for that? An un-glueing charm or something?"
What would Cassie like to do... Well, the truth was... "Go to the costume party," she said bluntly, then shrugged. "It looks fun. Sweets, pumpkins, and cheesy costumes. What's not to like?"
Hopefully, Charles would agree, and when/if he did, Cassie would start weaving her way through the crowd with him. She spotted Scarlett Aden, her childhood best friend from her days in Godric's Hollow and now a close friend, wave at her, and returned it with a grin before mouthing an over-exaggerated Kill me now! in the redhead's direction and pressing a hand over her heart.

He had been dying for some fun? Alina nodded slowly and glanced around the Ballroom to take in all the decorations and dressed up people one more time before they'd make their exit. It was so beautiful and she wondered how the refreshments would taste, and what Rose looked like because she didn't see her in the crowd. She thought she spotted Henry with a blonde haired girl, but she wasn't so sure with all that was going on. She wouldn't have time to see if it it was him or say hello.
"Okay, let's head over to the other place. It's just in the rehearsal hall across the way," she stopped her dancing and stepped back from him since their dancing was finished. She made her way across the dance floor and towards the exit of the Ballroom, leaving behind the Masquerade and hoping that all her friends there in attendance were having an enjoyable evening.
So with Logan, she made her exit from the festivities of one room and the two headed just down the hall and would enter the other area of Halloween themed fun and she was eager to see what decorations might be there or what friends she might encounter.

She would go for some time without being approached- she was seen, but not really acknowledged. So, nothing out of the usual. Xailah would catch sight of someone who lacked the proper attire, for an event such as this one. The student wouldn't linger in the room for very long, and would take a position by the door, instead of participating in the activities. Xailah easily recognized the student as one of her friends; and would briefly depart from her chair, to say hello. The lioness couldn't remember the last time she said 'hallo' or even 'goodbye' to either of her friends, today. So she figured now was the time to do it. Before something bad happened. As Xailah made her way to the doors, she would brush by a certain Lazarus Plott. What a joke. The American headmasters mask, did little to hide his identity. No mask could hide an ego like his. A venomous golden stare would brush over the man, before wandering elsewhere. She would be keeping a close eye on him. Xailah would quickly reach her objective, and take a temporary stance near the doorway.
She would lean outwards a little, so that only her torso, was outside of the ballroom. "Meenauh. Hallo- and goodbye." Meenauh would never see the solemn smile on the metamorphs face, as it was completely obscured by a mask. Xailah would not linger in the entryway for very long, in fact, she wouldn't even stay to find out if Meenauh had heard her. Xailah would find that the chair she had been sitting in previously, had not been reoccupied. What luck! She was weirdly happy to see that it was untouched, and would start towards it, so that she could further observe the people entering and exiting- in hopes she could catch a glimpse of that hag. This time, she was indeed looking in the wrong places, and for the wrong faces.
Who would have thought, that the one thing that would grow to 'admire' Xailah; was the little doll that the girl had let fester in the womb-like darkness of the the satchel she carried? The thought certainly never crossed Xailah's mind. In fact she had almost forgotten about the thing after the campfire fiasco, during the summer. She thought it had left her. But, she was evidently wrong. She often caught herself thinking of the animated rag from time to time- wondering where it was, or if it was capable of being thankful for the care she provided it. She would come to figure that it was gone for good, and that it was incapable of reciprocating such a thing. It was after all, an animated rag. For nine months she had let the thing thrive off of everything she had to offer- in hopes that it would one day be able to provide her with some valuable answers. She was aware of the consequences, that came with keeping the doll; however she was unaware of the presumably romantic infatuation, the doll would develop for her. The books never motioned anything about that- and had they mentioned it, Xailah would have left the object where she found it. In the pocket of a dead Half-Giant. Oh, if only she didn't care for the little things- she could have certainly saved herself a lot of trouble.
It was a good thing Xailah never got to see the roses on her bed, before the dance. She never really liked roses, and would have probably handed them off to Aurelia- thinking that they were meant for her. Xailah disliked romantic implications of any sort. Many, simply went over her head. Had she found out much earlier, that she had a unknown admirer of sorts; she would have absolutely flipped her lid. Unlike many people attending the ball, she was not here to dance, she was not here for a date, and she was not looking for romance. So in short, no, she had no clue that destiny was waiting for her, where it could not be seen. No, she could not feel destiny awaiting. But she could feel a prickly sensation on the back of her neck, where the hairs were slowly beginning to rise. An odd smell tickled her nose. It was one that was almost... nostalgic in a way. Familiar. And irritatingly so- but the musty, earthy, scent was also accompanied by an unfamiliar one. Rosy. Floral. Bitter. She recognized it as the smell of roses. The odd odor came and went, and just as it did; Xailah would find herself feeling rather sad. She felt as if she had lost something. Where had the familiar smell gone? She needed to know. So, she began to search for the source.
Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

Melissa walked over to the brown haired girl who said alexander needed better than Katherine . Melissa thought of what to say firstly the girls dress looked like a jellyfish on crack and those lips looked like they most of cossed a lot of money
Melissa said ' Hey I just wanted to say that i heard what you said to alexander that he needs better and i agree so why don't you go so he has a better option like you said and how much did your lips cost they seem to be a little bit big and the shoes your wearing makes you look like you stole them from the charity shop and i guess you did the same with your dress and by the way remember this face cause I'm the girl that just wiped your a** you disgusting rat' Melissa felt proud as she walked past her she purposely walked into her shoulder and walked with her head up for the first time to go find Katherine and check if she was okay and to make sure she wouldn't do anything stupid. As Melissa ran out the ball room she kept trying to take of her shoes so she could run faster.

Enzo glared back at Jay with a slightly smug grin as they started walking away. That had turned out less dramatic than he had expected. Simple even.
Enzo hadn’t planned what he would do in the occasion that Lana would agree to dancing with him so once she indirectly had, it genuinely stunned him. He had to think fast because after making somewhat of a scene over the first dance there was no turning back.
After a few short seconds of quiet and observing the students surrounding him, he then decided to take action and just try and copy exactly what he had seen them do. Now that his hand was already in Lana’s, he attempted to lead her towards the dance floor while catching a few more glimpses of his peers who were already dancing. Moving side to side like that shouldn’t be too hard... right?
Honestly he thought that it didn’t seem like a very enjoyable activity nor did he see how people would actually like it, but regardless he was going to try.
”I must say you have really surprised me. I never thought you’d be caught dead spending time with me without being forced to, never mind accepting to be my dance partner” He spoke up in his usual sarcastic dry tone while he turned to face her.

Allie fidgeted with the edges of her dress nervously. She had never really dressed up like this, and she was feeling a little self conscious. Looking in the mirror one last time, the Ravenclaw finally left the dorm rooms and followed the crowd of masked students to the ballroom where she knew the Masquerade was happening. Allie was still a little surprised she was going to the Masquerade part of the dance at all - and with another student, no less! The girl had been quite shocked when Matrix had asked her to the ball, and to be honest she still was.
Arriving at the ballroom doors, the first year bit her lip. There were so many people there already, and almost all of them had masks on. She couldn't tell who anyone was! Getting more anxious by the second, Allie finally stepped into the grand room, heading for one of the corners so as to not get in the way of the dancers. Stopping, she looked around the room again, searching for someone, anyone she recognized. Wait - that looked like Paisley. Squinting so she could see better, she leaned forward a little. Yes, it was her! She was talking to another girl Allie didn't recognize.
Walking towards the pair, Allie looked around at all the other students. A lot were dancing, although there were a bunch on the sides just chatting as well. When the girl was only a bit away from her friend, she called out to her. "Paisley!" Waving, Allie picked up her pace. When she got there, she immediately turned to the other girl and gave her a bright smile. "Hello, I'm Allie." she said, introducing herself. Hopefully Matrix would arrive soon, but for now she decided to talk to these girls.
