Eris stared at Kaegen, an expression of serene calm on her face, as she managed to stop sobbing. Kaegen was her friend, but Adam had gone crazy. She stared at Adam, expression of calm fading as she looked at him with worry. 'Other Friends' be damned, Eris wasn't going to let Adam turn into some Norman Bates psycho dude. Not that she knew who that was. She had just heard the name before. Eris shushed Kaegen, with a little wag of the finger.

Her sobbing and crying from before forgotten as Eris stared at both boys in displeasure. "Both of you stop bickering. Adam, you're delirious. I'm sorry Kaegen hurt you, but you can't continue the fight right now. Verbally or physically. You need rest." As much as the words hurt, Eris managed to plow on. "Kaegen. You shouldn't be out of bed right now. Yes, you're my friend but things are crazy right now. You need to apologize to Adam. I know it's awfully new to you to deal with other children, but attacking is not okay!" Eris sighed, returning to her dormant state of shock after getting out what needed to be said. It was unfair. They were sitting, fighting when they should of been resting. Couldn't they see they were just ruining their friendships more!

That was weird. The little red heads emotions were switching back and forth like crazy.
It didn't matter, the take home message, maybe, was that he was still her friend? Maybe? He would just go and assume that she was still his friend, and move on from there. Wobbling over to the end of Apple's bed, Kaegen looked at the boy. He was supposed to apologize. That's what Eris had said, right? Adam didn't seem to be paying much attention right then, so he turned to look at Eris.
"Why did he attack me?"
He wanted that sorted first. Kaegen Deathmote was no liar. And he would never stand for being accused as one. Before he apologized for anything, he wanted to make sure he was actually in the wrong. But Apple was actually mad at him, that much was true, apple had said so himself. But then he had laughed. So maybe he was only a little mad? Not mad at all?
No, he had been talking really loudly, that probably meant mad. But Kaegen's plan made sense. He would find out why he had attacked him, and then he would decide whether or not Apple deserved an apology from him

it was a solid question. One that Eris didn't have the answer to. Frowning, she looked at Adam, than at Kaegen and tried to recall the situation. The blonde ravenclaw girl, who Eris really didn't like, said that Kaegen was trying to attack Eri Windstone and that Adam was going to try and stop him. Eris didn't really understand why it had happened in the first place, and didn't like thinking about the fight in the first place, even though it had happened just a few hours ago.

Anger dissipating, Eris was just tired at this point. She had finally said what she needed to say. That they were acting stupid. Not having anything else to say, she shrugged. "I mean, you were half dead and running through the hallways to kill someone. I think he was just trying to stop you. But I don't know." she wanted to add that he should ask Adam, not her but that didn't seem like a smart idea. Adam seemed sort of insane at the moment, and not capable of conversation. He was laughing like a maniac, and honestly, Eris was worried he was going to run at them screaming "SEVEN DAYS!" with a knife that appeared out nowhere. That was how the movie went right?

Oh, Kaegen chuckled, then laughed. The laugh of a little 11 year old who had learned a lesson but thought that how he learned it was funny. He climbed up onto the end of apple's bed and looked at him, slowing down his laughter. That was actually funny, so Apple had been trying to stop him, had he?
Looking into the maniacally laughing face of the boy, Kaegen tried to do a sweeping bow, but fell backwards off the bed, landing on the floor with his feet sticking in the air. He might have been delirious, but this was just getting better and better.
Scrambling about to right himself, he peeked over the corner of Apple's bed. And then his face grew more serious. He had practiced this in front of the mirror, knew exactly what to say. Although, in front of the mirror the bow and gone better, and he wasn't this light headed.
Looking at the laughing boy, Kaegen tried to sound as loud as he could. It wasn't very loud. But at least it could be easily heard now.
"I, Kaegen Deathmote, fens-born, scarf-wielder. He who was called fat tadpole as a babe, who was called suicidal idjit as a toddler and finally earned the title Eeh before arriving at hogwarts, do hereby admit my fault. Sorry."
That was pretty good. Would have been been better if his voice would go louder. He didn't want to yell though, that would probably destroy his throat. And besides, he was more or less positive that loud voice=angry. He didn't expect to be forgiven, didn't even think about that part. As far as Kaegen was concerned, he learned his lesson, his guard was up, this was going to turn out one way or another, and he had thrown in his two cents.
He should probably drink more water...

Adam had snapped. It was the only explanation. He had to bury his face in his pillow to stop his peals of laughter from awakening any other residents that might have taken up the night in the hospital wing. It had been reasonable to laugh when Kaegen fell over. Even Eris had probably cracked a smile, though he hadn't really looked to check. What was worse was Kaegen's apology. It sounded sincere, and he knew it, but at the same time it had been so bloody ridiculous that he hadn't been able to appreciate a word of it. When he had finally come around, enough to speak coherently, at least, he just stared at Kaegen. He didn't know where to begin. There were tears threatening to drip down his face from laughing, and his stomach kind of ached. He had to bite his lip before his next sentence, and even then he could barely get it out.

"Oh, don't worry, I forgive you.....Fat Tadpole!" He fell back onto his pillow, descending into hysterical laughter yet again. He wasn't trying to be mean to the boy -- he legitimately thought that what he had just heard was one of the funniest things that could be said. He wouldn't have normally laughed, at least not that hard. It must have been the drugs. "Order for, uh, Fat Tadpole? Is there a Mister Tadpole in the crowd? Mr. Fat Tadpole, party of one?" he laughed, ad-libbing a terrible 1920s New York accent. "Yes sir, I can get that for ya post-haste!" New York was fun. This was so fun. He should invite Eris and Kaegen to join him.

Before he could say anything (or do anything) any more ridiculous, a nurse hurried over to his bed. "I was afraid of this..." she muttered. "The healing process we used for his concussion needs to alter the mind a bit more before it can work on repairing it. We hoped this part of it would come when he was asleep." The nurse glared at the other two students and Adam giggled.

"Why, we're in the city that never sleeps!"

The nurse shook her head and did some things that Adam couldn't catch. Finally, she turned to Adam's friends. Wait, could he still call them that? Might as well, until he was sure. "I'm going to need to sedate him before it gets any worse. Which means either keep it down," she glanced pointedly at Eris, "or leave."
Doing some procedure that Adam didn't understand, the nurse started to blur. No, no, it was his vision blurring. Adam felt himself grow extremely tired and his laughter began to slur together. Before he fell back asleep, he faced Eris and Kaegen once more and tried to get in one last thing.

"Well, I guess I'll see you tom....to....." Adam was asleep before he finished the word.

Adam had gone crazy. There was no other word to explain it. Her friend Adam might of been there somewhere, but the person in front of her was not her best friend. He was a deranged boy, who seemed to think he was a New Yorker? Her best friend was just lost somewhere in the frightening thoughts and weird accent, being replaced by a crazy blonde haired boy who just looked the same. It was her fault. He wouldn't of gone crazy if Eris had made sure Kaegen hadn't hurt him. The guilt ran rampart inside of Eris, as she stared at her friend who was passed out now and no longer making an absurd accent . Of course he'd be different. He had nearly just died. Acting crazy wasn't that weird a response.

At that point the notion of even leaving Adam alone with Kaegen was just too daunting to imagine, let alone do. Although returning to the common room seemed like a good idea, now that Adam was asleep and Kaegen was doing god knows what. With a sigh, Eris ran out of the hospital wing. She would return another day, but for now, she needed to sleep and think about what just had happened.
