Madeleine happily hugged Angel once she had sat down, giggling at the girl's enthusiasm. While Angel waved over the server, Mads looked at the two more unfamiliar girls. The blonde girl introduced herself as Jacqueline, an incoming first year. "Pleasure to meet you," Maddie said with a nod, thinking the young girl was quite lovely. Her eyes then turned to the other brunette at the table. Her eyebrow raised slightly when the girl suddenly shouted about also going to Beauxbatons - even though that's what Maddie had just said. Why was she so loud?

"Yes, we go there... You do seem familiar. We're all second years," she gestured to herself, Angel and Cassanora. "You too, I imagine?" she said to the girl, hoping she would introduce herself. The longer Maddie looked at the girl, the more familiar she seemed. They had definitely had classes together before, but her name wasn't coming to mind.

Madeleine turned her brown eyes back to Jacqueline when she asked a question of her. Immediately, the recently-turned twelve-year-old sat up a little straighter and her nose turned up just a smidge. "I am a dancer," she confirmed, her voice full of pride. Dance was her biggest passion in life. It wasn't hard to wonder how Jacqueline had guessed - Maddie had the posture of a dancer, which any other dancer would recognize. She also had a very charming quality that usually prompted people to keep their eyes on her when she moved. "How young did you start? What styles?" she asked. These were the questions that would determine if Maddie thought Jacqueline was worth talking about dance with. There was only one thing in her life that brought out a bit of a snobby attitude from her: dance. Her friends would know this well.

When the server came over, Maddie would politely switch to English to order. "I want a chocolate-raspberry ice cream, please," she would request. Her brown eyes would then look to Cassanora, almost asking if she had ordered correctly. She had not been to an English-speaking country to practice the language before, having only practiced with her teachers and friends (like Cass) before. French was her primary language with Japanese being her next best, but she was really hoping to get better with her English in time for the visit to Hogwarts.

She would instantly answer Angel's smile with her own. It was good to know she was feeling well today. No doubt they'd soon be spending time together over her books again later this year. Though Cass did not mind that. Studying was her thing. While talking, was not. She preferred it this way. To have her silently make friends and support them calmly. Her eyes would linger on the first year at the table. "If you ever need assistance with your homework. I'd be happy to help you out." She offered soflty.

Cass met with Maddie's gaze. The fact that she was meant to order her ice-cream had completely passed her by. "Oh." She stared back to Maddie, trying to understand what she was saying. "Uhm... chocolate sounds nice?" Noticing the look her friend gave her after that, she clearly had misunderstood. The bells only started ringing a split second too late. "Ohh, you mean- Yes. That was perfect." She connected her thumb and index to give her friend the okay sign as she winked with an excessively impressed face.

For all her confidence, Maddie could sure be silly when it came to her English. Cassanora would not be able to wipe the smirk off her face as she side-glanced towards Maddie. Poking her with her elbow as she giggled with a closed mouth.

Angel smiled widely at the group; this is precisely what she had been looking for, exactly what she had needed. Looking up to their server. “A scoop of vanilla on a sugar cone, please.” Angel was fluent in English and French while learning others. Languages were her secret passion, something she held close to the vest, only sharing it with her most intimate friends. “Cassanora is a true scholar; if it weren’t for her, I’d probably have failed last year.” That wasn’t entirely true, Angel was smart enough if she just learned to apply herself properly, but there were many things she did struggle with. She would be no alchemist for sure. “If I’m lucky, I’ll acquire the rarely coveted broom racing scholarship. That or just follow in papa’s footsteps, I suppose.” She shrugged and laughed at herself a little. Though she could go into acting if she had chosen to pursue it more. She already participated in everything that their school had to offer that used a stage unless it conflicted with broom racing.

“Jacqueline, tell us about yourself; what are you most looking forward to in your first year, and what are your hobbies?” Angel being her slightly pushy self in the questions, but she was curious because naturally, everyone had different things they could be excited about/hobbies, and it said a lot about a person.

The other girls ordered their ice cream and Jacqueline quickly did the same. "I will have a strawberry ice cream please," she said politely in English. Then the girl turned back to the others at the table in front of her.

When Jac mentioned she was going to be learning at Beauxbatons that September it seemed each girl had something to say about it. Sylvie was very energetic in her answer, telling Jacqueline that she went to Beauxbatons as well and saying that she'd see her when the term began in the fall. The girl gave her a nod and a smile. "Yes, I will see you there!" she replied with a small laugh. Madeline told the group that she, Angel, and Cassanora also went to the French school of magic. Jacqueline was a little surprised at the coincidence but didn't say anything about it. Cassanora hadn't said anything except when she was introducing herself, but now she spoke up, offering to help out with homework if needed. Jacqueline smiled and made sure to thank her. "That would be wonderful," she said.

In reply to her question about dancing, Madeline established that she was indeed a dancer in a proud tone. Then she asked Jacqueline a few questions about her own dancing career. "I do ballet, and I started dancing when I was around 4, I believe." After replying to Madeline's questions, the french girl turned to Angel and answered hers. "I enjoy dancing, and have done it for a while now," she started hesitantly, unsure if she should tell the other girls about what she really loved. Deciding it was worth a shot, Jacqueline quickly looked around them to check that her grandmother wasn't anywhere near - which she wasn't - and then said quietly, "I'm looking forward to the Quidditch at Beauxbatons most though."

There, it was out. She had never really told anyone about her love of the wizarding sport, at least not after her family told her it was unimportant and not a dream worth chasing after. It felt good to finally say it out loud though. Jac knew these other girls wouldn't have anything bad to say about this, and probably were a little confused as to why she was making a bit of a big deal about it. "My family. . ." she started, trying to explain, but then didn't finish. Uncomfortable, she looked down at the ground instead.
