Owen felt his nervousness ebb away as he watched Ani mix together the potion, deciding that she looked like she knew what she was doing. Soon, he was simply filled with curiosity and awe at what Ani was doing. Growing up in a household with no magic had just given him a bunch of far off fantasies that seemed to not even come close to the real thing that Hogwarts supplied. Magic seemed to be found in every aspect of their lives, and Owen found hundreds of questions swirling through his brain. He turned back to watch Ani at work, taking some notes in his head about the way she worked.
In the middle of sliding some parchment out from inside of his bag while wondering why the wizarding world didn't use modern paper and writing utensils, Owen realized that he had not introduced himself, and not wanting to be rude he decided to do so. "I'm Owen, I forgot to say. May I ask your name?"

As ani kept her glare direct at the cauldron dropping and mixing things in. She had much knowledge on potions from childhood so she was swift with movement and knowing right from wrong ingredient. “ Ani, nice name by the way buddy..’owen’..hm.. also what house were you sorted into?” Ani still kept gaze on the potion she had been working on while speaking with Owen. Her voice didn’t have much of a happy tone. Not monotone at all just sort of sad...-ish.

Owen looked back at her, puzzled for a moment, Never had he thought that his name was interesting, it had always just been...there. Looking down at his robes and back at Ani,  he gestured down to some of the colors that were displayed on his robes. "Gryffindor" he said, "Not exactly the house I was expecting to get into, but then again I'm not sure where I thought I was going to be placed." He reached across for a mortal and pestle and began grinding up some of the ingredients that the book said they would need for the potion later. Not wanting to seem rude, and not having a good way to continue the conversation further other than asking her the same question she had just asked him. he spoke up again, "You're a Hufflepuff, right?"

She had stayed consentrated on the potion and kept on. Gesturing one hand to the plain yellow bandanna tied around to cover her eyes from others seeing them. “I mean, what else would I be? Slytherin? Hope to heck no,not meaning offense but just saying.” Ani said jokingly. Cracking a tiny smirk after she had spoke. She turned to see what Owen was doing and scooped up some of the little ground up parts he had worked on. Throwing a bit into the cauldron which made it turn a dark purple. “Hm..on the right track I see” She threw some more in and it turned green,Ani smiles and kept on working.

Cameron entered Potions class late and he was out of breath. "Sorry for being late I got lost." He went over to the desk and placed his school bag ontop. He noticed that a cauldron was already before him with water inside and it was on a low boil. "Thanks to whoever seated up my cauldron for me." Cameron opened his book to the first chapter as he got to work on his first potion. He began to follow the instructions and took his time adding one ingredient to the other not to forget the stirring and the chopping of certain ingredients. His partner arrived and he smiled as he watched his partner get to work as well and helped him along with the potion for the remaining hour of the class until they were dismissed. He was curious about his homework later on and thought about going to the Library.

Ani continued throwing things into their cauldron. She had such high confidence in what she was doing she never even really looked at each ingredient she threw into the potion. Taking a few more ground up a little more of the ground up thing Owen had done. Then adjusting the bandanna covering her eyes, which was weird to most people who came across her ever. Yet she was happy Owen left a question of it alone. Keeping her swift pace throwing things into he cauldron once again.

James opened the door slightly, peeking in. Was this the class he was supposed to be in? It looked like it. James saw a label displaying the name "First Year Potions 101" and stepped inside the room.
"Sorry I'm late..." he said to whoever was supposed to hear it.
James quickly sat down at an empty desk and looked around.
He saw some students that he'd seen in the distance before, probably at the Sorting Ceremony, but he didn't know their names. He turned to the person next to him and whispered carefully to them.
"Um, what are we doing right now? Have I missed anything?" he asked.
Probably... his mind told him.

Ani kept tossing things in with the help of Owen with her. The potion let out a colorful burst of green and she smiled. She mixed things in. "Hmm...I think..only think it's almost ready to be finished. Can't be sure but probably. "She took some dusty looking objects and threw them in making it change colors once again.

She glared at the cauldron and stopped."Ah alright! I think...we're done." Ani pushed it to Owen showing him the color which was a good thing. She dropped the other items and poured the potion into two bottles. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to or not but..she did anyways. "Its a surprise. You can use it when you want to find out." She grabbed the bottle and skipped out of her seat to the door. (OOC: If he does you can make it whatever) "I'll see you later Owen" She smiled and walked out towards the library.

Alex slowly came into the classroom she was directed to after of course getting herself lost on her way. She was relieved to have finally found it with the help of older students. She nervously took a seat in the back setting her back down next to her chair. The girl was nervous about this being her first class and all and wishing she wouldn’t mess up. She looked around at the other students the small girl trying to observe what they were doing. She pulled out her notebook setting it gently on the desk as if it was made out of glass. Her green eyes twinkled with slight anticipation glancing at all the potions, books, ingredients and equipment wanting to know how it all worked. She let out a small breath to release her tension. The pulled at her black and yellow robes cautiously trying to figure out what they would be doing since it would be embarrassing not only to come late but also to not even know what to do. She slowly came to her senses and in a soft voice she asked “C-can anyone help me?”. She was like a mouse when in crowds and would be surprised if anyone even heard her.

Sincerely,
Alex Reed
