After the sorting ceremony
‘Ravenclaw!’ the sorting hat yelled.
I nervously walked towards the Ravenclaw table. The smiling faces looking at me gave me a little confidence.
I knew I was going to get Ravenclaw. People say I could also be Gryffindor but my creativity and love for books assured me I was going to become a Ravenclaw. My family is diverse when it comes to Hogwarts houses. My father was a Hufflepuff and my mother a Slytherin. See what I mean? No matter what house I became my parents would be proud.
There was a blonde girl that talked to me for a while. She was a first year too. She thought she was going to get Slytherin like the rest of her family but to be honest I didn’t see it. I spoke to a fifth year as well and he told me that hogwarts isn’t as dramatic as everyone makes it out to be. He said that the classes are easy as long as you stay on top of your work. I’m glad I spoke to him. By the time our conversation was over I was fully relaxed. I barely made it through pudding. I was exhausted. The air started to feel warm and I stopped listening to what people were saying. I was happy to see our heads of houses get up to direct us to our houses. I need sleep.
