By some miracle, Lucia wasn't dead yet, and the pureblood was actually starting to enjoy herself as she quickly jumped out of the way of the lioness' spell. The next spell headed her way grazed the edge of her cloak, but luckily didn't do any damage so Lucia ignored it.
The Hufflepuff grinned madly as her curse hit the boy in the face and she recieved a compliment from her teammate. "Thanks!" she said as she readied for her next spell.

Round Four

This really wasn't going so hot for the Gryffindors. Mars winced as they watched Rose's Flipendo sail past Lucia once again, the Hufflepuff easily avoiding its powerful arc. On the flipside, Logan's second Incendio didn't fare as well as her first as Eyre managed to dodge even with the snot dripping from his nose.

And again, Lucia's winning streak just didn't seem to end. Perhaps there was an old rush of calm that came over her today because the Incendio that blasted out of her wand was dead on and looked horrible powerful. It hit Rose in the stomach and immediately, the lioness' robes went up in flames.

Mars wrinkled their nose at the smell of burning, diverting their eyes. Hopefully, Eyre was—nope. They watched with wide eyes as the wizard's spell backfired on him, the arc of light coming out the wrong end of his wand. Mars couldn't help the pang of annoyance that seeped through their chest at the sight of it—it felt like only yesterday they'd done the same. It always felt f*cking awful.

Eyre doubled over once again, this time hurling slugs onto the pitch. Mars shivered, sighing. My, they felt bad for who ever had to clean the floor.

Spectator Thread: Day 1, Groups D-F

Oh god oh god oh god things were getting BAD for Eyre and Rose.

He was hit with his own spell which made him double up on the floor, retching disgusting slugs from his throat that didn't stop coming as even more snot and mucus gushed from his nose. His body was wracked with a level of sickness that was almost unbearable, but when he saw Rose go up in flames the adrenaline kicked in and he could barely feel it. She was burning. His Rose was burning.

"ROSE!" Eyre screamed in horror before hurling more slugs onto the floor, hearing one of the spectators shouting at him to help her. He stood up although his head was spinning, standing his ground as he turned his body towards the flame. The competition didn't matter to him in that moment. He had to save his girlfriend.

Rose was sharply aware of everything that was happening, as if it was in slow motion. Except it wasn't. It was all too fast, a strange balance of her eyes seeing and her brain struggling. Eyre's spell backfired, which made it so that her gaze flicked over to him as he started vomiting slugs.

Getting hit in the stomach with fire.

Scarlett screaming at Eyre. Eyre screaming Rose's name.

She was on fire!

This was nothing like the warm fire in the fireplace of the common room, or back at her house. This was burning hot and deadly fast, spreading across her robes on her stomach. She squeaked pitifully, flailing in panic and stumbling backwards and tripping over her own feet, landing hard on her behind.

This was pathetic, in her opinion.

Today was just not Logan's day when it came to her spells actually hitting anyone. To be honest, it was starting the greatly frustrate her as she was not going to be able to get far if her spells were constantly missing their target. Logan looked over at her partner with a small smile on her face, as it seemed like Lucia was at least getting somewhere with her spells.

Glancing over at the audience quickly and her confidence grew at the sight of Henry. Of course he would be there to support her. When said Slytherin started to yell hints to the other team, she glared a bit at him. She did wince though as Eyre sat retching on the floor. Just the sight made her want to get sick.

Lucia wiggled out of the way of the spells that shot towards her, then sent one of her own the girl's way. And then-
Oh Merlin, Rose was on fire.
Lucia stared in horror as the lioness' robes caught aflame, Logan's words flying past her without the part-Veela registering them. She had done this. She had set Rose on fire.
"Oh Merlin.... Merlin's pants...." she murmured to herself, hoping fervently that the Gryffindors knew the counterspell. "What have I done?"

Round Five

Lord, lord, lord, this was all going down in shambles. Mars' muscles tensed as they watched Eyre scream, every bone in their body wanting to do something. But they couldn't, and they wouldn't. They were the moderator after all—it was only time to step in when someone could no longer continue.

They looked up to the crowd, hearing someone shout at them. Grimacing, they turned away. Didn't she (@Scarlett Aden) know if they could, they would have?

Mars focused back on the field. They breathed a sigh of relief as Eyre's Extinguishing Charm hit spot on, dousing the flames that burned on Rose's chest. It was a short-lived reprieve though, because not a moment later, Logan's Curse of the Bogies smacked into her. Rose's face turned a shade of green to match Eyre's, minus the slugs. Well frick.

They had half a second to watch Lucia's green sparks explode in front of Eyre's face before the smoke began to pour out of Rose's wand. It seemed like an unnatural amount, an extremely well-cast spell as it filled the entire piste, maybe spreading into the audience as well. Mars coughed, eyes watering slightly as they brought a sleeve to their nose. It was hard to see three feet in front of them. What the hell was this duel?

The fire on her chest was put out. "Thank you," she whispered to Eyre. And then she cast Fumos. She meant for it to envelop the Hufflepuffs, giving the Gryffindors a chance to catch their breath, but the one spell that worked was a little too big than she wanted it to. But it was too late. The Curse of the Bogies hit her right in the face. Mucus started to leak out of her nose, and she brought up her left hand, screwing her eyes up against the smoke.
