Gray Grant - First Year Hufflepuff

Before Hogwarts...

Before he did his first steps onto the doors of Hogwarts, he was simply a normal boy living on Manchester, England. Wizards that just so happens to come across him often saw him as just another muggle that one would encounter every now and then. After all, Grant himself didn't ever displayed any incidents of particular oddities, at least as recorded. Like most other muggles living in countries like England, he attended public school and possessed a reputation similar to other students, though slightly more low-key. It is evident in the anecdotes of people who acknowledge him that he mostly keeps to himself, only socializing with those he for knows are genuine friends, and hang out with him in many occasions.

As far as it has been seen in muggle records, Grant was born to a single mother on June the tenth, of 20XX, and unfortunately for him, his father wasn't there to sight the birth of his newborn son. Details concerning his father is unknown, but it is noted by nearby neighbors that he was sophisticated in his manner of speech, attire, and charm. However, they did overheard conversations in which he and his consort are having issues prior to Grant's birth, the exact subject on the matter is mysteriously missing despite the close proximity between them and the neighbors. For some reason, they didn't knew what they were talking about, but it seemed like they were arguing concerning a particular problem. Despite Grant's missing father, he rarely asks his mother about him, when he does though, she would constantly dance around the question, or just dismiss it.

Even though they may not be in the best state of economic affairs, the two remained in a stable lifestyle, living in their small house, practicing relatively good habits for security, health, and comfortableness. Grant hardly ever gets in trouble, and there's nothing in records about suspicious activity going on in the family.

In school, Grant always does his best in his school assignments, believing that if he excels school all the way to college, he will be able to have a better life between him and his mother. His teachers found him to be a pleasure to teach, but some noted that he can be "absentminded" at times. Grant keeps an almost perfect behavior record on school grounds, he rarely gets in trouble with other peers his age, though there's always the occasional tease and jeers about his height and paleness. In general, Grant is described to be a hardworking, kind, and normal student, who did no wrong, and is likely to lead a good future for himself. At least, that's what the muggles thought, besides a few "incidents" that would occur every now and then.

All in all, Gray Grant was just like a muggle prior to his admittance letter to Hogwarts, not at all exposed to the magical world in any way or form. No one would be able to guess that he was actually a half-blood living among the muggles, and living just like them, his records were simply too normal. Only his closest relatives and friends would know for sure, but they aren't inclined or eager to say any more, even then, their anecdotes are convincing enough for any passerby to accept that Grant is just like any other kid in England. Though, there were questions of where he exactly went after the recent summer, but his mother assured them that he's in a distant boarding school right now.
